  1. Are lawyers typically present at photo shoots?

Carter might be there to protect Ridge and Caroline's interests by keeping his eye on the Rick and Maya's Rat Circus.

Lol@Katie. "I'm here because I'm worried about Brooke. But let's talk about ME for several minutes first." Also, I'm going to rub my husband in her face under the guise of caring. Priceless.

Katie has been getting her jabs in since Brooke came back from Italy.

    One woman's family ...

Nicole is getting mighty irritating. She's making me feel bad for Maya, y'all. Talk me down!

I'm not unsympathetic, but being blackmailed by your own sister ... It couldn't happen to a nicer person. Since Nicole is cut from the same cloth, a swinging sock full of batteries wouldn't do her much harm.

Not to worry, Ninja. I just restocked the bar cart and put together some snacks ... We'll nosh a little and chat about Maya's SECRET. Was she a porn actress/singer/prostitute, a driver for a bank robbery, had an excessive number of parking tickets, drug mule, a mayor's former fuck buddy ... so many possibilities.

  2. I was just reading an article titled, How The Luxury Fashion Industry Became All Business.

And this reminded me what's going on at FC:

    http://www.npr.org/2015/03/14/392788955/how-the-luxury-fashion-industry-became-all-business

I've taken Forrester Creations depicting a lux couture fashion house with a 50 lb bag of salt.

In reality, FC is a warehouse-size dress vendor with a couple of showrooms and some department store customers. They don't follow any standard fashion calendar, having the periodic marketing event at the drop of a hat. They have a formal dress line, might still have a lingerie and Men's line (men's hasn't been mentioned since the Boinkberry incident) and ready-to-wear (Hope For the Future) line. The majority of quasi-couture/ready-to-wear designers for women's wear produce six to eight seasonal lines a year. FC can barely get two down the catwalk without threats of bodily harm.

When Nick Morone and $Bill called Ridge "The Dressmaker," it was an accurate description. Forrester Creations has operated as a Mom and Pop storefront, not an organized corporate entity  -- upper management has always been in a constant state of flux, with the family members openly warring among each other in public and in the press. The management structure has been a bone of contention for most of Bn'Bs Soap history.

FC is run like a neighborhood game of Kick the Can -- disparate and occasionally antagonistic participants, crude, rudimentary rules, at some point someone else is "It" and game starts again -- To the arrogant, delusional and inept go the accolades and the spoils.

  3. Snaporaz quote

You were pretty darned close! But Deacon can't tell Quinn about Brooke being at the meeting, right? Isn't that the "Anonymous" part of AA? So he'll have to keep it a secret from Quinn, but she will find out somehow and go ballistic and the rest as you stated.

Anonymity is important for many AA members, but a participant is not imprisoned to one meeting location. Deacon could easily go elsewhere and not put his relationship with Quinn in jeopardy.

You could see Brooke's greedy little wheels turning while Deacon was speaking to the group about Quinn and his decision to maintain his sobriety. She already has an anvil ready to launch at DeaQuinn, though she would never admit it. The second anvil at the AA meeting was Deacon volunteering to be Brooke's quasi-AA sponsor and she would be his; a disturbing and false interpretation of the AA process -- If anyone should know how bad an suggestion that is it would be Deacon (Brooke is operating as a naïve in AA fundamentals).

    I hate this show.

  4. RuntheTable quote

I think it would be pretty awesome if Brooke had a Scrooge like experience, and was visited by three ghosts while she is unconscious:

Oh H-E-double hockey sticks no! It couldn't be that classic of story-telling or so entertaining.

Instead Brooke wakes up from her face-plant with a liquor store delivery and bloody nose. "Oh, dear," our gormless heroine discerns from her rough night, "why would I order a case of vodka when I needed two?" -- Not really, Brooke doesn't remember ordering the vodka.

Somewhat chagrined, not remembering when she decided to search for the bottom of her liquid despair from the living room carpet, she makes a decision for herself, locates an AA meeting, and away she goes to a Westside meeting.

Introducing herself, she tells her tale of woe -- "I thought I was loved." -- And who should walk in, in search of a better sobriety for his future ... Deacon!

What do we call this chance meeting of the like-minded and recovering alcoholics? Kismet ... the Wheel of Fortune spins double-zeroes ... the dice roll snake eyes ... Karma ... DESTINY????

Six days from today: Brooke implodes DeaQuinn.

    I hate this show.

