  1. The Love God was essentially Bender inhabiting Jack Black's body

Loved how Waddles/Gompers match was just duct taping the two together, so I absolutely loved the montage of them together at the end.

Stan's "I EAT KIDS" balloon was just the best. That was such a great payoff. "It's heaven's punishment for our terrible taste in everything!"

  2. Well this episode was amazing. Hell, this was the best of the three Thanksgiving episodes.

"Okay, don't start a brothel while we're gone!"

"Linda, it's me Teddy! From your town!"

Once again, Fischoeder's brother ruined everything. But Zach Galfinakis and Kevin Kline made a great team, it's really hilarious when they work together.

"I had malaria!" Man, I want to see that story with the Pesto twins. Also, the story of how that guy died on the Tickle Boat especially after we actually saw it.

I loved Bob's little backstory. Rocking out to Donna Summer was one of the best things. You know, Drunk Bob and Regular Archer are eerily similar people. Then again, Archer is drunk like, 24/7.

ETA: Linda: Queen of the Peckers.

  3. Man, Scully & Hitchcock are so lame that they can pull off a Fake Birthday scam and everyone buys it. And then Scully drinks thumbtacks, that was just the perfect capper.

Jackie Donger was totally a guy who would go by that and not Jack Danger.

"Imagine a letter had unprotected sex with a phone." I loved Boyle tonight. I also loved his description of old stamp glue tasting like "a horse lollipop."

I don't think I need to stress that the flashbacks are awesome. Fat Terry? Holt at the pony races? Gold.

  4. Loved the couch gag. Everyone was too distracted

So we finally meet King Toot, and he's voiced by Will Forte. I really liked him, but I miss that Droopy guy who Homer got Lisa's sax reed from.

I would eat at 'Zerz. I've had an idea for an all-appetizer restaurant, and of course The Simpsons got to it first.

So Homer, Rev. Lovejoy, Kirk, Apu, and Dr. Hibbert form a jam band. I, too was shocked at Apu's singing voice. Between classic rock and the barbershop quartet, he's got some pipes. Hell, I actually liked this plot. Apu gets discovered by the Sungazer much like whatshisface & Journey. And hey, Sanjay finally got to do something! I expected him to take Apu's place in the band, so kudos for having him poison the band with Kwik-E-Mart hot dogs. I also loved the gang actually getting arrested for the poisoning and all the sick band members taking their place.

Nice to see that Gabbo & Arthur Crandall were invited to Sideshow Mel's 45th birthday party.

According to Matt Selman's twitter, Genesis would not license “Invisible Touch” because they didn’t like them comparing the Peter Gabriel & Phil Collins eras of the band.

ETA: I liked Sammy Hagar's cameo. I just loved that last shot of him, Moe, King Toot and Apu in prison. I really wanted to see them try to escape.

  5. Cold Open: Schoolhouse Rock is here to explain how a bill dies in congress these days. Although a sketch explaining how there actually IS an immigration bill in congress right now, but the Republicans just won't vote on it because they just want to blame it on Obama. That might've justified the whole "let's shove an innocent bill down the Capitol Hill steps" thing.

Monologue: Ah, a "Q&A From Fake Audience Members" monologue. Definitely a break from all those damn songs. Of course the best question came from Leslie Jones.

Back Home Baller: "Twin Bed" sequel! I definitely relate to the awkward questions from neighbors. And once again Leslie Jones was the best. I still think the first "Twin Bed" short was better.

Annie: "My name is Jamie Foxx, I mean Daddy Warbucks." Here's the requisite "Annie" sketch, and Leslie Jones is the perfect Annie. I'll admit I choked on my own laughter at that reveal. Jay as Jamie Foxx looked so much like Eddie Murphy I thought it was really Eddie.

Nest-Spresso: This would be horrifying if it wasn't so adorable. I liked how Vanessa didn't know how it worked, only that it incubates chicken eggs as long as you don't put them in upside-down. It's really one of the most useless products I've ever seen. Which, of course, makes it such a great bit.

Whispers of America: "So which one's your daughter?" "I'd rather not say." With their background in theater, I'm sure that several castmembers have either seen or been a part of weird productions like this.

