  1. Man, if ep 9 was an indication for the rest of the season, we might be in for a good time. I thought this was the best one so far.

Okay, Wed Zepplin is a great pun for a wedding band (that in itself is also a great pun). And I liked that no one really wore good disguises. And yet Kang couldn't tone down the raw sexuality with that big parka of his.

  2. Boat: Mackerel Number five

    Wolf's Shirt: Fartbreak Hotel

So...revolving an episode around Cheesecake. Just a failure of a man that I wasn't too jazzed to see them try to carry a whole story. I wanted more of Beef's plot with Carissa.

Well, it was good to see Dirtrude again so soon. I also liked the cruise ship people enamored with Beef for being an Authentic Alaskan Man.

  3. Neighbor: The Mighty Mighty Sauce Clones

    Off Brand Condiments

Exterminator: Take An Ants on Me

Burger of The Day: Swiss Congeniality Burger, The Scarlet Cheddar Burger

Nice callback to The Belchies with the town's history of bootlegging. The tour guide (the great Andy Daly) was lots of fun! Usually those types are wet blankets. And we got to see Fisch's secret lair and the storage space under the pier from the movie again! And of course some deus ex machina would rob Louise of her treasure, and of course it was Fisch. It was sweet that Louise framed the $17.

We got to see Logan again! Loved how embarrassing Cynthia continues to be.

Really liked the B plot with the street performers, especially the creepy guy with the pipes. And of course he wins. The balloon dragon was really cool.

Way back I saw her a few times on the Nickelodeon show Victorious, which my son used to watch. She was pretty good.

Yeah, like Kenan, she came from the Nickelodeon/Dan Schneider factory, so she definitely had the chops for this.

  5. Cold Open: Okay, everyone was expecting a sketch about the Republican rebuttal the SOTU...and then focus on Biden. At least at first. And then they brought in ScarJo for Katie Britt. I kinda wish I saw the real thing, because I missed a hell of a thing. Loved the Get Out reference with Kenan. And at least we got Heidi as MTG. Yeah, that actually happened.

And they showed the real footage on Update. My god, that really WAS The Sunken Place!

Monologue: Oh that's right, Josh Brolin wrote that weird poem about Timothee Chalamet. Love that he leaned into it. "Josh Brolin stripping down and taking an ice bath" was not on my Bingo card tonight.

Bank Robbery: Josh and Heidi were so into this, I liked this.

Ad Astra: Great song, and I couldn't get over the wigs.

People Pleasers Support Group: It's already a great premise, and that it's group therapy made it even better. I feel seen, as the kids say.

Wine & Cheese: Oh, the happiness when the cat that doesn't like people gets attached to you. And the audacity when it goes to someone else. Those black, beady eyes on the cat puppet weirded us all out, right? Oh man, that was great. Was not expecting it to be so bloody! Even caught the arm controlling the puppet at the end, and the blood hose.

Shrimp Tower: Josh Brolin committed to this 1000%. I knew this was a Squirm sketch the moment she showed up. I laughed a lot in this one.

Shonda: Kenan and Marcello just NOPE'D out of that sketch so quick when they revealed Jerry was in a wheelchair lol. That was an adventure. Hell, you know this sketch went weird when SARAH nope'd out of it.

WU: Sleepy Joe woke the hell up. And of course they moved the "seen here" jokes to other people, like Krysten Sinema being "all the Flintstones at once." And the graphics department was having fun, like with Humpback Mountain. This was a strong one, and it was short! There were no guests! That doesn't happen very often.

Moulin Rouge: I was missing Reese DeWHAT here (even though that's Cinema Classics and not PBS). And I got a kick out of the jukebox songs going to the public domain well. (Happy Birthday wasn't public domain when the movie was made, but I liked the sketch regardless)

Sandwich King: Man, the editing and sound mixing was awkward in this one. This was a weird sketch, but that kept throwing it off for me. The moldy sandwiches, the refilled sodas, the pickles in the listerine bottle were all great, but this had to be the weakest sketch all night.

Lisa From Temecula: Out of everything for 12:55, they dust off this sketch?! At least they changed it up this time with something else shaking the table. Was "Negrodivergent" added for the live version? Because it made Bowen break.

Weird SNL came out to play tonight, and we were all thankful for it. The last two sketches were flat, but that was the best ep in a while, that's for sure. It's a low bar, definitely.

  6. Thanks to this site giving every show its own forum instead of just grouping everything in the Animation section, I forgot this show had a thread!

So, I binged all of season 3 the moment it dropped, and man it was great. Obviously, the Space Ghost episode was the best one. It was great hearing Andy Merrill and George Lowe back as Brak and Space Ghost. And the guys they got for Zorak and Moltar were damn good soundalikes.