  5. I don't think Nicole is Maya's daughter because I'm not sure Rick would give a damn, other than a couple of days of typical Rick pouting. I think the big reveal has to be a lot bigger and better than that, like she (a) killed somebody--maybe a boyfriend or even their parents, and that's when she left home, or (b) she was a prostitute, or © she stole a lot of money from their family or some rich guy, or (d) she set out to snare Rick in the first place. I'd be happy with any of THAT dirt. I hope they don't drag it out, though, because this show has been a slog lately. I just don't give a crap anymore. This must've been the period of time in filming when LG was in the hospital after her accident.

ETA: I bet it cannot be a coincidence that Nicole is a computer science student--maybe she hacked into Maya's home computer, or found out something by digging into prison systems. It just seems like that's the ticket--she found out something about Maya, and Maya isn't sure she knows it yet.

Maya: There's nothing in the past I want to revisit (referring to Nicole).

Whatever Maya is trying to avoid from her past, it's nothing that directly dealing with Nicole's living situation wouldn't have taken care of.

  6. Oh, so Deacon finally admitted that he's an alcoholic. Hmm.

That scene was handled well; Deacon admitted to Quinn he was an alcoholic, in denial about his present drinking, what his responsibility was to himself and to her.

    smartyshorts quote

Uh oh. Brooke fell down went boom.

And bonked her saturated melon on the coffee table.

    grisgris quote Today. 4:33 pm

I got this. One of two things is gonna happen:

    1. Deacon, on his way to his AA meeting, can't help himself and stops by to check on Brooke. He finds her unconscious and takes her to the ER. She's OK, but they are gone for HOURS. When Deacon gets home, a furious Quinn confronts him. When Deacon spills, she goes ballistic. Meanwhile, Brooke decides that she has to sober up and needs support. Deacon introduces her to AA and they bond over the shared experience of recovery.

    2. Deacon, on his way to his AA meeting, can't help himself and stops by to check on Brooke. He finds her unconscious, but she slowly wakes up. She's OK and right on the spot, agrees to go to AA with Deacon. When Deacon spills to Quinn that he's going to make sure Brooke faithfully goes to AA (with him) she goes ballistic. Deacon and Brooke bond over the shared experience of recovery.

He'll be her only "support system," blah, blah, blah.... Just like back when she was raped and Ridge and only Ridge could support her...

Sadly, you're right. It's always the same thing with Brooke and her wounded little psyche.

Something must be wrong with me. Again, today, I had a brief thought that Brooke was going to hit on Wyatt. All the signs were there: divorce papers, beckoning bedroom upstairs, maybe both get a little tipsy (well, Brooke a LOT.) Brooke, lonely, abandoned and in despair, grasps on to the nearest man as tightly as a life preserver. Only this time, instead of Deacon/Bridget... lather, rinse, repeat.

Nope, I smelled it too. Brooke's slushy "It's hard when you're adrift" and "I thought you were fun," made me queasy in that Deacon boink/Nick boink/Oliver boink anxiety. What a novelty that Wyatt was immune to Brooke's gratuitous and drunken charms.

  7. Petunia13 quote

Why is KKL/Brooke delivering her lines that way?

It's like this awful stagey singsong quality with exaggerated intonation and mannerisms. It's very "lah di dah."

    Waldo13

Brooke you were so outclassed today in your scene with Quinn. RS gave you a master class in acting. When Quinn is angry you see it in her face and her amazing blue eyes are piercing. Brooke can only manage a squint and some ridiculous accusations.

In playing the abandoned, aging ingénue and her self-medication with Good Morning, Vodka, KKL's acting style has been hokey and affected. KKL doesn't personally relate to this turn of events for Brooke, and her acting technique telegraphs her clumsy interpretation of the storyline. She's been terrible and isn't getting better.

The idiocy between her, Deacon and Quinn -- forbidding their marriage as if she had any power to prevent it -- astonishes. Brooke 'gave up' Bill for Katie's sake. Brooke is done with Ridge, and never wants him back. Eric rejected her when she was last preg-ative with Bill's spawn. Now, the last man in Los Angeles is engaged.

Deacon is in love with Quinn -- someone who actually appreciates him, is emotionally available and wants to work with him.

Brooke doesn't want that. Brooke wants to be attended to and coddled. Once she has her fill (Deacon brings himself to the table, not much else) or is convinced someone better is on the horizon, she'll dump him.