WU: "For more on this immigration story, bring this up to your grandfather on Thanksgiving." Kate McKinnon is always gold. And I'll admit, I laughed a lot at Taran as Charles Manson.

Mr. Patterson: The Baby Boss is back! Always appreciate Kenan & Sasheer trying to keep a straight face.

Dr. Dave & Buggles Animal Hour: Heh, it's like Brian Fellow, except more depressing. I think the monkey escape should've happened earlier in the sketch. But then again, the long drawn-out lament of Kenan kinda distracted us from that. I think this just went on a little too long.

Good Neighbor: This was silly, and pretty realistic. I can relate.

Poetry: We've seen this character before, I just know it. I've had a few English teachers that were like her.

Night Murmurs: It's like the Porn Stars are back at work. This was so freaking weird but I loved it. Loved Kate in this.

I thought this episode was simply "okay," which is pretty good. I thought it lost some steam after update, but I think it was due to the lack of Leslie Jones.

Did anyone else listen to the second song and think of "Too hot in the hot tub!" the entire time?

  6. Did Bob get a new one? I recall it being destroyed by the mechanical shark in The Deepening.

No, it's the same one. It still has the dents in it!

I thought it was awesome when Bob showed up and Mike was just getting tons of ice cream behind the counter. Then when Bob didn't challenge him about it he just shrugged and kept on getting more. :D

"That's weird, usually I'm over there." I loved that so much.

  7. Not gonna lie, I laughed really hard at the cockfighting roosters playing Magic.

So not only is Randy Lorde but also the Great Flydini? I loved how the drum music followed Randy everywhere, plus we saw an actual drummer.

This episode was great up until that ending. Still no clue what's going on.

  8. My favorite bits in no particular order:

    1) The giant bee. All of the animals with Bruce's voice were great, but that one was my favorite. I still crack up at "Bye, world."

    2) The ipecac scene. So very disgusting, but it's the obviously over the top vomiting sounds they all make that makes it all work for me.

    3) The cutaway with Peter turning the house into a giant puppet. I don't think I've laughed harder at any moment from this show than that one.

    4) The first appearance of the Kool-Aid Man. Such perfect timing.

    5) This bit from Ollie Williams:

    Ollie: "Bring me some soup!"

    Tom Tucker: "What kind?"

    Ollie: "Chunky!"

    6) Essentially, anything Adam West does, but my favorite has to either be "Nobody messes with Adam We," or him eating taffy.

ETA: The part from "Mr. Griffin Goes to Washington," where the CEO chooses Peter to be "That Guy," and it immediately cuts to Peter about to stick his tongue into a fan.

  9. According to the episode guide, this episode aired tonight, not on the 23rd. Odd that they'd save the Thanksgiving episode for the week before Thanksgiving.

Bob becomes Teddy’s workout buddy after finding out his burgers contributed to Teddy’s bad health. The two enroll in a stuntman boot camp where their friendship is put to the test. Meanwhile, the kids make an ice rink in the freezer, with Linda running their underground ice wrestling league.

Neighbor: Gift Rappers: Freestyle Gift Wrapping

Burger(s) of the Day: Romaines of The Day Burger, Sub-Concious Burger (on a sub roll), Parsnips-Vous Francais Burger, Beet-er Late Than Never Burger, Peas and Thank You Burger. Yeah, I loved that Bob's nightmare had its own Burger of The Day.

"I should've put on my higher socks. You guys call them pants."

I like how the show finally addressed Teddy and Mort eating at Bob's Burgers every day. At least Mort usually gets soup (and I think we can actually see him eating the soup on occasion). I really wanted to see more of Teddy in Glengarry Glen Ross.

I love how all the kids got into bed once Bob gets up.

"Oh my god they're doing drugs with each other!" Linda was great in this. The whole Freezer Dome was spectacular. "The losers get stickers. STICKERS OF SHAME!"

  10. Up next on Nickelodeon: Uncomfortably Hot 18 Year Old Girls!

This was quite a painful episode. Once again I ask myself why I still watch. Oh right, nostalgia from better times plus it's to kill half an hour between Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Bob's Burgers. The only things I laughed at were the above cutaway and Carter saying it's his duty to take an open-mouth nap in the middle of the room since he's the oldest person there.

It was, however, good to see the Cleveland Show cast again, even if none of them spoke.

