  1. I thought there were some better singers this episode. The woman who sang "Sweet Thing" was very good and very polished, but she probably won't last long. The voters don't seem to support many singers who have a lot of previous experience. I was surprised that Kelly said she'd never heard that song. I also really liked the woman who sang "Rocket Man". She might be unique enough to do OK. Fiddle Boy was pretty good - he'll probably win because Team Blake, country, young, cute, plays an instrument. The coaches' banter continued to be over the top. I have to admit that I did laugh when Ariana said, "But where will I go for Christmas?".
  2. And I was expressing my opinion.
  3. This seems awfully judgy! There isn't a limit to the amount of trauma to go around from such a terrible event. I would think having that happen at one of your shows would indeed be very traumatic. Also, she organized and staged a huge benefit concert for Manchester just two weeks later. https://www.cnn.com/2017/06/04/world/grande-benefit-concert/index.html She visited victims in the hospital as well.
  4. Well, we used to refer to St. Pete, FL as "home of the newly wed and nearly dead", so maybe that's what they were shooting for - the retiree customer. I agree with this so much! I spent many years working in a male dominated industry, and I learned early on the best way to handle this kind of thing is to be straightforward. I would look them in the eye and say matter-of-factly, "I don't like being called sweetie. Please don't do it again." It was almost always effective, and I don't remember anyone ever getting mad at me about it. In fact, I think they usually respected and liked me more because I addressed the issue head on. Lindsey just let it keep bothering her without doing anything to fix it. ETA: I was kidding about it being St. Pete, FL, because retirees... It was obviously supposed to be St. Petersburg. Russia, although the provided fabric seemed dubious for a Russian theme.
  5. Thank you. They have two women dance together so they have to put them in hooker gear and make them skank around like strippers. And then they tell them they should've been more subtle.
  6. I agree. I did, however, enjoy Norm's critique of her. He basically told her she didn't belong in stand-up, then she replied that she'd work on her writing. Norm said, "No, don't work on your writing!!!". His expression there was hilarious to me.
  7. Nigel is so gross. I felt really bad for Neptune; he looked so taken aback. Also, Nigel pontificates about racism and then in practically the same breath calls the female dancer "baby". Evidently he is A-OK with sexism.
  8. Does your definition include bi-racial or multi-racial women? Adam took Amanda Brown, Judith Hill, and Tessanne Chin to the lives. All three were considered favorites at the beginning of their respective seasons with Tessanne winning.
  9. I doubt he'll let her go though. I can't see him -ever- dumping a friend. If Meghan makes it to the live rounds. I think her back story will come back to bite her, especially if she's still on Blake's team. Voters don't usually like contestants who seem like they've already had their chance in the music industry (remember that woman who had sung with Michael Jackson). Then strike two for Meghan will be the perceived favoritism due to her previous relationship with Blake. Given all that, Pharrell was probably smart to cut her loose. I think Paul may have voter appeal if he gets to the lives.
  10. The bridesmaid dress that can be worn again is the unicorn of fashion. They were obviously being set up to fail. I thought all the Marchesa stuff was really ugly. Way to frou frou for my taste. And the wedding gown did nothing for that pretend bride.
  11. Well, they did show footage of Gregory acting as EC on his team. He was tasting the other chefs' food, giving them feedback, etc. Based on what we saw, I think he would've made every effort to rein Aaron in.
  12. 13. Sandhya has got to be one of the least self-aware people I've ever seen: "I have a thick skin!" "I'm always happy and smiling!" *sob*sob*cry*weep*"Everybody is so mean to me! Nobody likes me!" "I'll take your criticism!" *You are all completely wrong. My work is perfect!* I live in an area with a good-sized first and second generation Indian-American population, so I have quite a few friends who were originally from India. None of them act anything like Sandhya. I'm glad she's gone.
  14. I believe Tiffani is the chef/owner at Sweet Cheeks Q. While that doesn't constitute an empire, it isn't "employed as a meat slinger" either.
