  1. Sorry to see Ava go because she's truly a gifted kid. But I guess there are others who doesn't like how she pronounces her words too. She's better than some of the others like Caleb and Alyssa though. I truly don't see the hype around Alyssa. Her style of singing is a dime a dozen and she doesn't have a powerful voice like Grace or Willie.

I'm glad Cassandra seems more comfortable now on stage. I wish they would not encourage her "cry" so much though. She is lovely in her lower register and better when she's giving a nuanced performance.

Do we know why Ace knew there was something to hack for?

I can't recall the details but he said he came across something about his father at the time he was working as a US Marshall. He got curious and looked more into it.

How does Grant know about Ace's father though? I would have to rewatch if they gave any explanation.

Could we find an angry ghost somewhere to take care of him?

I love that this could be a real possibility on this show.

This episode was enjoyable in a low key way. I liked the brothers' adventure with Nancy and George's sub-plot with the chowder bowl contest. George is such a good character.

I can't deal with Ace's "flavor layer". Honey, no. Grant is so different from Ace. I liked his sweet and innocent nature in contrast to the snark and savvy of Ace. Carson's dynamics with Nancy's friends is one of the best thing about the show. Both Carson and Ace's dad just let their kids run around doing whatever they do.

Nancy and Ace as a couple will be too much of beautiful hair together. I can't decide if I actually want them together or not. Their chemistry is insane but then the ambiguous friend/sexual tension going on between them right now is great too.

  4. I actually don't mind how they are styling Grace. I think she looks fine. The only thing they could try is a flowy kind of dress. She has a small waist with wide hips, so I get that they are trying to accentuate that.

I still can't stand how Ava pronounces her words. It's off-putting and a shame since she's not a bad singer.

Cassandra's performance has moments of brilliance but also moments of mess. She's very talented but too much of an amateur at this point for this stage. If she has a little more stage experience, she could do really well. But at this rate, I don't think she has enough time to hone her stage craft or overcome her stage fright and that will overshadow her talent. If she's appears nervous but still deliver good vocals it's one thing but it seems her nervous energy is bleeding into her vocals. This format of making them compete right after they just receive the good/bad news also doesn't help. I hate it, actually. I'm sure the contestants do as well.

  5. The most cruise ship performer on the show is Bean. He's young but his performances are always so dated.

This is the first time I've liked Grace; she toned it down and just sang the song.

Someone tell my sweet Cassandra that her strength is not the belting but her beautiful lower register and head voice.

Wyatt was so bad. I couldn't believe he sounded that way on the big American Idol stage. I compared him to buskers earlier on but I take that back. I've seen many buskers who are better singers than him.

Hunter, on the other hand, was pretty good. He doesn't have the strongest voice but he has good instincts about how to sing the song the best to his ability and connects with them.

Ava is talented but I don't like the way she pronounces her words when she sings. It's like a strange British accent.

I miss Mary Jo. She has an awesome voice.

So many standing ovations for mediocre/bad performances.

  6. Kinda sad this is getting cancelled. Not that this is brilliant show but it's light hearted and fun, and we need more of such on TV.

I'm not opposed to Des and Mac but sometimes they act like they don't even like each other, let alone be in love. Des gets short with Mac and Mac doesn't consider her feelings much most of the time.

  7. I'm glad they are spending more time on Ace and his family/background. This whole cast is good but the actor playing Ace is subtle with his portrayal, which is intriguing to watch and Ace is just a cool character.

This is my favorite episode of this show to date. Everything worked and the monster is truly scary, not the typical "horror" stuff that this show does. This show has really came alive during season 2.

  8. I started out really liking Billy but his character got worse as the show progressed. When the guy from the work house was taunting him in the streets he could have just ran off. Like boy!

Jessie was probably my favorite of the teens because at least her motivations and characterizations are consistent through out the series.

Bea suffers from the Mary Sue syndrome and the writers want her to be all things that her characterizations are not 100% consistent.

Leo is more interesting in the Palace scenes than when he is with the irregulars. Probably because he shows a bit more bite there.

  9. Alanis and Grace have the same issue. They are great belters and powerful in their higher registers, but dull and flat in their lower registers. Grace is better, but I feel the difference when she sang with Joss, who had so much dynamics.