  11. Why is Holt on a bouncy ball the best thing ever? Andre Braugher really needs some awards for his acting chops tonight.

Nice to know that there are competent cops working in the background during all the funny antics.

"Hitchcock got trapped out on the balcony."

"Good, looks like we dodged a bullet there."

    • Love 10
  12. Heh, they actually addressed Kang & Kodos missing Halloween. I also loved that couch gag.

New Zealand (The Milhouse of Australia)

Not Burning Man was a delight to see. It was like Hullabalooza, except with much better visuals. The tuba guy was David Silverman, longtime Simpsons director.

Well, didn't expect Marge getting high, but it was really hilarious.

So yeah, I'm just as shocked as you are that Bart's new teacher was only fired for trying to kill Bart at Burning Man. Hey, at least he ran into Sideshow Bob. As much as Bob wasn't interested, I'm REALLY interested if they ever teamed up.

  13. Cold Open: Getting Obama and Mitch McConnell drunk was the best idea for a political sketch in a long time.

Monologue: ANOTHER FUCKING SONG MONOLOGUE. Although he was better at remembering 1989 than Taylor Swift. Also, I have yet to hear that damn Taylor Swift song. Hey, it's those guys and Jennifer Lawrence from the Hunger Games in pointless cameos! And I totally called that Woody Harrelson was most likely stoned tonight. And the show is better for it.

The Dudleys: Well, this is what you get when shows actually listen to Twitter complaints. And I love how all the changes led to Middle America sending actual letters demanding the show to be changed back. And who else expected Sasheer as Crazy Eyes instead of them actually getting Crazy Eyes?

Match'd: Dating game with horny MTV generation guys with a square host? Lame. The girl is the daughter of the host? Now that's a good twist. The reactions on the guys at the reveal were just gold. Cringe comedy at its finest.

Pot Freedom: I loved this one so goddamn much. Of course Pete Davidson is the kid they focus on first. The Funyuns flag was probably my favorite part.

Safe Tackle: This was a silly one. I like how bringing in Kenan's old football player was just to show how important the new rules about concussions were.

Young Tarts & Old Farts: Another "lets trot out our celebrity impressions for a sketch" sketch. At least I knew who half of the people were. Yes, it was the old tarts half. The one with BB King was my favorite. Having Vanessa's Miley Cyrus comment on being the older half of Miley & Lorde was an inspired bit. Not a pretty funny one, but inspired.

WU: I really liked this one. "But dat ass doe." Sums up this week quite well. Leslie Jones is back with a great bit! I expected Santa to provide commentary on the woman sneaking in through the chimney. And here's where they stuck the obligatory True Detective bit, which went most of nowhere.

Gentrification: I can relate to the city changing over the years. "You know what I miss?" "Crack?" I did like the ending where everyone started to reminisce about meth.

Campfire: This was an odd one. I guess the only part I liked was when everyone was splashed with water.

Sheila Shovaj: Hey, it's this character again! "I noticed you because you were so breathing."

"I replaster unpopular glory holes." "I recognize your work!"

Also, Kenan's reactions were as gold as they always are.

  14. Butters with Oculus Rift (well, a pair of goggles & earmuffs in an elaborate prank by Cartman) is a recipe for success. Even if it was all a prank, Butters finally kicking his dad in the nuts was oddly satisfying.

Well, the reveal of everyone on Oculus at some point made me so confused, but I love how it was all a paradox created by Steve from Customer Service. And the reveal that STAN was the one wearing the headset and that everyone was live-action was a genius reveal. I actually couldn't believe they found kids that were dead ringers for the kids' sketches from Free Willyx.

The scene where Steve called himself was both confusing and hilarious. It was hard to tell, but one Steve was voiced by Trey Parker, and the other was Bill Hader.

  15. Blendin's back! It's interesting to notice that he is simultaneously Rick and Morty. Doesn't hurt that they're all voiced by Justin Roiland.

I think my favorite part of the time travel to Young!Soos's birthday was Dipper finally getting perspective on his crush on Wendy.

Yeah, Infinite Pizza is a damn good time wish. I love how Blendin was immediately on board with that, but then again how could you not?

