  1. That whole Breakfast Loophole bit would've fit right at home on Seinfeld, including someone bringing their own eggs. But only Curb would have Larry going so far to go into the kitchen and bringing Willie Geist with him to find out why they're not cooking his eggs.

"I am not Big D. Little D all the way!" Larry IS disgruntled, but Jeff being Disgruntled took me by surprise. Of course being married to Susie, he'd have to vent in a Martin Luther way. And OF COURSE Susie knows he's Disgruntled, and hates that he's too spineless to sign his own name on the letter.  I liked how a I Am Spartacus moment saves the day! But then the couples therapist accidentally outs Jeff anyway. I got a feeling that the Willie Geist interview is gonna bite Larry in the ass in a big way in the coming weeks.

Oh man, they called out the Seinfeld finale! They're definitely setting up the ending of the show being a callback to it.

"You ain't a piss doctor! You're an ASS doctor!" Man, Leon was slaying me this week.

  2. Boat: You're Kriling Me, Smalls

    Shirt: Farty in The USA

Jane Lynch as the long lost Aunt Dirt was fun. Living in a bunker for 60 years, and the first thing Wolf wants to do with her is show her the Look Who's Talking cinematic universe. And what sticks with her is the slang. Sure, "lol" means "lots of loss."

"What if a hamburger could help you?"

Moon getting straight up rejected by Quinn was devastating. And taking a pig to the practice prepper prom?! Man. But at least they made up in the end. And man, I've been feeling like Moon lately, so I could relate hard.

Wow, they were eating Tostitos Scoops, and I was eating Tostitos Scoops while watching this!

  3. There's a Kidney-pper AND a Kid-napper? I like that they exchange each other's mail.

Marvin becomes McGruff the Crime Dog as the new cool vigilante to solve all the cool crimes he can't work on was fun. I liked the reveal that it was all a setup by Lt. Kang to teach him a lesson. That isn't learned. Also loved how no one knew that Marvin was McSnuff.

I like Mr. Flesh as a sort of greek chorus for Stan (I liked all his outfits in this, like the lunch lady), but eventually someone else is gonna be able to see him. This seems like the type of show that'll go in that direction.

  4. Hippocampus revealing that he was an orphan himself was a surprise. (EDITL And nothing really came of that reveal, unless he really did eventually find Schlub after he built his wheelchair apparatus)

And oh no, Hippo inventing school taught kids to be bloosthursty revolutionaries. And Tyrannis's crush on Annarkis turns into a revolution he accidentally started and then ended because he brought her into the system and the status quo. (Oh, she's named Annarkis. For anarchy. How did I not piece that together at first?)

I was hoping we'd see more of Mr. Straw and how they'd make some allusion to him being a literal Straw Man, but apparently he'll return someday.

  5. Lisa's full of anxiety that stems for her parents. I feel seen, as the kids say.

It felt weird to see actual sponsors on the Go-karts. I caught Pokemon Go, Lunchables, and Pampers Pull-Ups on some of them.

Poor Yoshi. He really is the Milhouse of Mario Kart. All the car crashes were beautifully animated.

Matt Berry really does make everything better.

It did feel like something he put together maybe ten minutes before he went on air.  It was awkward, and if that was stuff from his act, it makes me wonder how he has such a big following.

Apparently that was his signature bit...

He's big with the Joe Rogan crowd. That alone should tell you everything.

Jamaican Church: Ego was the best in this. I have no idea what was happening, but I liked Ego in this. Those were spot-on accents.

A friend of mine LOVED this sketch because he has a Jamaican boss that sounds and acts exactly like Ego's character.

And I don't watch The Floor, but apparently it was making fun of contestants who can't identify the black people.

  8. Cold Open: Even when he's not in the sketch, Trump just looms over these sketches. Devon Walker is still great as Tim Scott. That didn't need to be five minutes long without so much as a punchline.

Monologue: You know it's gonna be a long 90 minutes when Shane's opening statement is "Don't Google me." He definitely does have that high school football coach energy. That was...awkward. I have no idea why he's hosting, and I don't think he knows, either.

