  1. I recently watched this and I agree with funky-rat. I think this was a suicide. The documentary was good, but I felt like I walked away not knowing who Diane was. Her family and friends that talked about her were very surface. IMO they didn't give any real insight into who she was and I think that was on purpose. There is a lot more to this situation and what led up to it than meets the eye and the family is just not ready to reveal it all, for many reasons, one of which I'm sure is the impending lawsuits. I hope that the young son that survived is somehow able to rise above all of the anger and denial of his father and have a happy, healthy life. That's all you can ask for at this point.

I think that showed that Diane was so good at compartmentalizing and minimizing that no one had a full picture of who she was.

  2. This was a documentary about several patients at Renfrew's Florida residential eating disorder treatment center. I found it to be incredibly frustrating, particularly the inept staff (there is no way patients should have been able to hoard and share drugs like that at a treatment facility, and the clinicians seemed petty and quick to label patients) and the issues with insurance. I was sad for patients who needed and wanted more care but were kicked out, and annoyed by patients who were ambivalent about recovery yet had tons of past admissions because they had more forgiving insurance. Sadly, not much has changed in terms of insurance covering residential/inpatient treatment for mental illness...

  3. From Wikipedia:

I wouldn't be flaunting anything of value while traveling in Cambodia.

I doubt that Meghan was in a bad part of the country given the pics of the hotel she apparently posted (I didn't look, but someone posted about it here I think?). Anyway, I'm not going to infer anything about their marriage from the ring. Jim and Meghan are an odd couple but whatever, as long as it works for them. He was a dick to her on the show. Still surprised she didn't wear a fake but maybe she didn't want to buy one and didn't feel comfortable traveling with it as you suggest.

  4. Interesting, Jim has signed on to do this show TWICE and he didn't know what the show would be like? I can understand the part about it taking forever to film, but c'mon, you only need to see one episode (pick any season) to get the gist of the show.

Didn't Andy say at some point (maybe in his book) that Jim had wanted to go on WWHL or something? Jim has to have watched the RH shows.

ETA, this article from 2013: http://m.mlb.com/cutfour/2013/10/12/62890640/andy-cohen-meets-with-tony-la-russa-and-jim-edmonds

While we're not sure if La Russa has ever watched an episode of the Real Housewives series, there is little doubt about Edmonds' knowledge about the show. He actually appeared on an episode with the Orange County cast when he was a dinner guest of one of the stars.

"I was watching a rough cut of it at home and I almost fainted," Cohen said. "I'm like, 'Cardinals legend Jim Edmonds is on my show.' I was so psyched."

  5. Jim Edmonds silent no longer-  http://www.allabouttrh.com/jim-edmonds-defends-his-behavior-and-his-marriage-on-real-housewives-of-orange-county/  He got tired of his wife being used and abused.

My wife was hoping that this would lead to her being a spokesperson and turn it in to something positive. She wants to make a career for herself.”

This girl is all about taking short cuts and not doing the hard work or what? Go to school. Get a job. Intern. Network. Going on some stupid reality show for a "career"?

  6. I know Meghan is quite taken with these unfortunate children but a rule of thumb is you don't identify and publish photos of victims of sex crime.  I sure it is just immaturity on her part.  It is nice to see her direct her energies to helping but use some common sense.

So she's posting pictures of them with her smiling? Yeah, just as I thought. These kids are just human props to her.

  7. Let me guess, she'll post a bunch of pictures of herself with poor brown kids used as props with trite platitudes as captions. If she were sincere, she'd work with the charity to determine their needs and give them the money it is going to cost to get her ass over there. I hate it when privileged people think they can just show up, take a few pictures and leave. unless Meghan is a social worker, she won't be able to help these kids. She's like those clueless college kids who sell t-shirts to "raise awareness" or people who show up in disaster zones without a clue and just make things harder for rescuers.

  8. Here's my take. Fightcolorectalcancer.org does not have an official spokesperson nor was Meghan named as one. There are no press releases naming her a spokesperson, nor is she on the site aside from being tucked away in the fundraising section. Meghan started her trucker hat charity, promised to give money, and basically strong armed a CHARITY into giving her a title with her blog. She's a nasty piece of work.

  9. My father and maternal grandfather both passed away from colon cancer and one of my mom's sisters had colon cancer, but thankfully has been in remission for years without any recurrence (treated by doctor's at the City of Hope).  The idea that Meghan has anything to do as a spokesperson for a colorectal cancer charity makes me physically ill.

