What is the point in having judges when they don't judge fairly? It's obvious they are either biased or working overtime to pimp the people ABC want to make happen. Or both.

Hon, where have you been? That's been the purpose of the judges from the very beginning of the series.  They are there only to do the producers' bidding and are not allowed to have opinions to the contrary.

Vinay shares his side of events on his Instagram page. It’s in the Where Are They Now article I posted. Despite some he said/she said stuff and possible reality show shenanigans, he still seems flaky to me. He probably just wanted to be on the show to promote his business and become a fitness influencer.

You mean there are shenanigans involved?  Horrors!  It was pretty easy to see throughout this show.   I watched the series in two days.  I loved it through the first 6 episodes and then it started to seem like just another reality show full of manipulation.  That bit with Nadia and Vinnie wreaked of it.  I ended up liking Aparna and Vyasar the most.  Aparna grew on me and it became obvious later on that she was just playing a role.  My favorite part was the talking heads with the older couples and seeing the parents.  Nadia's parents seemed to be pretty relaxed and didn't seem as much like they were acting.

Tom is gone and so am I. He's the main reason I kept watching DWTS.

Same for me! I doubt I would have watched the new season anyway, but I will now definitely blame it on letting Tom go.

Honestly. It's time to switch out the Judges. I'm sure they could find 3 New Fresh Judges to come in and take over.

The judges have nothing to do with who goes or stays.  They are just mouthpieces for the producers.

.... What I thought was odd was when Rumer and Sailor said they used to go on family vacations together. Usually those close celeb friendships get documented in the tabloids and I don't ever recall Christie and Demi Moore being friends?

Bruce and Demi split up at approximately the same time that Sailor was born, so Demi and Christie didn't have to be friends.  I think they really did vacation together in the sense that they often vacationed on the same island, the island where Bruce is currently selling a home.

One thing I noticed; with the exception of Sophie and Brady, all of the bakers seem a bit more mature (physically) than in seasons past. Anyone else think this? In prior seasons, most of the kids seemed solidly pre-pubescent, but not so much this season. IMHO, of course.

I just checked the ages again and Sophie is 10, so that makes sense.  The next two youngest are Dharma and Brooke, both 11.  The others are 12 and 13.  I haven't paid close attention, have the winners usually been on the older side?

The high point of the night was when shirtless Artem was called up on stage to stand next to shirtless Josh. I know I'm shallow. LOL

    I loved that segment!

I keep rewatching Adam's freestyle, and I see what Jenna was trying to do.  She was clearly trying to do a SYTYCD type routine that would get lauded for its innovation over there.  Where she went wrong is this number didn't remotely showcase Adam in any real way, or not in a good way.  As per usual in all things Jenna, the number showcased her and her movement over Adam and Adam couldn't keep up with either her or the background dancers.  So his movement wasn't nearly as sharp or crisp or strong as it needed to be.  I get where she was going in trying to be different and innovative, but I still think you need to start from finding something that will package your celeb in the best way and that wasn't it.  It wasn't about Adam.  Also I don't know if it was a mistake or not, but the lighting was awful.

So well said.  Adam deserved better.

Who would have thought Tonya would have the best freestyle of the night.  It seems Sasha knows how to choreograph for his partner.

Erin has always had a major problem with malapropism. She does it on DWTS and she does it in sports. However, she seems to have a great relationship with Tom and I would take her 100 times over either Samantha Harris or especially Brookebot Burke.

My main problem with Erin is that she's harsh and brash and her voice hurts my ears.  Bring back Samantha.  At least she made me laugh. :)

......I've always felt the judge's scores were pretty set in stone ahead of the live show, with TPTB telling them how to vote and maybe even what to say. It's just a reality show after all. It quit being a dancing show seasons ago. JMHO and, as always, YMMV.

Yep, yep, that's what I think as well.  I firmly believe that the judges are told what the total score needs to be for a particular contestant, and what kind of praise/criticism there needs to be, and it's up to them to make that score happen.  It doesn't matter who gives what score.  They watch the dress rehearsals and take notes, so that they're prepared.  It's pretty obvious when something unexpected happens, like a fall.  Then they have a look on their faces like, crap, what do we do now?

Did I read somewhere that this Junior’s show will be the kids of celebrities?  Just what I don’t want to see——-the rich, overindulged spawn of C list celebrities.  ABC is grasping at straws to save a very dying franchise.

I'm out.  My interest started waning when they brought in Erin and her loud mouth and she started overpowering Tom.  I really only watch for Tom.  Also when they started taking crossovers from sytycd and doing dances other than ballroom.

I think the winner? There's no extra show next week so they've gotta crown a winner by the end somehow. Last nights votes + next week's scores would be my guess.

But a lot of people used up their votes before the finalists were announced, and may have voted for contestants who were booted last night. I don't recall them saying what the voting was for, but I could have missed it.

I think its naive to think its not some  kinda power play bts that happens on dwts. Im not implying that this may be the case this season but I often time have to sideeye at some of the things that happens on this show and other shows that r similar to it, that requires votes. I do know for a fact the judges already know who the bottom is before results r given but have no idea who is going home and Erin and Tom know minutes before results who will being going home. This info was given off someone on Facebook who use to work for dwts production team.

Of course there's stuff going on behind the scenes, but it doesn't involve changing viewer votes.  That's illegal.  There is viewer manipulation everywhere, including planning ahead what scores the teams will get, judges' comments meant to sway the viewers, what order the contestants dance in, what music is used, what positive or negative comments are included in packages, and things like the team dances where they can assign the scores they like, and dance-offs.   It's all planned in order to achieve a particular outcome, and usually it works.

Ugh.  Dead dad dance, complete with photos.  The more this hag doubles down on being poor victim Tonya, the more I loathe her.  The only thing worse than sad old deputy dog Tonya is manically smiling Tonya.

Stupid show.  Mirai gets screwed over to redeem this pathetic jerk.

Mirai was never meant to be on the show. She's lucky she had the time in the spotlight that she had.  There was no way they'd let two recently competitive skaters compete together in the finals.  Tonya makes a more interesting finale because she looks like a regular person off the street.

I dont understand how Nastia got asked back as mentor. Didnt she struggle a bit her season. I mean it took her minute to get her footing in.

She also was not liked very well by the show's crew which resulted in some less than flattering moments.

I'm actually one that wouldn't mind if DWTS moved to 1x a year.  I think it would prolong the life left in the show and it would make it more of an event season to season.  Obviously the pros wouldn't like it since it cuts into their tv time and overall salaries, but I think it's about time.

I don't want only one season. This is the only show I really watch. An extra summer session would be nice!

I think going to once a year would be the end of the show very quickly. People would move on to other shows, and those would be coming back in the fall.

I would welcome a single season.  I think it would lessen my growing irritation with the show if it wasn't on as much.  Amazing Race did a few years with two seasons, but I found I enjoyed it more when it was only on once a year.  It seemed more special.
