What I do know is that idea of the protagonist cheating on his girlfriend with her sister and then having said girlfriend be the love of his life and endgame relationship was a really bad one and it was smart to move away from that early on.

I watched the first 6 episodes of season 1 when they aired (gave up on the show after that and came back mid season 2), and I was certain that they would somehow walk back the backstory of Oliver cheating on LL with Sara. Have it be a misunderstanding and Oliver just let LL believe it to keep her at a distance, until it was time for them to get together and then she would find out it didn't happen and there wouldn't be any more obstacles between them. Instead, the show went in the opposite direction and added Tommy dying, Sara coming back and dating Oliver again, and a secret kid conceived when Oliver was cheating on Laurel. Yikes.

  2. The 50 Best CW Ships

Oliver and Felicity were ranked #1 on this list:

    1. Oliver and Felicity, Arrow

Olicity is one of those weird ships that was probably never in the original plans for the show but somehow became a cornerstone of it. Oliver and Felicity's chemistry was palpable from the get-go, and they've traveled from strangers to friends to husband and wife, despite the seriously rocky road they had to take to get there. They're also one of the rare couples that provide fans with just as much entertainment during their domestic happiness as their angsty breakups, which is not easy. It all worked out in the end though, and thank goodness we got to see their happy ending in the afterlife in the Arrow series finale!

Still, fans are earnestly waiting for the show to be picked up... and Ben is too.

As of right now, Katherine McNamara, Juliana Harkavy, and Katie Cassidy are the only stars packaged into the spin-off, but Lewis is confident his character would return alongside them: "I don’t know necessarily what my involvement in it would be. I know that I would be involved in it in some way, but I don’t really know in what capacity."

If Ben Lewis isn't a regular, I don't have much hope that Joseph Jones and the other FTA actors are involved much either. Throw it all into the garbage.

It's amazingly tone deaf to me that they had a young, diverse cast and decided to go with the 3 straight white women route. It's not like the CW didn't already have 3 DC shows with a female lead and a majority of white regulars (Supergirl, Stargirl, Legends). 🙄

It’s a good thing his audio was muted when he first went into the same room as his wife because he looked so pissy at her when she was trying to give him the wired headphones (he ended up just stealing one of her airpods like she predicted).

I'm sure her needling him the whole time, talking about how he always loses when they play Quiplash, and telling him to "Take these and plug them into your computer LIKE AN ADULT" in front of an audience really helped his mood. They both behaved badly and made me think they're one of those couples that bicker and snipe at each other during group events, not caring that they're making everyone uncomfortable.

I watched it. EBR was adorable, AT was the most professional (helped the host keep everyone focused and talked about the charity), CA was fine (though she made a comment about eating bats that was a bit 👀), and SA had audio issues because he didn’t charge his airpods and honestly acted like a petulant child. He was so snippy with his wife that at one point, the host asked “are you two ok?” It was total cringe.

I thought he was being really sulky, but between the technical issues and apparently not knowing how to play, SA didn't get off to a good start. And it didn't help that everyone except EBR was making fun of him instead of helping him. CA was snippy right back at him, so it's not like she was de-escalating the situation.

EBR was the best thing about the livestream. Loved all her helmets and how she kept trying to make everyone laugh.

I will watch once someone else does and I can be reassured that nothing will ping my secondhand embarrassment meter like the awkward rumor/relationship talk that happened one of the last times Aisha was live with them.

Wayne Brady and some other guy will be part of it, so hopefully that'll cut down on their dumb Jar antics and inside jokes.

I'm really wary about Frank Churchill after the Gwyneth version and the BBC version. I don't remember thinking he was so shady when I was younger. I wonder how Jane would fare with him in the long run. I'd rather Mr Martin the farmer in all honesty!

ETA: Also Mr Weston seemed so nice and he wasn't poor. Surely he could have kept his kid and hired a governess!

I agree with Mr Knightly's assessment that Frank Churchill didn't really deserve all the good things that happened to him. His behavior was pretty selfish and dickish throughout. It's hard to see what Jane saw in him to put up with all that.

Unpopular Jane Austen opinion: The Pride & Prejudice version with Colin Firth does not age well.

I could only make it through that series once because Mrs Bennett was so OTT shrill and obnoxious she made me want to murder. I prefer the 2005 version overall.

    Hi Guys

Super weird question but if anyone can help me you guys can!

I'm rewatching every version of Emma made. BBC version is the best!!!!!

    So the question is:

Why could Emma be independently wealthy and inherit from her dad but the Pride and Prejudice girls were going to be penniless when their father died???

Also Elton in Emma married a girl with $20,000 pounds. How come she had money if the laws were so oppressive to women?

    I really need to know!!!!!!

As I understand it (and someone correct me if I'm wrong), in England there are rules attached to a property you get through inheritance. The Bennets lived on an estate that stipulated it could only be passed down to a male relative. The Woodhouse's estate apparently didn't have that restriction attached, so Emma (and her sister) would've inherited if her dad wanted them to.

Re: Mrs Elton-- her family was wealthy and the 20,000 pounds was her dowry. She was lucky that her dad agreed to give her that much money to live on, but other women might not have been.

And I agree that the BBC Emma was the best, although I thought all versions of Mr. Knightly were pretty dreamy. Have you seen the modernized youtube version (Emma Approved)?

  9. Things in Northern California hasn't really changed in terms of restrictions. Most non-essential store and restaurants (except for those with takeout options) are still closed, everyone has to wear masks when they're out, and social distancing rules are still in place. We might have a nationwide meat shortage because the big meat processing plants have had high rates of infections among the employees.

Golf courses were allowed to re-open, so good for them, I guess. And gas prices are the lowest I've seen in 15 years.

  10. I now regret all the times I joked about Australia having too many oversized, deadly creatures. (Sorry, @Mellowyellow!) Apparently this is what the killer hornets that have just arrived in the US look like:
