My take on the 0.04 seconds is that it shows that Cooper's "experience" couldn't have been caused by the software, as the upload had just started. Seems to me that this is basically just an updated Jacob's Ladder scenario wherein someone's mind creates a fantasy involving elements from his life during his final moments.

Yes it looks like most people must have caught the West coast feed (or muted the monologue) since barely anyone has mentioned the S bomb. It was right after a line about smacking Adele, she just threw in a quick, "oh, shit!" I rewound a few times and I can't figure out why she said it, it wasn't like she flubbed a line or started to fall or something. I almost wonder if she did it on purpose, especially considering that she was singing a song about wanting a scandal. She can afford the fine. Overall an enjoyable episode. Ariana's Whitney brought tears to my eyes.

I definitely agree that the Rachel business is odd. It seems strange that they referred to her faked suicide as a message to Maggie instead of as a failed cover up, as if they know the killer wanted the fakery to be discovered. If we go with my theory above about Piper, my take would be that Rachel's suicide would make Emma feel extremely guilty while still leaving one of her few possible "real" friends, Audrey, alive. But I've got nuthin on how a message to Maggie fits in here. As far as we know, their past has not included any other suicides or death faking.

She dropped Emma off in a red Mini Cooper after they visited the old woman. I'm not sure who's left who might own the mystery car.

Like most around here, I'm on the Piper train, for the reasons Cranberry listed, and also because the show has never painted her as suspect at all and the only others we can say that about are Brooke and Emma (and I just can not believe it could be either of them). Now, if we look at who Piper has led Emma to suspect, it would be Audrey, Seth, and Kieran, so it seems like we could rule those 3 out as her co-killers. So if any of the high schoolers are involved, it has to be Noah or Jake. I'm leaning toward Noah, since he has the tech knowledge and the motive to get revenge on the cool kids. Perhaps Uncle Troy influenced him too. My only problem is that this seems a little too similar to some of the movies, so I'm thinking the motivation is going to be different somehow. Like, instead of Piper being jealous of Emma's life, perhaps this is her way of entering her life and acting sisterly by giving Emma a crisis where she needs someone to lean on while simultaneously getting rid of her unworthy, lying friends and boyfriend and helping her learn the truth about her mom's past?

Finally caught up on the last few eps and I agree that this one was better than most. I was really annoyed though that Claire was so shocked and opposed to the quarantine, when she, of all people, should understand that it is important and necessary. I definitely think Drill is the Prez's kid. Thomas said we called Drill here by doing a lot of nuclear testing, and we saw the kid who was almost possessed by Drill steal something like launch codes from his dad's safe. So the plan must be to set off a bunch of nukes as a signal to his people.

I've had too much time on my hands so I've over analyzed the bowling alley events. Jhlipton is right, Jake or Noah could be involved, both of them had a chance to put on the costume briefly. But there was a ghostface who wasn't either of them, which is the one who attacked from behind the door. The unaccounted for people who this could have been are: Kieran Piper The Mayor Mr Branson (Not counting people we haven't met which would also include Brandon James and Emma's dad.)

This is all just speculation, but I think people might be giving the creators of the show too much credit. These holes in the explanation that are making people think there's more to the story could just be things the creators forgot to consider, or could even be intentional creative choices, which I'm thinking is the case with the "looks more like 500 years in the future, not 2000 years" problem. Having nothing left over from the past would be more realistic, but would lack the clues needed to convince Ethan that Pilcher could be telling the truth. I think if someone escaped confinement and found nothing they expected to see at all, they would conclude that they were in a different place than they thought, not a different time, and it would be very difficult to convince them otherwise without some kind of tangible proof. They'd have to come up with an entirely different device for Ethan's discovery. A quarter can be faked, so can other things, would there be any way at all to convince a person after 2000 years that they are in the future, assuming this part of the story is true? Of course I could be wrong but for now, I'm buying the year 4028 part of the Truth. Is it the whole truth and nothing but the truth? Probably not. And I agree with the poster who said they were reminded of the doctor offering the pill to Arnold in Total Recall (the actors even look a bit similar) but in the case of WP I'd say there's a darn good reason for the doc to be nervous as an Abbie attack is about to strike, so I don't see this as evidence that he's lying. Was typing this before grandemocha's post appeared but I agree with him/ her above.

I saw an interview with one of the WP creators where he swore that even if this show happens to get renewed, this season will still be a self- contained story that will answer all of our questions by the end of this season. This. Why don't they just tell Ethan the truth? Clearly he is not going to be convinced to just play along, and some residents like Pope and the nurse do know, so why not? Wouldn't it be easier than dealing with his craziness? I think the time-grabbing theory is a good one and explains a lot, but my main problem with it is, how could the charade of normalcy work at all if everyone believes it is a different year? Beverly had to think it was 2000, Kate must think it is 2026, and obviously Ethan thinks it's 2014. Not talking about your past might help some inconsistencies, but there's no rule saying not to talk about what year it is. Are there no calendars in WP? I did notice that the Wyoming license plate had a "14" sticker on it, but perhaps it could be 100 years or more in the future (or this could just be a prop error.) I don't know. I rewatched the sheriff scenes and aside from the slicked-back hair, he looks the same in "2014" as in WP. Same with Dr. Jenkins, who has thinning hair so it would have been easy for them to just give him less hair in WP. With Kate, they went overboard to show she'd aged, not just a soft-focus lens but I think they even used digital effects to make her look younger in her "past". So at this point I'm not sure what to think. I'm wondering if this could be a result of the new vote limits. This is usually the part of the season where America seems to systematically get rid of most of the people of color, so I was thrilled to see that wasn't the case this year. As for The Dress, I thought it was clever that Jax wore it, but she seemed a little shy about it when Ryan brought it up so that makes me think it wasn't her idea.

I was pretty surprised to read that, and I'm worried I'm getting pulled into another Lost situation where things are going to make even less sense going forward because there is no plan. And if it turns out that some of the twists being speculated here come true, it could be because the writers got the ideas from us. Is this what it's like in Shondaland?