Jamaican Church: Ego was the best in this. I have no idea what was happening, but I liked Ego in this. Those were spot-on accents.

Rock Bottom Kings: A gambling app about gambling about what your gambling addict friend's lowest gambling moment will be is something I'm sure will exist eventually, as if that in itself isn't YOUR rock bottom moment. I'd take those odds on the friend faking their death but get caught immediately because they used a gambling app.

HR Meeting: I thought Shane was allright here, but the rest of the cast really shined here.

White Men Can Trump: Trump shoes sketch! And here's the requisite Trump impression sketch. Shane's impression IS dead-on, and loved him dueling Trump with JAJ. Shane's voice is more accurate, but JAJ's cadence and his rambling are funnier to me. The tie getting longer was the best part, and the Air Bidens gag was funny.

The Floor: Shane and Ego had good chemistry here. "Game show contestants always get stuff wrong" is hard to pull off well, but Ego really made it work. I can definitely buy Shane's character only being able to identify Cleveland from Family Guy, and Ego calling Michaelangelo's David "Mr. Penis." Also liked Bowen calling milk "clam chowder without the clams" and "white orange juice."

WU: Donald Trump: undefeated everywhere except court. And if this was a few years ago, Kyle Mooney would've played the frozen embryo. Bowen as Truman Capote was an impression that definitely wasn't on the bingo card this week.

20 Year Reunion: Oh wow, a Forrest Gump sketch in 2024. Centering the sketch around one of his classmates that peaked in high school was a good premise. Shane was giving off a vibe of Brendan Fraser playing Danny McBride.

Fugliana: Sarah Squirm sketch! She sells "weird sex doll" so perfectly, she was just trying to make Shane break. Love how all the girls were just so gung-ho on looking so weird as the Fuglianas. "I'm 36 but look 52" is 100% the vibe Shane Gillis gives off.

Targeted Ads: Shane delivering lines in a way that he was trying to activate a sleeper cell. Just awkard, and it definitely feels like everyone was watching the clock to try to finish the sketch before time ran out.

To be honest, I think Shane Gillis definitely would've worked as a cast member, but WOOF was this episode rough. "Problematic heavyset white guy" is a niche this show hasn't filled in a while. "Wish dot com John Candy" was where my mind went to, especially during the HR sketch.

Next week is Sydney Sweeney, so expect the writers to dust off those "this host is hot!" sketches again. Sigh.

  10. "Church and home are the only places where I'm lit." I liked the callback to the fire episode.

"I do not want to live in a world where white people explain dance moves to me." Barbara saying "GYAN-JA" and "THE DEVIL'S LETTUCE!" were just the best. I don't think she had a bad line tonight. She was on fire this whole episode.

Janine smokes weed?! Wasn't expecting that. I loved that Mr. Johnson thinks that's why "her feet so big."

That FADE assembly was wonderfully cringey. And Aparna Nancherla was there! She is of course an Energy Vampire (see this past season of What We Do in The Shadows), so she was perfect here.

"That belief interferes with my perception of reality." Mood, Janine.

But man, Melissa nailed it with the "F.A.D.E. is the government's fault" line. She's not wrong. Total flashbacks to D.A.R.E. and random locker searches from my school days, and indeed, they did absolutely nothing to stop kids at my school from drinking or doing drugs. I loved Gregory and Melissa taking the time to talk to Curtis, and working with Janine to get his suspension lifted. Would that more adults could be like that with children when it comes to stuff like this.

Oh yeah, that was all incredibly sweet.

And I went to a college where the one big major was child study, so I have tons of stories of now-teachers drinking and doing every drug under the sun.

Not for nothing, but giving a dog as a gift is a terrible idea. Larry's gift was way better.

Come on, it was Susie's. It was a gift from Cheryl and Ted. It was cute. That dog was just asking to die, and wow, it didn't!