Cassandra is so talented and a natural singer, but she needs to believe in herself more and embrace every part of herself as a performer.

  10. Not a fan of Grace as of right now. I may change my mind on her later on but so far I haven't really enjoyed her renditions. She has a lovely lower register, a powerful high register but there's something missing in between. She doesn't do enough build up in the songs and just goes form 0 to 60 in her songs and it is jarring for me. The dynamics are a bit off. She seems like she has the tools to be a great singer but not really using them effectively yet.

I was annoyed with Russ' girlfriend.  'My family used to be rich so it's fine for me to lie, steal, manipulate to find a national treasure and get rich for them again'.  So elitist and entitled.  Get money the old fashioned way... work hard.  Sorry, that just rubbed me the wrong way, but I'm not sure how else they could have written it to redeem her.

And wasn't she like a professor or university lecturer? I thought I recall her teaching an online class during quarantine. Even without her uncle's monthly stipend, I would assume she's making good money from that.

  12. I'm surprised more people are not talking about Cassandra. I thought she was amazing. Such a natural singer and a great song choice. Even with the nerves, it was such a compelling performance. I listened to the original and she made the song better by the different musical choices she made.

Her duet partner on the other hand was a whole lot of meh. He's not a strong singer and I didn't like his performance. He's at most a mediocre busker level.

  13. Whenever they try to address real life issues on this show, it takes me out of the show. I don't think it's a good idea for the show to mix fantasy with reality. Because it makes both not "believable". Lol.

Seeing how they resolved the MacRiley issue, I had rather they had not gone there and not let know Riley had feelings for Mac some time ago. Much ado about nothing.

Though, I do wonder if Jordan Elsass intentionally played drunk Jonathan as if he wasn't that drunk, especially after the Sarah fight, or if he wasn't directed nearly as well on adding a few little subtle flairs with drunk Jonathan. Because, for the most part, Jonathan seemed fine.

Yeah, I don't know if this is poor acting or direction but he definitely didn't seem drunk to me. Tipsy at most. Because he sobered up real quick when Sarah yelled at him.

Even though the answer is (understandably) no, I appreciated that Jonathan gave the proposal about moving back to the city to stay with his friend. Instead of just whining about it and feeling sorry for himself, at least he's thinking of a solution for himself. And it's not a bad idea either if they trust that friend/family. Many people (my parents included) left home when they were teens to live with someone (e.g. family friend or relative) in the city to get better education/ opportunities.

I don’t get Clark's logic either. Just because he did it when he was younger, he is advising Jon against it? Because he regretted it? But if he hadn't moved away, he would not have the same opportunities he has right now. So it doesn't really make sense to me.

I feel like even though Jon lashed out, he took it back so quickly that the parents may not even think of it as a big deal and probably will forget about it after some time. Bet he will still continue to get the short end of the stick w.r.t attention from the parents about his needs.

ETA: I was glad to see Jon making new friends with Tag in the previous episodes but the writers had to ruin that too by making Tag a problematic super. He really can't win.

They may not see their child's pain, which is unfortunate but Jonathan hasn't been sitting them down to talk about it with them.

Very few teenagers will sit their parents down to talk about their issues, especially things that make them feel bad about themselves. Most likely they will act out in other ways which is up to the parents to recognise or not.

My point is not in defence of Sam Lane but that none of them is a perfect parent. Lois is resentful of her father, and in the same way, Jordan was resentful towards his father before they came to Smallville and if things continue like it is, Jon might become the resentful one. What Lois and Clark has on Sam is that they seem more willing to make changes if necessary. But I somehow can't get over the fact that they weren't wise enough to bring Jonathan to the fortress too at least once with Jordan. That's just dumb parenting if you ask me.

  16. Sam Lane might have been an absentee parent but I don't see Lois or Clark much better. They are good at giving the kids attention when they are literally crying for it but there is no consistency in the day to day because they are both busy with their own things.

If they have been paying attention, they would have noticed Jonathan's off-hand passive aggressive comments here and there that show he is not okay. He's a teenager so they can't expect him to come to them with a heart to heart, they need to reach out to him. Are they only going to notice him when he throws a full grown tantrum like Jordan?