I'm so sorry. And that is something that Fight Colorectal Cancer should be worried about in terms of her being a "spokesperson." They run the risk of alienating people, like you, whose lives have been affected by colon cancer. She might actually make people re-think their decision to donate to Fight Colorectal Cancer.

  10. I'm sure the response you receive will be some carefully crafted doublespeak without a clear "yes" or "no" answer. Fight Colorectal Cancer wants the money from Meghan's charity so I doubt they'll say anything that will damage the relationship. But at the same time, they're aware of her behavior and don't want to outright say "yes" in case things get worse.

  11. Interesting - Meghan is saying in her blog she has been appointed as the official spokesperson for Fight Colorectal Cancer.org yet she is not mentioned on their site as official or celebrity. Some celebrities are - Sheryl Crow, Luke Perry, Kevin Klein are some.

I can't stand her and I cannot imagine an org appointing her at all due to her unethical means of tormenting cancer patients (real or not, doesn't matter).

    http://fightcolorectalcancer.org/do-something/fund-the-fight/fundraising-partnerships/

She's some kind of fundraising partner according to the website. A person who fakes cancer to expose and humiliate a cancer patient is representing a cancer-fighting charity? Wow.

  12. Is her hair still that gawd awful pink color? If so why? It looks absolutely terrible.

Because she's the patron saint of cancer sufferers everywhere. Don't minimize her pain!

Whenever Meghan talks about cancer/justice, I imagine her reciting an amended version of the Sailor Moon quote:

I am [Meghan King Edmonds], champion of justice! On behalf of the [cancer], I will right wrongs and triumph over evil, and that means you! In the name of the [cancer], I will punish you!"

  13. Meghan investigating Brooks gave me an idea regarding something I've suspected about her. It was easy. I Googled "buy instagram followers" Not only did several companies offer packages depending on how many followers you want to buy but for an additional fee you can buy "likes" too! An article on how sleazy it is to do this said evidence that someone had purchased followers would be a disproportionate amount of likes and comments. Meghan will typically have 10 percent comments to the amount of likes she has. Case closed!

Edit to add EBkitty pointed out the discrepancy in comments to followers would be an indication of bought followers.

Yeah, we speculated about this a few pages back. Wouldn't put it past her or bravo

  14.

My issue with Vicki and Tamra is their roles on the show have become a cottage industry for them.  The high six figure salaries fuel their lifestyles and their adult children to a certain degree.  They can't make a single outside endeavor stick so this is it.  When I saw Tamra moving her son down and her mother in it became clear Tamra will say or do anything to keep this job-including giving up on her first born daughter.

RHOC seems to depend on kids to fuel storylines more than any other franchise (idk about Atlanta, I've not watched it since the first season). I'm wondering if that is why Meghan had Hailey participate. Meghan doesn't have much to offer other other than that because she has no noteworthy accomplishments (same with the other RHOC women, for the most part).

I'm not a parent, but I wouldn't throw money (esp. cash money) at a kid like Hailey.

  15. The difference in my view and yours is that you blame Meghan for interfering and I believe Meghan was assigned the role of shit-stirrer on the topic of Brooks' cancer by production after they forced Vicki to agree to it and she talked Brooks into going along with it. The real shit-stirrer in this scenario is Bravo and Meghan is just doing her "job."

In that case, Meghan is stupider than I thought.

  16. I (almost) felt a little sympathy for Meghan, she always seems confused, even when she is being a bitch which is 90 percent of the time. She doesn't appear to have any sense of "self" She is defined by being Jim Edmonds wife, being a "stepmom" and for whatever reason, LeAnn's cancer. Who is Megan without them? All she seems to know about herself is she's 30! Also, on the damn stepmom topic again, you are not crowned "stepmom" upon saying your vows. My "stepson" and I still refer to each other as step friends, he has a mom and doesn't need another one (he's 25 now) but I married his dad when he was 12. Ugh, the "I can't correct 17 years of bad parenting" comment! For one thing, a 17 year old HAS already been raised, and Jim should have left her at the table for saying that. Okay, rant over. Grr...

I agree, I do think she gets her sense of self from those she surrounds herself with (her bro and her husband especially). The problem is, what meaning does being "Jim Edmonds' wife" have when no one knows or cares about who Jim Edmonds is? That might work in St. Louis, but I can't imagine that the rest of the country cares all that much.