As I said in the retro thread once, B&B means never having to say "Too subtle." This show has always taken a hack saw when only a fine chisel is needed, which isn't as bothersome when the result makes for unintentional comedy....like Taylor's alcoholism or the Ridge versus KL!Rick scenes that routinely made their way onto The Soup on VH1.

    This OTOH? Just no.

    SweePea59 quote

I'm waiting for Brooke to do something really cringeworthy to make it all worthwhile. She's just warming up right now.

Quinn can't get out of her own way, and Brooke is full of 60 proof and emotionally debilitating vanity. The two of them will have a showdown, dragging Bn'B and everyone down with them ... as usual.

i can't wait until fucking Rick gets his. He's such an asshole.

Rick still dogging Aly and Ivy with unreasonable personal and professional demands -- Check

Rick is rewriting his 'difficult' up-bringing by taking real or imagined slights out on his family and employees to toughen them up -- Check

Maya going along with Rick's capricious behavior -- Check

    Eric MIA -- Check

Brooke drinkin' and feudin' with Quinn, MIA -- Check

Ridge and Caroline bodypainting and boinking beyond Rick's influence -- Check

Aly admitting she's sucking up to Rick and Maya to boost her non-existent design career -- Check

Rick arbitrarily gives Aly's bedroom to Nicole, and she has to double-up with Ivy (Who knew the mansion was a 3 bedroom rambler in the 'burbs?)-- Check

As Rick escalates his autocratic 'rule,' particularly against Aly -- the most insecure and desperate Forester -- the worse their final conflict will be. It will end with the board stripping Rick of his position at FC and at the manse.

Yeah, Rick's a first class asshole and is going to get it in spades ... or with the working end of a spade.

Does this mean the Spencer takeover is null and void? I certainly hope so, cause it was all kinds of ridiculous, not to mention full of gaping holes. It also means I won’t be seeing any more of Steffy. She was becoming uber annoying, with all her talk about history, and connections; so self assured in her arrogance. But Liam didn’t take the bait, even after Steffy was willing to pimp out her shares of FC’s to ensure a future with him, he wouldn’t budge. So much for what Steffy and Liam had, and the best part of it all, was that Ivy didn’t have to do a thing.

Liam and Ridge still have the desire to go ahead with the hostile takeover (or so they say), but collectively don't have the means with Steffy and Thomas' shares out of play. They could call a shareholders meeting and try a vote of no confidence with Rick. It will be an uphill battle with the bottom line looking so plush and Eric so confident in Rick's management.

Brooke doesn’t want Deacon. And she doesn’t want Ridge. After Ridge rejected her, and she was toasting all her men, her first thoughts were of Bill. There was a full montage too. But Brooke wants Katie to be happy; she doesn’t give a fig about Quinn or Caroline, other than showing them who has the stronger relationship with Deacon and Ridge. Even so, it looks as though Brooke is going to start remembering, and romanticizing, her and Deacon’s affair, in order to start some kind of B/Q/D triangle. Brooke is looking more pathetic by the day; the humiliated sister; ex-lover of her brother-in-law, who is alone and using a drunken haze to wallow in her self pity.

An idle Cooter is the Devil's workshop ... Brooke never really needs much convincing when she's in a dry spell. That fetid pit of desperation in her character usually finds relief at someone's expense.

Next to Ridge and Caroline; Deacon and Quinn are becoming my favorite couple. They are so unexpected, and so unique; I find them a breath of fresh air in their quirky weirdness. Even so, after Quinn smacked Brooke, instead of offering to help her up I wish Quinn had jumped on top of Brooke and started kissing her. That would have been hella more exciting than most of what we have gotten this week. Two beautiful women testing the waters? Maybe it would be good for Brooke to swim upstream for a change. Just sayin.

I like them, too. They make sense together. They fit together. They are believable and affectionate. They make Wyatt twitchy and uncomfortable -- Good enough for me.

Because I hang on every word out of TK's sexy mouth, I can tell you that he's in that loft because he said he's already had the mansions and the fast cars but they never really made him happy.

Translation: The Bn'B production budget doesn't allow for anything posh, so let's put together a dark bohemian artist loft to go along with the nascent artistic inclinations of Ridge 2.0.

Rick is a massive scumbag. Maya seems to be embarrassed but not enough to actually stop him. Why did Ally put up with that? She doesn't need that.

    LittleIggy quote

Aly needs to grow up and tell those assholes that she is not their slave. She also needs to tell Eric about that treatment. Not that the senile fool would do anything about it.

