  1. @stacey are we secret sisters?!? :D
  2. A fantastic story going on over at http://gingerhaze.com/nimona/comic/page-1 She'll be taking the entire story to Scholastic for publishing when it's done on the web. I LOVE her art style. For more fun search her Broship of the Ring pieces. Sweet without the saccharine and funny too. Any other fans over here?
  3. @Omar I think we are following a lot of the same people on twitter! If you say you are reading Mike Allred's Fantastic Four run and Pretty Deadly we'll be all synced up!
  4. I didn't mind the denouement (I was snottily crying back there because they write that shit for me to cry at), I was more surprised that it surprised me. I didn't see it coming. :)
  5. Girls in boarding school learn the ins & outs of crime in Baltimore.
  6. @Spynotebook nailed it! Also any comic by Kelly Sue Deconnick is worth picking up. There is a Spider-Man / Captain Marvel crossover that she did that I love.
  7. Absolutely @Tara, he actually says he's 15 years older than Persephone so that puts him at 33. I'd like to see Paul Bettany try an American accent.
  8. It's on my list! Did you read any of Kelly Sue Deconnick's run of Captain Marvel?
  9. Yep I did see that. I hope they would not have Denzel in the lead. I'd like to see someone younger in the role. I'd like to know how the New York felt for those who have lived there. The slow exodus of the city felt like it could really happen. I live in a big city whose nucleus has fallen apart so there are these almost ripple effects of where the money has moved here. It's a more realistic version of an apocalypse, the slow dying off of the mammoth cities. It's a stark contrast with Super Sad True Love Story and the near future it supposes. (Another book I started today)
  10. @Dave I would revise and say it's like the love child of Robert Parker, William Gibson, & Andrew Vachass. I really liked the non-linear reveals. It was nice that Adam gave us credit for keeping up with his plotting. Great voice for the main character and I already want to see a movie of this though the gore level might be too high. I'm already casting it in my head!
  11. Ooh Dark City. That was a fantastic movie. Good tone. OK, I'll be reading it today so I'll pop back over after I'm done. OT: Aw now I'm remembering that PSH was in Dark City and I'm sad but also wowed that he was in SO many different things.
  12. Yes! So (as I am ALSO a Cate) how about: when a tough black Chief Detective from the south has to make a bust in NYC after 6pm he finds himself among some wacky characters in this after hours judgement hall.
  13. Breathlessly awaiting @Kate's return.
  14. I thought I would be OK but I did a little ugly cry at the end. Leslie almost didn't want waffles!! THAT is a true BFF.
  15. I just started and I love it so far. Anyone else reading it? @Dave if you see this can you edit my dumb spelling mistake in Adam's last name?
  16. I love this show! To Dave's point, my kid got me in trouble because her teacher thought I was letting her watch a show about drug addicts in rehab. Yay mom of the year! My brother lives in Minneapolis and when we visit we try to check out her houses.
