Thanks on Ashley, mmm, couldn't quite tell..! I thought Kitty talked a lot of sense in the episode and seemed to think Hannah was no more out of shape than the others.,. Agree bigskygirl - episodes like this in which weight is such a focus (rather than dance ability) will only encourage talk about appearance and weight on social media - and I think you're right, the cuts are v edited. I notice that Hannah's twitter has been quiet. It must be hard for her. The organisation and CMT need to think carefully about what they are showing on the show - I agree with everyone who said 104 was very low (and might create health problems) and I also agree it was not good to say it on a show that is surely watched by many high school girls, possibly younger.

ITA with Princess Leia and others - depressing episode. Agree that other vets seem to be given more time and leeway than Hannah - her cut seemed pretty curtly done. The whole thing was almost enough to make me miss Jay's fitness segments... About who in the 18-23 group did Kitty say 'I love her...she's nasty' was it Ashley N? When Kelli called for the Senior Citizens to come and dance, was that the over 25s? Ouch.

Vivian recently said on twitter that she was a 'mix' of 'Filipino, Irish, Native American, Spanish and Black'....

She's such a good dancer and so pretty - but the competition definitely seems tougher this year than last year....

Love Meagan's voice too. Interesting that so many of these new girls are so strong - Judy said they had more power than previous rookies. I wonder who was scouted, like Sydney once was (I imagine that Sydney's pass to semis no longer exists as CMT want to film rookies in prelims). I wonder if Lacey was spotted at dance competitions, seems she was very successful in them. Erica too maybe... On Vivian, I remember a poster on TWOP saying that girls sometimes get in if the management above K and J like them. We know that Kelli tweeted Vivian and encouraged her to come back. I think that Charlotte in particular may be looking for a girl with a Latin look to appeal to the huge Latin Cowboys fanbase inside and outside the States, sure they're thinking of pushing the business in Latin America. Charlotte was a real supporter of Paula Tabares, who didn't make it in the end - she said at finals that Paula, who was Colombian, had a 'look' that the team didn't have - (glad she made the Mavs as she seemed such a sweet girl). Even though I believe Vivian's heritage is Spanish rather than Mexican or another Latin country, she would appeal to the Latin fanbase - but prob is the Latin female body doesn't always get the Lauren Williams style height that the DCC love...

Yes, agree the shorts also look creased and untidy after the wearer has been dancing for a while. I think skirts - as in Miami Dolphins and NY Jets - look much better, but doubt DCC will ever change...

Agree, Electric Boogaloo, Melissa TC is wonderful but on a time clock - v true being a DCC in med school must be impossible. And yes, on Melissa, it's a safety zone that K and J will see - so better be careful what they say. Maybe she's one of those new moms who get a very large, even painful, nursing chest and she is trying to cover it up. On youtube, there is a Miami Dolphins mtt when Emily Snow has just had a baby. Her hair and make up is perfect but she is definitely in loose fitting clothes. Melissa timed her baby well - imagine if she'd have been trying to mentor TC while heavily pregnant - hard work! I forgot - the twitter of Courtney's groom seems to be down already (might just be my computer though!) Agree too Electric Boogaloo on the rehearsals, it's very hard to see if someone is chasing the choreography etc if you're only looking at that one person....

I wonder if Hannah got caught up in her college finals and got bigger when she was busy working. It's clear from twitter that she took some time off mid course - think that's when she danced on cruise ships - so I guess she was ultra determined to work hard. I wonder if she'd cried in the office and said how sorry she was that K and J would have been more sympathetic. I think you're right, she has done something else to annoy them over the year. Well spotted Lorimar263 on the uniform that must be Hannah's. We are told that everyone turns in uniform before the new draft starts in May - but then, how do vets do their appearances? Maybe their uniform is kept in the office - and that office cupboard is where they took Hannah's from? Interesting that Kelli, who told Chelsea and co that they would be suspended from uniform in series 8 to their faces - did not tell Hannah to her face, the show usually loves to stage and show that kind of conflict. Perhaps if Hannah had cried and said how sorry she was, they might have not pulled her appearances....

Yes you're right, they were, rookies at front. I seem to think that at least once within that there were rankings for scores. Glad they've stopped it, seemed pretty tough. Mind you, this is the organization that has people's weights recorded on the wall (eek!)

Agree on Melissa, she is very expressive. I think i must be devoid of fashion sense as I liked her skirt (!) What I think she also has is independence. Other ladies might have had longer careers etc but many of them are still very connected to the DCC. Melissa is independent and gives the impression to viewers that she will say whatever she thinks to K and J. It seems to me that for the show to work, she needs to have a big conflict with K and J. I think we can guess over who it might be.... Something v dramatic often happens in episode 6 (eg Chelsea cut) - might the boiling over of an argument between K, J and Melissa be it? Along with a cut or two.... You're right, Elizabeth, didn't see those binders! Also, I thought they used to seat them in order of score at finals - but the rookies at least were in alphabetical order.

