  1. Marvel Is Reportedly Looking to Cast WALKING DEAD Star David Morrissey in a Phase 4 Film

    Quote

As you know, Marvel Studios is in the process of planning out and developing their fourth phase of films. Marvel has yet to officially announce that line-up, but we do know some of the films that will be included such as The Eternals, Black Widow, Doctor Strange 2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Shang-Chi, and maybe Black Panther 2. Marvel is supposed to reveal their phase 4 line-up at Comic-Con this year.

It looks like one of these many film might end up starring Walking Dead alum David Morrissey, who played The Governor. According to Marvel insider Roger Wardell, the studio is considering him for multiple roles.

Apparently Kevin Feige is a fan of the British actor, and there’s a fan theory going around right now that he could make a good Norman Osborn, a.k.a. Green Goblin, which I could totally get behind, but it’s way too early to tell what Marvel is planning for him.

One of the smaller satisfying moments in Endgame was Tony all but spitting in Steve's face when the subject of reversing the Snap was first broached

I loathed that scene (and the scene with Tony ranting in Avengers HQ after returning from space) because Tony Stark is the very last person in the world who should be self righteous about anything.

  3. Box Office: 'Avengers: Endgame' Faces Uphill Battle to Catch All-Time 'Avatar' Record

    Quote

In spite of a massive four weeks at the box office that has left the Marvel Studios title with $2.62 billion in worldwide ticket sales, Endgame faces an uphill battle, according to industry experts.

“It’s slowed down more than we all expected,” says Shawn Robbins, chief analyst at BoxOffice Media, who, after the film's first weekend, had optimistically forecast Endgame crossing Avatar’s record in mid-June. He has since moved back his prediction to Labor Day, if it hits the record at all. Robbins notes that "no movie had opened on that level, globally.”

“Avatar was all about the marathon and now it’s about the sprint,” says Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at ComScore, noting that the films' releases could not be more opposite.

While Avatar's rise to the top was gradual — spending over 60 weeks in theaters and receiving a late summer re-release more than half-of-a-year after its December debut — Endgame did a "lion's share of its business in the first few weeks," says Robbins.

It is also important to note the growth of the international box office as a major difference between the 2009 and 2019 marketplaces. Avatar’s $204 million in Chinese ticket sales made up 7 percent of the movie’s total global box office, while Endgame’s $608 million accounts for 23 percent of the movie’s global box office to date.

Just because Junior has had a couple good ideas doesn't mean it will always be this easy for him.

Right. But the gig that Junior was offered does not require those qualifications so he doesn't have to cross that bridge until he comes to it.

  5. Everyone doesn't need college and/or a degree to become a success.

And it's not as if Junior can't attend college in the future, if he changes his mind.

Me too especially since I don't think it is Terrance Howard situation where she is asking for more money. Plus it is not like she is a featured extra or a situation where they cast a nobody; it's Liv Tyler.

Terrence wasn't asking for more money, just the money he was contractually owed, provided the original film became a hit.

  7. So, it's pretty good.

It doesn't reinvent the wheel, or surpass the animated film, but it's an enjoyable experience on its own.

If he does not want to go to Howard, he could take online classes or something, there are other options here.

And yet, when Zoey suggested those very options for herself, Rainbow treated her like dirt.

I wish he would have been told when the season started that he had the year to decided what to do and where to go.

That was what he was told.

Andre & Rainbow hated his decision to leave HU, but they gave him the space to figure things out on his own. When it was clear he still had no plan, his parents made him get serious about his life.

That might have been an interesting story to tell, but that's not the story the writers actually told over the course of this season.

That is the story the writers told over the course of the season.

Junior got scared at college because he felt he was seriously unprepared, he immediately returned home, proceeded to hang out aimlessly while trying new things until it was made abundantly clear by his parents and his significant other that he needed to make concrete decisions, leading him to intern at Stevens & Lido where he eventually began being mentored by his father until he lucked into a great gig that allows him the freedom to pursue his newfound passion.

.....So yeah, that's a pretty solid character arc.

Zoey just wants to work in the fashion industry; she doesn't appear to have any great interest in discussing literature, mathematics or philosophy with her peers, or learning from great professors.

Except that's not true. Zoey was a great student in high school, except when the show wanted to shove Rainbow into scenes with her, then the writing became really inconsistent.

And the fashion industry, especially on a macro level, is not some shallow pursuit. It involves a complex knowledge of history, trends, cultural traditions, commerce, business management, etc. become a major success.

Look no further than fashion superstars like Andre Leon Talley, Diana Vreeland, Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood, Jason Wu, Donna Karan, Christian Louboutin, Vera Wang, Gianni Versace, Willi Smith, etc.

On the other hand, Junior has been written as the type of person who would thrive in such an environment.

Not really. Junior, like Zoey has been portrayed as a good student in high school, but is regularly clueless when it comes to interacting with most of his peers socially.

If a good student like Zoey turned into a party animal, unintentionally, during her first year of college, then unfailingly naive Junior wouldn't stand a chance IMO.

They wrote Junior as having made an impulsive, panicked decision to drop out and now are trying to reverse-engineer it as a thoughtful decision that was for him always about realizing college was not for him and forging his own path or whatever.

Or they wrote him as deciding college is not for him and realizing over the course of his gap year where his genuine passion really lies and deciding to take the steps to pursue it.

Which ran counter to those who continue to pigeonhole Junior (and by extension Marcus) as the usual two-dimensional Black Male Nerd stereotype.