My other favorite was the one with Goober and The Ghost Chasers. I got a big laugh out of them just being disgusted by Goober. Also loved the Laff-a-Lympics tribute where the rival town were literally just the Really Rottens. And of course, the Top Cat episodes were great, too.

All I wanted out of this show was to tell fun stories with the classic Hanna-Barbera characters and give some deep cuts, and this show delivered in spades. Hell, there were characters I had to look up! Cool Cat from the disco episode appeared in only ONE episode of "Heyyy, It's The King," for one. Raspberry Rover was a giant reference to all the Huckleberry Hound merch where he was red instead of blue.

  7. And now the show is back.

I liked the swipes at Bob's Burgers. Yep, Bob's got the old 9pm time slot, and Family Guy got punted to 9:30 on a Wednesday.

"It looks like a Stephen King novel before anything bad happens" perfectly describes Maine vacation towns. I liked that Quagmire was the one that was really anal about sticking to an itinerary. And I had a feeling that it would miss the Bear Show, but the very last one? Yeah, I'd be hurt, too.

It was weird hearing Patton Oswalt voice a character that looked nothing like him. I mean, he's had plenty of voice over roles, but by design you could tell he voiced them. The Bear Show guy was too generic looking to me.

Can't believe we missed out on a Brian and Stewie adventure! The whole thing turned out to be a heart attack dream, anyway.

Why is Fox so ride or die with Krapopolis? Is it that good? I can't imagine Family Guy isn't pulling in steady ratings for the last 20 years to move it.

Because they ordered three seasons sight unseen. And it's actually pretty decent!

I'd say Larry was correct that Mantle is a better last name than Zeckelman, but I think he was wrong when he said that whoever provides the sperm should also pass down their last name. If one father provides the sperm and the other provides the name, that drives home the message that they're both the kid's parents.

I loved that he pitched Deegan, after the Major Deegan Expressway. (I guess it's funnier if you're from the NYC area)

Re: the fish - I thought it was odd that the restaurant employee didn't want to admit that the fish died. He'd been claiming that the fish was sick, so he could just say, "Yeah, he died, I told you he was sick!"

"Fish living a good life downtown! Fish thriving!"

Getting elected on a write in seemed a little hacked to me. I don't see that she's so popular around town to be a write in.

At least the fence lady admitted her write-in vote was a joke.

Anyone giving out the full sized candy bars should be mayor.

Same, and being dead for five years shouldn't have stopped her from getting re-elected.

  11. Aww, Richard Lewis tribute right at the start. And he was in this one! Of course he was doing standup at the AA meeting. I hope he got to record that Drunk As Hell concert. Loved that he opened up the moment Larry said he'd put him in the will.

I knew Larry was totally gonna ruin his chance with the good lawyer over the last name. Zeckleman totally needs a great first name! And of course he was played by Dan Levy. And in true Curb fashion, it ends with his case going to trial, and four more bricks calling him out, including one from Irma. I knew getting rid of her was surprisingly easy, and she runs into the ONE person that exposed the ruse.

"Tinkerbell fine as fuck." I KNEW Freddy's girl worked for Disney to the extent that she worked as a face character. I thought Disneyland, but the Disney Store worked so much better. And she gave great notes! I died at the Minnie Mouse backpack.

Oh man, that "Disrespectful to Women" brick. Just WHY was Larry going to Cheryl about the brick?! Next to Susie, she's the last person he should be going to! And then he goes to Susie, too!

  12. I appreciate Flute running through town to find a disguise only to put the same clothes back on. I also liked the tall girl that couldn't be understood because her head's out of frame.

So Prince Philip didn't die, just fled to Grimsburg to become a janitor. I liked that all the janitors in Grimsburg were people who fled high stress jobs.

Trauma Club Stan looked like an Emo Harry Potter, complete with a lightning bolt (at least on a button). I am liking the running gang of the school bullies being comprised of boys from stable families.

So...no one else can see Mr. Flesh, but other kids can summon rejected demons like Oil, and other people can see the slick he leaves?

  13. Boat: A Dinghy Ate My Baby

    Shirt: The Queef's Gambit

Man, wasn't expecting Honeybee winning mayor for a day. I knew that approving everyone's weird requests was gonna bite her in the ass, and of course the fence request set off a war with Whippleton and Ted's Folly.

Honeybee taking a soggy hoagie bullet for Wolf while a cover of The Bodyguard theme plays is peak Relationship Goals.

"There are no small proposals, just small mayors. Which are different than short kings, who I love and respect."

I love how into it the family was on the makeovers.

  14. Yep, Hestia's retreat was a death cult. But it being an excuse for her human companion to gather gods to kill them was a good twist.

I did like how the Argonauts all immediately died, and Homer knew and just wanted to see how far the family would keep up with their ruse. And then he grew a sexy mane of hair and went to Mt. Olympus...only to be speared by Heracles. Honestly wasn't expecting that ending.