Agreed, so relieved that this series has cut the close ups of bodies - some of them were extreme! Love it that we are given more of the backgrounds of the girls - jobs & houses etc. Agree on video too - good idea

I also wonder if Hannah might be a slightly shy speaker - and she lacks the eager chattiness or willingness to tell all of some of the girls who get featured such as Morgan, Chelsea, Shannon Pittsburgh.... She appeared a lot in Season 8 but we barely heard her speak - I think only twice, once in ep 2 when she briefly said that she and the others were 'getting primped and ready for finals' and then again in ep 7 or so when they showed a very awkward chat between her and Abby C when they were stretching on the field. I wonder if she's shy of cameras as a speaker and freezes in front of them, which is very understandable, but perhaps made her seem a little stiff in the office. I remember that Mackenzie (who I really thought was wonderful, miss her a lot) was a little nervous in the office and I thought had to work to find her words when they called her in about her kicks in season 6. I'm sure I would have been the same.....

Yes, it must be hard. And Hannah was really so super tiny last year. I am always a bit baffled by K and J suggesting a girl can lose weight off her stomach or behind or thighs. That's not how it works, is it? I thought it comes off chest, sternum first then other parts last of all the stomach and behind. Hannah is already slim on top, to get to her stomach, she might lose her upper body. I'm also remembering that film of Kelsey from Season 7 I think in which she finishes a day at work at the law firm, gets into her car and has 3 or 4 pretzels on the way to TC as her 'dinner'.....hard for the girls to keep going like that....

Also I saw on twitter that Vivian said her solo was 'a dance about what was going on in my personal life' Caila - again, lots about how she was a junior dcc but no mention of being a TLDancer. As someone pointed out above, Mallory etc didn't list it on profiles. if it wasn't for Mrs EVH listing them, I'd have no idea that so many finalists had been on other Texas teams.

Thank you for points on M1977G on Taylor - and you're right, the outfits Taylor's twitter shows the Traxx models wearing might not please K and J - although they do contain slightly more material than the DCC uniform..... I am very pleased CMT cut the 'candidates stick on and discuss their numbers' section from Ep 1, it seemed such a waste of time (i know it is in the extras, hope never to come back). And not surprised The Soup picked on the 'scoring system' - in some series, Kelli does explain how she devised 'yes, no, maybe' at astonishing length... What I never realised until I found you all on TWOP is how many girls auditioning are members of the Mavs, TSDs, TLDs etc. Such info was so often missed off when a girl's history was given - as in the case of Courtney in Season 8 when it was all about Broadway and Bring it On, no mention of TLDs. K and J seem to mention non Texas teams - NY Jets Flightcrew, Laker Girls only. Do they not like the Texas teams? Please do correct me if I am wrong but ep 2 of series 9 seemed to be the first mention of a candidate being in the Mavs - when K and J declared that one girl was too punchy in her dance and that might be her Mavs basketball training...

Yes it was sad when Kelli Q was crying. I think the posters above were right when they said it must be her look (too blonde hair) - as she has the dance technique and the figure and she really wants to be a DCC. But if it is only her look, that kinda throws into question all the fuss K and J make over the makeover episodes - which are presented to us viewers as magical transformations. K implies that the DCC makeover is amazing - but if it can't sort out hair colour (Kelli) or flat hair and make up (Shannon from Pittsburgh)...well, perhaps it's not all that...and if it were so great, then there never would have been that bizarre discussion about Erica's hair. Agree with everybody - Melissa made very sensible points in the Erica hair debate, thank goodness for her!

@TNSracing. Seems to have grown friendly with Mary in particular at prep classes - tweeted that she was so glad to meet her, someone with similar values etc.,.

I've also been watching season 8 again - and noticed Breelan there.... Also Ashley P's v nice blue and green Season 9 prelims and semis audition outfit is also worn by Abby Camille to prelims and semis in season 8 - clearly a lucky outfit. And poor Kelli Quinn. On the opener to season eight, episode 1, K is looking through a pile of photos and resumes - and the one we see her stop at is Kelli Q, just as she does in the Season 9 opener. CMT clearly thought Kelli Q was worth featuring...even if K and J didn't take her forward. Agree with the poster above, Kelli Q is a beautiful dancer....glad she got on another team .

Hello there - am a long time lurker on this site. I'm so happy the show is back - thanks CMT! And thank you for all your posts, ladies (and gentlemen?), I have learned a lot. Yes, I was surprised about Taylor - attractive, a real DCC look, the show featured her great dancing and she took prep classes with Kitty, along with Mary and others. I think she auditioned last year. I wonder why she wasn't picked for TC. I notice from Twitter that her job is a model on racetracks. Do K and J prefer office jobs/ dance jobs etc? I can't think of many models on the team and I remember them telling Danielle that she shouldn't do waitressing etc as there was too much contact with the public...Taylor says on twitter she's coming back next year - hope she makes it to TC at least...