Unless if TIIC have completely rewritten Aly as an obsequious doormat, she has a deep pool of family resentment, insecure crazy to draw from. Rick and Maya should tread lightly with her.

Aly retreated from her complaints about Rick's treatment, folding like a cheap lawn chair when he said he would consider her shoe line during the Big Confrontation. Aly is so eager to get a 'go ahead,' she'll massage Maya's feet because Rick demands it. I can understand why Rick would turn his nose up at her designs; they don't seem to be congruent with any of the recent FC fashions. She isn't designing in concert with Ridge and Caroline's work or as an addition to Ivy's accessories.

Incidentally, why can't Aly and Ivy live at Thorne and Darla's old home? Aly still has that Little Girl pink bedroom with the dollhouse and other adolescent Hope Logan flotsam. They don't have to put up with Rick and Maya's tubby time if they don't want to.

  13. I don't understand why I should be invested in this story.  We all know that JMW is not coming back full time, so there's no mystery about who Liam will "choose."  We're just wasting time.

Then we have Ridge pulling a play from his parents playbook by trying to force someone to be in a relationship they don't want for business purposes.  What is this crap?

    Shira quote

Yep, exactly. I was just checking in to write how this show is going to make me mute my TV boyfriend, TK (whose mere voice alone is enough to get me a little tipsy with lust) if he's resigned to a shit-awful script that has him leveraging an international company's takeover for his delusional daughter to get back her crappy waffle of an ex-husband who always chose her SECOND after the spoiled little brat he really wanted did some random thing to delay their inevitable reunion. Really, Ridge? This is the guy for your daughter?

Ridge going to Liam, openly pimping out Steffy (granted, she's more than willing) for control of Forester Creations was revolting.

  14. Isn't Deacon an alcoholic? Does Brooke know that? Or she does and doesn't care.Just another thing that makes her look pathetic.

Sort of ... I guess it depends on what drives the plot Deacon is placed. If alcohol is an issue for him, it's driven home with a hammer.

On his last trip to Genoa City he was in recovery and going to AA, falling off the wagon with Nicki Newman. Way back when on Bn'B, he was a recovering alcoholic with Macy Alexander. In this recent return Deacon drinks moderately, recognizing Brooke's drinking as out of the norm from their history together.

Wyatt knows his mother is looney working her up against Brooke is really not the smartest idea.

Wyatt has every reason to be suspect of Deacon. He has a terrible reputation, (like himself) a familiar oily charm, insinuates himself with people for his own benefit, one can't easily read if he is being sincere or deceptive, and is the father of his estranged wife.

Wyatt knows Quinn can turn on a dime, and Quinn was ready to cut loose Brooke after warning her earlier.

We don't know what involvement Brooke had on Hope choosing to divorce Wyatt, but she surely didn't see a downside to Hope divesting herself of the 'wrong' Spencer. Perhaps Wyatt had an ulterior motive in launching his mother at Brooke.

Brooke looks like such a newbie lush with the way she grimaces each time she takes a sip. Stick with wine or are we now supposed to believe that she is so desperate that she'll drink whatever is on hand?

So far Brooke has not been a particularly discerning self-medicating drinker: Vodka and champers the day of the wedding, scotch and white wine today ... amateur hour.

I hate to see Deacon sucked back into the Golden Cooter Vortex again. Brooke is a sinkhole of desperation and want, nothing good will come of being her disco stick. Deacon and Quinn are a more supportive and realized couple, genuinely involved with each other.

  16. Eric saying putting Rick in charge was the best decision he ever made was eye-rolling. I hope Ridge turns on him.

No problem there. Ridge just needed a little incentive, like Steffy going to the lawyers, to give him a reason to betray his entire family for revenge.

Yay for you, Ridge. Another moral victory.

Why are they taking Brooke down this "I can't get a man so I'm going to become a fucking drunk" route?

It doesn't bode well when Brooke and Eric are celebrating Rick's business success over one bottle of scotch -- Not nearly enough to tide over Our Miss Brooke.

Brooke going alcoholic for the week does occupy her time on screen ... it is Emmy bait ... not that KKL is particularly good at it.

Ivy, Ivy, Ivy ... Aggressive sexual conduct for Liam/$Bill/Ridge/Oliver/Rick's attention is Steffy's stock-in-trade; It's a Forester family tradition. It is a big mistake to make empty threats, making Liam more desirable to Steffy. Seducing him out of spite will become a greater challenge for her, and she generally wins that contest.
