  1. Wow you got a great deal!!  I know the later Columbo's are usually panned, but I still enjoyed several of them.  I mean, when you know there will be NO more Columbos, you tend to overlook things not being up to the usual brilliance ;)

Speaking of brilliance....  tonight I watched A Friend in Deed with Richard Kiley and directed by Ben Gazzara.  I love this one and it's the only one I can remember watching from 1974 when it came out and I was a newlywed of only 20!  At that age, on the Friday night mystery movie rotation I seemed to like the McMillian and Wife series more and only halfway watched the Columbos.  Now I find McMillian and Wife unwatchable...   One thing I love about A Friend in Deed is what a great job casting did with the costars.  Everyone looks 'seedy' and believable.  Great acting and loved the location shots, too.  The décor from the 70's is really something to see ;)  All that carpeting and the carpeted bathrooms with four carpeted steps up to a large sunken tub-- wow.  The sunrooms with pianos and plants, paneling on walls that looked elegant back then.  It's like another character and I feel like I've time traveled after watching an episode!

Oh so agree!!!  I loved that episode, acting was superb and his cast of regulars in their usual character roles.  I was in my 20's then so this was a picture into how the rich lived!  I laugh now at what we thought was brilliant then!  I think the one thing for me that changed with his portrayal of Columbo was he became more squinty eyed and was always smiling, grinning all the time not just at certain moments or am I thinking of the ones they made over a decade later that were just horrible!

  2.

I mean really, why add that to the storyline unless Matt is looking for a pity party?

I think TLC's hand in guiding these "real" life events is more to blame.  I am wondering why he would be so truthful on FB and then know another story will be told of the events.

  3. You know peach, I've said it before and so have many others, but you should bundle some of these re-caps up and send them to all the web sites and publications that have TV reviews.  I bet you'd be hired,   You can't deprive the world of your fantastic talent.

Do you watch any other shows that you do re-caps for?  I would read every one of them, even if I don't watch those shows.

    Agree totally!

  4. Not a fan of later episodes either, his acting became so contrived and unnatural I just couldn't relate anymore.  I ones from the early seventies were the best but went downhill late 70's for some reason.  I still enjoyed them but the first few years were the best!

    I'll check out Amazon, thx!

  5. Just caught the episode when the trainer shows up "unexpectedly" of course!  LOL  Anna prepared more food for that breakfast for 3 small children and Josh than she did for the Thanksgiving feast which had to feed 20 more family members?!  24 biscuits and was that turkey bacon at least being slid into the oven?  What would she do without cooking sheets to cook all that boxed food?

Steve said Josh has put on 20-25lbs since he saw him last but he is not the only one.  Anna is overweight and the kids are on the heavy side already.  They are cute cute cute but their little cherubic faces look like they have been blown up like balloons.  Those kids need to be running around that yard.

I think the food served by the film's catering company would be heaps more palatable.  Anna's looked like a "FREE when you stay all night"  buffet breakfast gone real bad!  LOL

  6. Molly taking a huge bite of hamburger, chewing with her mouth wide open, then talking in a restaurant on camera was disgusting.

I'm not saying this to be mean, its just an observation but Jacob looks a lot like Eddie Munster.

Molly was eating at least 3x during that show, wow do they not let these people eat except on camera?!!  Mouth open with fruit and Amy too, then the burger and Zach with his mouth open then Molly wolfing the sandwich but at least her mouth was closed then proving it can be done!  LOL  I think it is a bad habit they picked up at home.

I have never seen Amy's kitchen tidy and clean and it was obvious Molly had no intention of helping her clean up after they had lunch where btw Amy was eating her sandwich with her mouth open!

I think Amy has more anger issues than Matt, she seems to chew more bones than he does and make more snide remarks or at least in that episode.

I thought the float was very creative and the family worked well together but the tractor not starting was not believable!

  7. I called them out on registering for thousand dollar laptops, four hundred dollar mixers and restaurant gift cards. Their sycophants told me I was rude and horrible for daring to question the motives of such a wonderful couple. The creator of the page ended up deleting me.

    Wow this sounds familiar.....

  8. It seem like an affordable gift from someone who would like to give but doesn't have much. It gives their friends and family alternatives and a range of expense in gift giving. I don't see the problem.

I think it just shows how childish their thinking is!!!

  9. Superguard9-toofunny. What was I thinking getting anything from Kate. I think Kate said it was something Jon's grandmother/mother told her when they were planning to marry or have kids to scare Kate away. Too bad it didn't scare her away, far away.

I remember the TH when Kate shared that information and yes it was Jon's mother or grandmother who told Kate the Asian gene was dominant and not to expect any children to not look Asian.  Kate went on to say how much she loved the Asian look speaking of her love for Jon (at that time!)

  10.

Her & Smuggar come across that they are the first parents to have their kiddos eat healthy

I do seem to recall them talking about eating healthy while they showed her in the kitchen sliding yet another batch of frozen food onto a cookie sheet and into the oven! Josh and Anna will always have to watch their weight and if they are eating out of a box so will those kids.  That turkey dinner was evidence enough of poor eating with a turkey that wasn't even big enough to feed the kids let alone adults, boxed stuffing and boxed potatoes.  The peanut butter is likely the kind full of sugar and salt, jelly full of sugar and put it on white bread and wow, what a healthy lunch!

  11. I mute her or turn it down when she comes on!  Horrible!  Squeaky, raspy and constant giggling like she is a 6 year old, when and how did this happen?!!  I guess she thinks if I say it cutesy wutesy enough they won't care what I say and no one will figure out how dumb I am!!  LOL