On that note, I for sure thought the homeless guy was gonna get hit by a car! It was just a setup for the bagel getting tossed.

Hitting the guy with the bagel wasn't at the club, so Larry could have told him to pound sand.

Oh yeah. And here I thought Larry was in trouble for the bathroom lesson.

I enjoyed Larry and JB going ballistic over Wordle. I think they could have mined that a little more.

Susie going ballistic over being spoiled was great. Larry's "you never got anything in two!" at Ted was great, too.

Lunella learns that a stolen Kree artifact is about to cause a cataclysmic storm, but when none of the adults believe her, she must swipe it herself.

Oh good, Kid Kree's not gonna be a one episode wonder.

I've been loving this season so far, but I don't like they're running two a week. And the whole show hinges on everyone binging this show on D+ the moment it dropped.

Sure did. The story goes that Matt doodled the Simpson family before his pitch meeting so he wouldn't sell the rights away to Life in Hell.

  15. Larry trying to reason that losing your father-in-law isn't as bad as losing your father was just great.

So Susie got a puppy for her birthday from Cheryl and Ted. I thought Larry's gift was better. Larry was in the right about not caring if Frankie was dead. But the sigh of relief I had when he turned out to be alive. So the key to a good episode: yell at a dog. Last week didn't have it, that's why I thought it was the weakest of the three so far.

Man, the whole scene on the golf course was fantastic. Richard and Larry arguing about the will was probably just a real conversation they were having that got filmed.

Leon's balls saved the day! And Larry used it on Mr. Takahashi was gold.

  16. Episode 2 seems too soon to be meta about making a show based on the show. Man, Stan couldn't even get his fake dad to like him.

We got some development on the ex-wife: She was raised by bears. Which definitely explains the scars and the ear tag.

I liked Flute killing all the cartoon rabbits in his mind.

Alan Tudyk's characters are the best part of this show so far.

  17. Boat: Fish Fish Bang Bang

Wolf's Shirt: Life on The Gas Lane

Sasquatch sighting: eating out of a trash can while Jerry and Moon were leaving a party. It even ran off!

Jack McBrayer as Beef's dead penis cloud! (That's something I never thought I'd type). And hey, it's Grimsburg Jon Hamm as Beef's Heart Dennis! Love the turn of phrases in this show like "Downstairs Dad."

"I'm Sex Tobin. I'm here to Beef you." Love all the attempts to get Beef back on his sex horse. Just how many of them were the same woman? And also Delmer matched with him.

Man, Nick Offerman was knocking his performance out of the park this week. Hell, I love Jenny Slate's completely uncomfortable performance here, too. Watch Judy in the background! She was a hoot.

Jerry and Moon's plot was cute, and of course it gets weird with the clowns. I'm glad they had the sense to run off the moment it was gonna get violent.

  18. So the "contagion" is Empathy, and it makes everyone not want to kill each other and they can't deal with that. Okay, that's clever.

Okay, Deliria with empathy and regret just felt wrong. And of course Tyrannis is chewed out by her when he has to cure her.

  19. Title: Angel Flanders, Devil Homer

Couch Gag: The family as leaves, they dry up and fall to the ground, and Willie blows them away.

Of course Homer only knows how to do his job is because Frink is just offscreen telling him how to do it. Frink was even in his ear at his home life. This was definitely a comment on ChatGPT, wasn't it? Homer just uses it to write dirty limericks.

Oh boy, a combo of Lisa's song and the more qualified person Homer took the job from ("You'll have to be more specific!" got a big laugh from me) got through to Marge to get Homer to tell the truth. I bet someone's gonna be thrilled about that last minute turn.

How far they've come: everyone in Moe's has an Emmy. Barney uses two for corn holders.

"This is the 691st time you've left us for another job." I liked yet another montage of all of Homer's jobs. It even included the one from this week, plus a future job as the Zardoz Head "coming in Season 49." They even referenced the dome from the movie! Also loved that Smithers has forms for how Homer's leaving the job, and another for when Homer inevitably comes back every week.
