  1. Only got to see the very end of the Double Jeopardy round and FJ due to the Hockey game. That sucks for Katie- she can't even watch her own episode. I know she can request a free DVD from the show, but I'll be very upset if the show is preempted next Tuesday after I invited all my friends to a bar to watch the show. I too am shocked no one knew FJ.
  2. I'm a huge 49er fan, and I got very excited with the Joe Montana category. I knew the Father Damien question. I went to Catholic school in Hawaii, and we learned all about Father Damien. I'm glad Katie won- Poway is about 5 minutes from where I live, and I also like to root for home team.
  3. I think the Dayton clue was supposed to be Wright track, as in Wright brothers. It probably would have helped the contestants more if they would have show the clue written out instead of giving them a map. I got that because at my audition, in the mock game I got asked a question about what city the Wright Brothers were from, and I was the only one in the mock game who knew it. I was jumping up and down with the Winston-Salem DD because I used to live there. Instaget for me on FJ- I love countries and capitals.
  4. Yeah, it will be nice to talk to someone about this other than my mom.
  5. I got way, way too excited when I saw that Africa category. It's one of those completely random categories that I knew I would do really well on, and I was right- I knew all of them. This is another episode where there were some strange TS's. I can't believe no one knew Florence was in Tuscany. Or that Addis Ababa is the capital of Ethiopia. I have not been impressed by Molly at all. She has gone up against some really weak opponents- today's show was a perfect example. The last couple of shows have had a ton of TSs and most have not been that hard. It's June 24th. My name is Jennifer. I soooo want to say something in response to this, but it will have to wait until after my show airs.
  6. I got my picture with Alex today. :-) I've been waiting all damn day for that email, and I finally got it at 5 PDT.
  7. I'm glad Molly went for a true daily double in the Hamlet category. I would have done the same thing. I love Hamlet, and I've seen Jeopardy enough times to know that they aren't going to get too obscure with clues in a category like that. I'm surprised that "Goodnight sweet prince" was a TS.
  8. Ugh, I went to watch Jeopardy and they are showing hockey instead. It looks like it won't air for another 2 hours or so (the game just went into OT). Oh well!
  9. If I had hit a Daily Double in a Rogers and Hammerstein category, I would have made it a true daily double no matter what the score was. I don't care if I were in the lead and had twice as much as the second place player. I feel that confident about that category. I'm such a huge musical theater dork, and I can't recall seeing a musical theater related question on Jeopardy that I couldn't answer. I would have been really tempted to sing if I rang in for the "I Enjoy Being a Girl" clue.
  10. June 24th. It feels like I've been waiting forever.
  11. I knew this was coming sooner or later by virtue of the fact that she wasn't around for the week I was at a taping. I honestly thought she would lose sometime last week. Still her streak was mighty impressive.
  12. Yes, they are done filming for the season. When my show filmed, the contestant coordinators said there was only a week or two left for filming the season. That was in March.
  13. helpmerhonda, Good Luck! I know it sucks that they tell you "We may call you in the next 18 months," but I think they are doing a ton of auditions right now, and it's really hard to gauge at this moment how many of those people they would be willing to put on the show. When I went for the audition, they gave everyone Jeopardy pens, but asked us not to click them while people were playing a mock version of the game. There was one guy seated in the first row who would not stop clicking the pen, and when he went to play the mock version of the game, he made little cute comments after every answer and took forever to pick a new category. There is no way that guy will get on the show. They probably have a file of people they are willing to cast and go from there. But I do think things like demographics and types play a part in casting decisions. Like I said, half of the people at the audition were lawyers, but when I went to the taping there was only one other lawyer of 12 potential contestants for that "week." After the audition, I did ask one question. I was already starting to freak out about the bar exam, and I specifically asked that I not be called before August. Maggie, one of the contestant coordinators, told me not to worry because they don't start calling people who audition in the spring until August.
  14. I took the test in January of 2013. I had taken the test a couple of times before, but never got an audition until 2013. I had an in-person interview in Los Angeles May. Even though I knew almost every answer on the written test, I was so sure after the in-person audition that my odds of getting on the show were slim. I know they like a balance of demographics, careers, personalities, etc. on the show, and half of the people at the LA audition were lawyers. I wasn't a lawyer at the time of the audition, but the audition was nine days before I graduated from law school. So I was shocked when I got The Call in February. The episode has taped, and I won't say anything about the show itself until after it airs. Most of the other contestants said they went to an audition around the same time I did, but one person I talked to said they went to an audition in December of 2012, so they really can call people anytime in that 18-month time frame.
