So are we guessing that Sweet James has a second family in Puerto Rico?

I think this is all actually a play by Heather to get some dramatic roles as opposed to those bad sitcoms she used to do.

Or maybe a villain in Hallmark/Lifetime movies?

All I know is Sweet James must spend a trainload of money on radio advertising in So. Cal.  I hear the commercial for his PI mill multiple times a day.

So out of that huge house the party took place in the foyer?  Talk about cold mausoleum look.  And Our Lady of Perpetual Surprise resorts to body shaming of course.  Shannon's lumbering in those ridiculously high heels did nothing for her along with the ridiculously long braid on the new girl.  Could Dr. Jen possibly be a beard?  I don't blame Gina kissing up to Heather.  Heather is an institution just like her home.

    Same thought occurred to me.

I found it really hard to look at her because one of her eyebrows was stuck in an exaggerated raised position, and it was distracting as hell. I find the plastic surgeon's awful bolt-on boob job distracting as well -  she seems hellbent on showing it off when she should be in scrubs. It's not a good advertisement for her practice.

What a dumb obviously Producer-driven tempest in a tea-pot this episode was. None of it made any sense, and it was all clearly manufactured.

I normally like Gina & Emily, but they both should have kept their mouths shut and just enjoyed the party. Shannon continues to look pitiful, and is now the target of everyone's ire. Not sure why Noelle is so eager to befriend her.

All of these ladies would benefit by halting the fillers, and wearing longer less tight clothing. I will say that I loved Heather's black dress for the event - much as I dislike her, she knows how to dress elegantly.

I too am puzzled as to why Emily and the Plastic Surgeon Doctor who's name I keep forgetting are with their current husbands - talk about mismatches! I dislike Shane intensely, and shirtless househusband is an even bigger tool-bag than he appeared to be last episode. Ugh.

So far I can't see what Dr. Jen sees in that guy.  Maybe he has a night game that's awesome; otherwise it's hard to tell what the heck the guy's got going for him.

All of these housewife shows are just blending into each other with the manufactured drama and fighting. Despite the new casting, the show is still trash. And as much as I don’t like to say it, I really can’t look at Nicole when she is on the screen because of the massive amount of plastic surgery she’s had on her face.

Same here - made me kinda squeamish to look at her too.  Her bad make-up job dosn't help.

I don’t believe anything Erika says anymore so I’m down a rabbit hole on the Internet right now… I started by trying to find a funny gif of a car flipping or rolling down a cliff but ended up elsewhere, damn Internet!

Can someone who knows her son’s name etc look up his accident report, pretty please? There would have to be some record. A car can’t flip over 5-6 times without being written off/police called. Although he’s a police officer… could it have been ‘covered up’?

I’m even googling to see how fast a car has to travel to flip over that many times! I’m finding things like this ‘Fundamentals of Rollover Crash Reconstruction’! (No idea of the source… just www surfing!)

    https://www.jhscientific.com/downloads/Rollovers.pdf

    edit:

found footage of a car flipping 5 times (as an example) not pretty and causes a lot of damage.

We should ask Tiger Woods about how many times you can roll and still come out without any life threatening injuries.  Although he probably doesn't remember how many times he flipped due to his altered state of consciousness in that one.

I feel like this whole moving the show inside because it will rain was a massive lie.  I mean, I lived in Los Angeles, and sure it rained.  And I was even in a flash flood once on La Cienega.  But for four days in a row?  That seems unlikely.  And no one seemed rain dressed.  I call bullshit.

Well, if you don't live in SoCal, then you wouldn't know we don't own rain gear here.  And it did rain four days straight here in 2020.

This episode wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t good.

The less Leah the better. Eboni is more bearable somehow when Leah is not around.

Ramona needs to get a grip. She can’t be this unaware right. Like some of the shit she says and asks.

Luanne calling out Ramona was good.

I don’t really care about Eboni’s family stuff still. Did her mom get around quite a bit or something?

Sonja is a delusional drunk. She really does need some kind of help. Her yelling was embarrassing. Both her and Ramona need help but different kinds of help. I just don’t find Sonja amusing like a lot of ppl do. She annoys the shit out of me.

Seems so odd to me that a mother with only one child is unable to give her so much as a clue to her paternity -- not a good look for mom.

Sonja annoys the shit out of me too, and I don't understand the "she has a good heart" rationalization at all.

Haha - I always get a kick out of this clip.  But the subtitles are a little bit wrong. Captioning says "cheapish" when she's clearly saying "cheap bitch", and "own" when she's saying "owe".  I've played this several times and can't make out what she's saying to Dorit when she calls PK your "core notion" husband.

Does anyone know what she's really saying to Dorit?  I've pushed it through my mind several times to come up with something that makes sense and sounds similar, but just can't make it out.  Maybe she's using British slang or some phrase that I haven't heard before?

From what I gleaned from the infamous and oh-so-lengthy LA Times article mentioned on the show, the fur hit the fan in 2019 when one of the loan companies from which his firm had borrowed gained access to some of the firm's books, and grew concerned at what they found. After nine months of demanding repayment and being ignored, they filed a suit against him. It turns out that for several years he had been taking loans from different loan institutions, using the same collateral (primarily the anticipated proceeds from future settlements) for all of them.  So when his firm won a settlement, the firm not only owed a portion to their clients, but to all these loan institutions.  Each loan company believed that they would be the beneficiary of the settlement, but because there were multiple lenders, there wasn't enough to go around.  And some of the loans were at an interest as high as 20%.  So Loan Company A was expecting to be repaid when a settlement was made, but so were Loan Companies B, C and D.  Plus the clients.  By the time he settled with the loan company that sued him in 2019, and presumably word was out about his nefarious business practices, there was a line out the door of people and businesses suing for the money he owed them.   And standing in that line was his first wife (Erika is #3), who is suing him for $10,000 a month in alimony, which had been awarded after their split in 1983.  She says the payments abruptly stopped.

Wow - thank you so much for this, nosedive!  Fan contributions like yours keep me coming here even though the shows are pretty much all sinking in quality.

This season it's Erika's hard luck that is Bravo's bacon at a time when I think everyone was expecting BH to be a snooze.

I think to the extent he thought at all he assumed he would be dead before it collapsed. The 2008 financial crisis brought Madoff down and I think Tom - however spry he remained - was still 81 years old and I imagine he wasn't getting the same kind of cases he was getting previously so there wasn't new money from settlements coming in to that could be used to pay off his creditors and the clients.

As I recall he was borrowing huge amounts of money from firms that specialize in funding litigation. And they were among the creditors who forced his collapse. Again - as I recall - he was pledging the same collateral to multiple lenders which is a criminal offense. I believe that it is a Federal offense and I think the judge in Chicago referred a lot of stuff to the US Attorney's division in Chicago.

I don't think the collapse of the scheme had to do with not being able to get more cases.  I think it all turned on his ability to keep juggling things.

In Madoff's case, the 2008 financial crisis couldn't be controlled.  In Tom's case, he couldn't foresee the pandemic -- it closed the courts and halted day to day business that he had been able to capitalize on in the past.  I'm thinking it caused an unavoidable lag time that his juggling ability wasn't able to cover or bridge quickly enough to keep his head above water.  My half-baked theory, anyway.

The California bar also has a lot to answer for. You can't tell me there weren't complaints. When people don't paid money due, they start filing complaints with the board.

I was talking to my boss back when the LA Times story broke and it turns out he has been introduced to Tom Girardi before and that Girardi has a thing about always being well connected, which he is at the State Bar, and makes a point to be tight with people in high places (such as the former Chief of LAPD who we briefly saw in one episode).  He said that long prior to this current shit show, Tom has had complaints against him that were allowed to be resolved in such a way as to result in no discipline for Tom Girardi.