Code for the book page at the end:

JOIN THE TIME PARADOX AVOIDANCE ENFORCEMENT SQUADRON!
    GREAT HOURS!
    SOLID BENEFITS!
    SIGN UP YESTERDAY!

ETA: "I'm going to stammer until you find them!" was probably my favorite line in the episode.

Code seen at the credits: "DON'T DO THE TIME CRIME IF YOU CAN'T DO THE TIME TIME."

  16. Brian getting his mouth injured was something I wish I didn't see. So glad that he came back to life, you guys. Then again, Brian with his new teeth was pretty weird to look at, too. Apparently all you need to be a good realtor is a weird smile.

"My Dinner with Andre The Giant" was probably the only thing that got a laugh out of me tonight.

    • Love 2
  17. Man, that couch gag was...freaky. That's Hedonismbot for ya.

    "Even God hates jazz!"

Loved Homer's "Hot To Read A Book in Bed" book.

Of course Bender and Homer would become fast friends. I'm pretty sure that Bender's Yaw calculations was from Futurama's side of the writing. Gotta love that this episode was both an homage to Gremlins and Back to the Future 2 (with Bender heading to the racetrack to bet on every sports event in the last 1000 years)

Loved all the shoutouts in both series! Pin Pals jerseys, Bart's old catchphrases (complete with El Barto at the end), "Skinner is a Weiner," Lrrr and Ndnd, Nibbler and his eating habits, and the holophoner in saxophone form.

Apparently Springfield is in New York, since we passed by Panucci's and Seymour. But shouldn't Seymour have not been there? Lars (back when he was still a paradox time duplicate of Fry) went back for him.

I really liked that ending, Kang and Kodos showing up on Omicron Persei 8 was the perfect freaking cameo.

Al Jean has confirmed that Bender will be shown in the basement (like the Olmec head) from now on. Hell yes.

    • Love 3
  18. Crossover time! From SNPP:

Bart blows his nose on a sandwich that he puts into a time capsule, which, when combined with Milhouse's rabbit's foot and radioactive slime, causes a nuclear catastrophe when it is opened 1000 years from now, resulting in Bender (yes, from Futurama) going back in time to kill Bart before he can cause the problem in the first place...and never mind that it been established in this series (in "Fraudcast News") that Futurama is fictional

  19. I totally forgot about "Spooky Fish," the second Halloween special. Killer animals, alternate universes, and a good guy Cartman with a goatee. Also, Sharon's Aunt Flo comes to visit for the last time.

Don't forget "Spookyvision," with pictures of Celine Dion on each corner of the screen.

  20. Totally my favorite of the season so far.

Loved that the show took on Freemium games. Paying 40 cents on a "free" game is stupid, pay $59.99 on a game like normal people! I thought the reveal of Jimmy being a pusher was great.

Continuity check: Randy writing songs as Lorde and The gluten-free PBR. Of course Randy drank a "sampler" of eight wines & beers and called it a "tasting." Mark of alcoholism right there, right on top of claiming that the addiction gene "somehow" skipped over him.

That alcohol ad was great. "DRINK DRINK DRINK PUSSY PUSSY PUSSY DRINK DRINK DRINK...Please Drink Responsibly."

It was great to see Satan again. And he actually explained addiction in a clear and understandable way! Hell, he even brought up gluten! Oh yeah, LOVED the reveal of Beelzeboot, and his fight with Satan!Stan.  And of course the Canadians wondering who to root for was great.

"This is a sad day for Canada, and therefore the world."

  21. I agree with everyone, this was a standout episode for Andre Braugher. I also didn't realize until now that his SO is Marc Evan Jackson, who plays Sparks Nevada on the Thrilling Adventure Hour. I find that incredibly awesome.

I liked this last year, but it's getting better and better.  Great acting and writing.  And they seemed to have noticed that Gina was horrible and toned her down.  She's now a little more like a Michael Scott.

I think it's like Parks and Rec. If you recall, the first season Leslie Knope was awful and self-centered, almost just a cartoon character.  In subsequent seasons, they fixed her character, and I believe that made the show a success.

B99 also has two Jerry's in Scully & Hitchcock.

I guess this was the end for Wuntch/Hold feud, for the time being? It was a pretty neat storyline, and gave Holt something new to do. I liked it.

I doubt that this is far from over. I can't get enough.