  15. Cold Open: Finally, a sketch about Biden! Daily Show beat SNL to this bit about everyone saying how great he is but won't actually show us them. But Daily Show didn't give us the image of Biden trying to parkour. Train Time is real, though.

Monologue: "You definitely didn't see me in Madame Web." It says a lot when the most emotion she showed was when they cut to Glen Powell in the audience.

NYPD Interns: I kept thinking of "hated it!" from Men on Film whenever the two girls said :found him." Loved JAJ trying to imitate them.

Please Don't Destroy: Definitely had the most PDD way to die. Kinda dumb, but I liked Chef Boyardee showing up at the end.

Air Bud: Okay, a cheerleader earnestly trying to hit on Air Bud is a fun premise. And Air Bud had a girlfriend and Sydney Sweeney was offended by it was funny. She was a trooper for selling this so much.

Big Bench: Apparently a parody of Hot Bench, which has three judges. So this one has 17. Er, 16 and a dog. A different dog than Air Bud, to boot. I liked this one. Ego was definitely the MVP.

Bowen's Straight: Straight Bowen? He's showing off range!

Bride: Wasn't a fan of all the "Shoooots." Weird how Chloe Troast was swapped out with Molly as the camera cut away from her the first time.

WU: I'm gonna miss the Mitch McConnell "seen here" jokes. I had the captions on, but I still had no idea what Heidi as the Golden Bachelorette was saying most of the time. And man, the wardrobe department needs an award for Ego's pregnant stringray costume (THAT wasn't on my bingo card) and the clips holding Heidi's skin together. Ego's bit was surprisingly great.

Hooters: Okay, liked seeing Bowen in this one. I wish he somehow got more tips than Sydney. "I was a crossing guard, thousands died." was the line of the sketch. And yes, Hooter B Owl is real, but he doesn't look like Nite Owl from Watchmen.

Airbnb: Oh, this wasn't a commercial, it was a sketch. It was CRIMINAL for the only shout out to that AI Wonka experience in Glasgow to be hidden in this sketch.

Date Night: I can't get over Dismukes's mustache. Yep, nothing kills rowdiness like an earnest statement of affection. or reminders of their mother's humanity. But not even Dismukes's mustache could save his girl from Glen Campbell. Powell

Well, only SOME of the sketches about Sydney Sweeney being hot and had boobs, but at least she was funny and was all in on being silly. Otherwise, this one was just okay.

  17. "What is a choir if not a sorority for The Lord?" Ava speaking true words once again. Also loved her naming the gym the Ava Coleman Memorial Coliseum.

"You think they can keep me away from a place that gives out free money on a free plate?" Oh my god, I'm dying.

The sub screaming was a hell of a mood. And I wasn't expecting the reveal of the sub to be that they were nonbinary and changing their name messed up the records.

I'm glad Barbara finally got her moment to shine. Not surprised that SHE was too modern for the church ladies. I have the feeling Ava related to Barbara so much was that she was in her position in her sorority. I know exactly how ruthless sorority mean girls can be (And Ava is definitely the type to have been in one that ONLY let in mean girls)

Loved Mr. Johnson in this. He just wants to be included, but he does NOT want to be part of a thruple. That he was listening in through a bucket against the wall was gold.

Jacob, woof, that was painful, trying to be so awful that Zach breaks up with him because he was too scared to do it himself.

I did like that Beef put his foot down after four days. Bob and Linda do not do that enough.

Letting Moon use the bunker but he insisted that he still had to go to school first (even if Moon ran away) is something Bob and Linda would NEVER do.

    21 hours ago, DoctorAtomic said:

Jane Lynch is perfect for this show.

I couldn't imagine anyone else playing a lesbian prepper aunt that had been living in a bunker since the 60s. And since the bunker isn't locked anymore, it gives an opportunity for the cast to come visit her, and vice-versa whenever the plot needs her.

    21 hours ago, DoctorAtomic said:

I liked that Honey and Wolf were all in on showing Aunt all the movies.

Mean Streets and Hubie Halloween is a hell of a double feature. With taste like that, I'm not surprised that Wolf was unaware that they made movies before 1964.

Do we think it's Jerry Seinfeld who called him an asshole?

It might be easier to write a list of who wouldn't call Larry an asshole. (EDIT: and yes, I do realize that's the joke. Who out of everyone called him an asshole? Larry's not gonna let that go.)

    20 minutes ago, aghst said:

Larry can afford to be at any country club, which would cater to his every demand.

He can hire a private chef to make him eggs any time, any way he wants it.

In fact, why not open a spite country club and golf course?

But for all his money, he's going to continue being a member of a club which gives him agita because he wants to be in a perpetual Disgruntled state.

However, that discontent, especially over picayune matters, gave him a infinitely lucrative career and fortune.

It's also because it's the closest one to his house! Jeff's house can be seen from the golf course, as shown last week.