Even Sutton is going soft on Erika. Why didn't Sutton come back at Erika when she said that she was kept away from the books for her LLC?  At the meeting Sutton said if her name is on the LLC she is responsible. Now it is we all love and support you.  Come on ladies ask the question and stop pussyfooting around with this.

Erika's story is definitely starting to fall apart.  Erika knew he was cheating on her but she was okay with making it look to the world as if everything was hunky dory - even after she became a HW and started making her own money.   All because she wanted a vanity career for Erika Jayne?

Yet her story is she was told to sign things allowing him to put her name on things and preventing her from seeing any books, but she's not wondering why and thinking something is going on that might not be kosher?  Tom had to have told her something about what it was for, which doesn't jive with her claim she was told nothing.

She's better off not saying anything than the things she's been saying.  If she was smart she'd say "I can't say anything about anything, sorry ladies.  So please don't ask me - I can't talk about it."  And then zip it about the Tom stuff.  The media will do all the reporting the show will need for drama and she will still be able to talk on the show about how sad and tired she is and how hard her life is for her while it's all happening.

Sutton called it when she said that given time, the forensic accountants will follow the money and tell the true story.

Erika is the epitome of game face. She must be making big bucks to sit there.

I was thinking the same thing.  It has to be a very hard tightrope to walk and she's not doing it all that well.  But what choice does she have?  Let's face it - showing up for the cameras is the only thing coming between Erika paying her rent and Erika on the street.

  13. I thought everyone was dressed nicely for the Christmas dinner - except WTF is that atrocity Garcelle is wearing?  I can't believe she did a mirror check and said to herself "yeah that's the look I'm going for".  She's a big woman anyway and that outfit makes her look 3 times bigger.  Further emphasized by the stretched tight hairstyle.

I just wanted to add to the Dorit being almost as tone deaf as Ramona is that when Dorit made the obviously racist statement that her children loved their "brown" nannies and housekeepers and Garcelle challenged her on what people of color came to their house other than household help, Dorit floundered and then said that Garcelle had visited as if that proved that the children experienced a culturally and racially diverse home.😂

I will give Sutton a pass on the "victimless crime" because it was clear that she meant to distinguish between what Tom had done which was to steal from individuals and what is generally meant by "white collar victimless crime" which is to trade on insider information. Ponzi schemes are generally not considered to be white collar crimes although they are financial crimes because there was stealing from actual gullible victims.

I don't buy into the conspiracy theory that Rinna is laundering money for Erika but I do think that her defense of Erika is based on more than her "claim" of having developed over the past year so she no longer feels it is right to act as she did in the past without mercy to her coworkers (or any one else presumably). Rinna and Erika share the same business management firm. At this point in time given what is actually known about Erika and Tom, her continued defense on WWHL makes no sense in terms of her still backing Erika unequivocally. You could take a more neutral position.

Here is a clip of Rinna last night continuing to defend her defense of Erika and not requiring her to "own it".

PK is hardly a beacon of moral integrity but in his amoral way he completely grasped the situation - you cannot support her if what is alleged is true. What is implicit in that statement is that after The LA Times article you must move back from the whole situation and start saying that you don't have all of the facts but that the alleged facts are reprehensible and that Erika's contradictory statements are suspicious.

The LA Times article is worth reading just to put things into context in terms of what was known. As Garcelle said, the LA Times is NOT a tabloid of any kind - it is probably one of the respected metropolitan newspapers with many Pulitzers and other awards and it practices serious highly researched accurate reporting.

Insightful observations - well said.  Thanks.

Erika is naturally pretty.  Lately, what’s with the dark eyebrows, heavy makeup and big lips.?  Not a good look as she thinks.  Rinna too.  The makeup, lips, hair and screaming and screeching has to go.  She’s not amusing and never was.  She was actually eating the dumplings.  First time I saw her actually eating.  They looked like perogies you buy in the store frozen and fry up in butter.  These tho were home made.

I remember plenty of times Erika chowed down with gusto on camera -- most recently the Lake Tahoe trip.  If you look at her upper thighs, you know that girl puts away a little food.