  17. Jonathan is busy being caretaker to his family and friends, and because he naturally has a bright disposition, no one really seems to think he needs help or needs to be taken care of too. The boy is going to break one day. Sarah is a good friend though. At least she notices that he may not be having a great time. If I didn't know Jordan and Jonathan are twins, I would have thought Jonathan is the much older brother.

  18. The only time Desi fought for them was at the end of last season when Mac was acting shady about Codex. I thought she was really trying to reach out to him then. But she's back in her shell now. It's not the lack of caring but her insecurities and self sabotaging tendencies. The first thing she did when she felt she may lose Mac is to push him away.

I also felt so bad for Riley the entire episode, her secret was exposed in front of everyone against her will and she had to deal with the fall-out and the looks from Mac and Desi. This is something that may affect her professional life too. They aren't just friends but co-workers. I'd be getting revenge on Murdoc just for that alone. Lol!

I think he did analyze his feelings and realized there was an attraction to her, so perhaps he's asking if he can do that with her?

Yes this is probably it. Still, it's a giant leap between making a diamond, wanting to propose to his gf and suddenly wanting to explore it with someone else. It means he was never all in with Desiree. Des already has an issue with having her walls up, this is going to make it so much worse. I haven't watched all of season 4, but has Mac ever shown a romantic interest in Riley?

  20. How unfair of Mac to go to Riley to ask her if she still has feelings for him when he's not risking anything himself. He should analyse his own feelings before approaching her. So unfair to Desi too who has been nothing been loyal to him. MacDesi relationship is not exactly healthy because their communication sucks. Riley and Mac are more on the same wavelength, so they may work but the way things are going down is not great.

  21. If I never hear the phrase "doing the work" or "listening and learning" ever again from these Bachelor nation people, I'd be very glad. Empty words that mean nothing.

In the real world especially at work, if you said those words, the next question that the boss will ask is "OK great, please list down the work you are doing/ intend to do and quantify that work. And a timeline for it too, thanks."

And for "listening and learning", please list down for the class what you have actually listened and learned and perhaps a periodic assessment to proof you actually learned.

Lol. I'm half joking but the use of these meaningless catch phrases are out of control. And if people demand apology from people who are not actually sorry, be prepared to get such nonsense.

I wish they'd replace Chris with a new host just so I don't need to see Chris or bachelor nation contestants drag this thing out.

  22. Are we supposed to feel sorry for Clare the next time it doesn't work out with Dale? Lol, not me! She can't say she doesn't know what's she's signing up for now. Clare talks a good game but her actions contradict her words. Again and again.

Accountability, I'm all for. But this thinking that "social media activism" and constant condemnation posting are necessary to prove something is (1) deeply flawed and (2) contributes to none of the real, concrete change that people are looking for.

I saw the contestants of this season of the Bachelor and last season of Bachelorette put out group statements to condemn racism. It's a nice support for Rachel Lindsay but means nothing much to me at the end of the day. Do I think that all those people who posted it truly do not have a racist bone in their body? No. Do I think those who did not post (like Noah Erb from Tayshia's season) are racist? Also no. Noah seems like one of the most open-minded contestants on the show, based on how he spoke about others on and off the show. Compared to other showboats from BN at least. People should really stop expecting timely social justice posts from contestants who do not make their living on SM.

  24. Chris said the wrong things for sure. He is a grown man and he should have known better. He will be fine after taking a short break. I side-eye the Bachelor Nation contestants who came out of the woodwork (those who never cared about racial justice before or at least never expressed it) to suddenly speak out against him, joining the bandwagon, when they were kissing his ass all along. Chris Harrison has never changed who he is. He tells bold-faced lies for the show and never cared about anything beyond making a TV show and getting his paycheck. He is not a man with high integrity. So they can't be /that/ surprised or "disappointed". Spare me.

You know he can’t let Claire get any more attention so as soon as she’s posted she’s struggling he immediately does this. He’s so transparent. Famewh@re

He's so embarrassing. He can't let Clare get all the sympathy. Move on, dude. No one cares anymore since you're no longer part of a BN couple.

One thing I like about what Clare did was she did not mention him in her statements. But he kept speaking her name and speaking on behalf of her (like Clare and I are gonna be ok etc). I would hate for my ex to speak on behalf of me, no matter how trivial.
