  1. I've participated in this forum from the beginning, and it feels like deja vu all over again.  The same old ground gets stomped on, the same old toes get stepped on.

Another consideration is there are new posters joining the board all the time and the discussion topics are new to them.  And I am pretty sure PTV does not ask a new poster to read the last 15 pages of posts before posting to avoid covering the topic again.

  2. The thing about all of their learning is that it's computer, lecture or kinetic learning. There is nothing wrong with any of those three types, but it's terribly limited, just as it would be if someone's learning were only reading (and some people within that group didn't read very well.). There is also no attempt to get them to reflect or emotionally process anything they learn.

Agree that kind of learning has it's place and along with it is a need for practical experience.  I wouldn't want my doctor working on me after having only read about it and then trying to take my tonsils out!  LOL

  3.

A journey of addiction and a struggle with recovery.

They could just decide that if there isn't a tasteful, educational outlet to tell their story, then they just won't tell it.

I guess the other route might be a book.  I think their affiliation with a network like TLC definitely takes them down a notch.  I used to think of A&E as being such a great educational entertaining channel, same with TLC but they both stopped selling learning a long time ago.

  4. I have to admit, after following all of the other TL C families, I think the Arnold-Klein family is the nicest, and has the most class. It makes me wonder why they would affiliate themselves with this network.

I don't think they would still have a show if they had not adopted Will and Zoey.

  5. Can you imagine how many heads of broccoli it would take to feed a family of 22 for a meal!  Any amount of fresh fruit or vegetable for 22 people would be a lot to transport, store and prepare on a daily basis.  I guess they only get it when they are being filmed.  My friend's 2 year old daughter LOVES broccoli and asks for it at every evening meal!

  6. Watched some of the birthday clue episode today and have to say Michelle looked so young and so much better with that new hair do but it was clear she and JB did not like it and Jessa comments "it will grow back by the end of the year"....disgustingly caught in a time warp!  I did notice when her hair was straight how damaged it was with mega hair breakage.  And she was so uncomfortable walking from the car to the house because the wind was blowing it around a bit!! LOL  She is so used to a helmet head with a full can of hair spray on it!

  7. For a child who's nearly five I think her speech is way, way behind where it should be.  I used to work with kids Josie's age and younger, and she would've definitely stood out, language wise.

I guess I my filter is off.  What I see on another reality show is another child's speech being behind at about the same age.

  8. After reading so many comments about Josie and how viewers think she is behind in development I started watching for it but truly haven't seen it.  Her behavior is that of a spoiled princess but speech wise she seems to be doing ok, I could understand her and the last talking heads she wasn't copying a sibling.

She is doing far better than a child on another reality show!

  9. Sure Jen "pretended" she was seeking female friends by using an internet site but there are filters applied to searches and profiles and one of the first things is to separate by gender so accidentally finding Bill on there...um er ok!

I think Jen believes using an internet dating site is below her "class" and is something for everyday folks.  She certainly doesn't see herself that way.

TLC created the lie of Zoey preferring Jen to Bill in the first place for ratings/drama yet both Jen and Bill "pretended" that was the case.

I guess pretending or lying only hurts the viewers!

  10. I just watched a couple of the ones from the first season.  I watched Death Lends a Hand with Robert Culp.  He was always good when he played the killer.  This is the one with the shag rug and the contact lens.  I really enjoyed this one.  Then I watched Suitable For Framing with Ross Martin as the art critic.  He was one of the more unlikeable killers.  I did laugh when they were describing him as this great dresser.  Crushed velvet jacket and giant bowtie.  Oh yes, that was great.  I love the old fashions on this show.  Columbo with the landlady looking at the scrapbook had me cracking up.  She had to describe all the photos while Columbo was going crazy waiting to see the photo of the guy the dead girl had been dating.

It must have been watch Columbo night!  I watched another Robert Culp one as the killer, the one with subliminal frames.  It was so well done and written by Stephen Cannell.  I will have to see how many he wrote because it may turn out those are my faves.  The writing is superior.

I think the episodes made in the 70's were the "cream of the cream" (to quote from Wily Magician!).  I noticed last night a huge difference in Columbo's appearance from that era to the ones made a decade or so later.  His eyes were squinty shut in the later ones.  Last night his eyes were visible.

  11. My history of watching this family has been a hit and miss in the last couple of years.  Weddings can make people emotional and I imagine Matt felt that way at their first child's wedding and maybe felt some love and admiration for her as a result and became a little more human, it was nice to see.  Things were likely back to normal the next day.

  12. I was also shaking my head that they were moving a small refrigerator still filled with stuff! How about clearing it out, cleaning it, then move it to the new house?

I have to admit I thought how absolutely lazy to have not emptied the fridge.  There wasn't that much in it!  Even if they had put a strap around the door it would have helped except the contents would still topple over inside.  If that door had fallen open on someone it could have been very serious.  Obviously JB didn't have some movers over to move stuff for him so the family could learn that "trade!"

  13. If Derrick was my son, I would advise him just to sit through these counciling sessions and pretend that he doesn't think what they are saying is a bunch of nonsense. I would make sure he knew not to take a word of it seriously though. This way he keeps the peace with his in-laws, but those crazy people wouldn't really have a say in Derrick's life.

I think he heard you auntl and is playing a good game!
