  1. Well, it's been a minute.  I moved houses and what-not.  Took me a while to catch up both with the show and the on-line posting.  So... here's a massive data dump of feels/thoughts, bolded for skimming:

Baby Mama Drama: Rex is the MVP.  LG has about 15 emmy reel options.  Loved Xander just trying to help (he really DOES love her and the Baby).  Was Brady dropped on his head as a child? Just saying -- I can see HOW the story wrote it to make rational sense to Brady in Brady-view but it's thin (bottom line - he didn't want to lose access to Tate.  That's it.  That's the rationale).  I think Kristin will protect Rachel from harm (and get her medical follow-up), but Kristin needs to avoid any kind of stress whatsoever because she's got a Hyde side with an instinct to kill.  Not Rachel, never Rachel, but anyone who is a threat to Rachel.

Eric/Nicole: If ONLY his speech hadn't called Rachel 'the most important person in the world to me', I would have been okay with it.  He had very good points.  But it came across "me, me, me!" a bit.  At the end, when Nicole hugged him ... I swear the look on her face was 'come here man-baby, let me distract you so you don't do something you'll regret."  I swear, she knows EXACTLY who she has as a future husband (that's coming, right?).

Gabi/Jake: Love to see the Stabi-vibe back.  I am convince Rolf was lying, but I'm also convinced Jake is Stephan's body.  Now... WHO's personality is on the chip in his head?  Before Stevano went to surgery, he gave instructions to Rolf to execute some backup plan.  I think Jake could be sporting a Stefano chip in his Stefan body.  And Jake is a backstory written up by Rolf.  Because there was too much brain damage with the bullet, so there was some serious 'weird science' shit with this particular transformation.

Cin: I've come to accept them as a couple and enjoyed Ben worried about Hope.  I do find Ciara seriously entitled and she needs to learn some humility.  I expect Eve, JJ, Eric (he lost Serena), and the mid-wife's family to always shun Ben.  And I think Ciara needs to accept that.  I'm actually okay with how Will/Ben bonded.  Will's choice, and it's in keeping with his personality.  But WHO will be the maid of honor/best man?  I'd vote for crazy cakes (Claire) and Will.

New Zoey works better for me than old Zoey.  I am alone in this, I understand.  I'm glad she violated her attorney/client privilege.  Christen does accept responsibility for murdering Jordan.  That's an issue for me.

Orpheus can fall in a hole.  Anytime now.  Please.

Maggie: My dear sweat soap-opera Queen!  What a run she has had.  Brilliant acting.  Julie racing out there to gossip is just so ... Julie.

Lani/Eli - I'm ready to move on .  It was very Lani of her to let Kristin go.  And I think she's a better cop than most.

Justin - this is not going to work out in the end.  You know it.  The audience knows it.  I feel bad for you.

Abigail TOUCHED the Phoenix ring a while back.  Maybe it's got some slow-acting mental poison that Rolf designed.  Scary story, enjoying the way they show the hallucinations.  I blame Stefano.

    Wants:
Xander to continue being supported by Victor (but I'm worried about that... Victor wants to win Brady back... Xander getting shafted could be Brady's price).  I want him to continue to support Sarah.

Sarah & Maggie: I want them to be in a room with a lot of chocolate, Netflix, and comfy pajamas.  Where they can cry and hug and support each other.

Kate to get the job from Abe.

  2. I'm mystified by the Orpheus motivation.

Who is hurt the by drugging Maggie -- because THAT's the act.  Is it Victor he wants to punish? Was he hoping Maggie would drive drunk and get killed?

Or was it to set up Maggie for killing Adrienne and Sarah?

Scenario (waaaay convoluted... hang with me):

    - Sarah was early into labor.  So, maybe Sarah was ALSO drugged to send her into labor.
    - Summer is an asshat who works with Orpheus.  Orpheus sends in Summer to divert Maggie and get Maggie her to the edge of drinking. Orpheus or Evan drug Maggie while the other one runs Adrienne/Sarah off the road.  MAYBE they were simply hoping that Sarah/Adrienne would die and it would look like Maggie's fault.  THAT would kill Maggie and crush Victor.
    - Xander is the fly in the Chardonnay,  he gets Henderson to get Maggie home and 'saves' Sarah.  Will is also an unexpected complication, taking the blame.  The baby died naturally and the switch was ALL on Victor/Xander but this just makes shit worse eventually.

Regardless, the baby is a DNA match for Kristin.  And Baby Mickey likely died due to the car crash.  I don't think we have another baby swap.

  3. I’m doing a rewatch.  FULL SERIES SPOILERS WARNING

I’m up to Reichenbach Falls.  Knowing how it turns out, I saw things from a different perspective.  I could see the setup much more clearly.

It’s still a shock when Moriarty shoots himself.

Molly is the MVP in this episode.  I just love her.

And I want to wrap Watson up in a blanket and hug him.  It’s hard to watch his pain.

    So it really is Hope.

Nononononono, Nicole got herself a Karen haircut.

Why does idiot Eric never question Nicole when she's acting shady?

I wonder if Ciara is going to wonder if she can compete with Will in the bed.

Funny how Xander is always able to find a corrupt hospital worker.

    Tuition loans are brutal.

Gabi hitting Abi (DO NOT SCROLL_it's from the spoiler thread):

  5. With Eric & Brady now in on the suspicions about Mackenzie, how is it possible that there's a Xarah wedding in the Spring?  Does EVERYONE keep it from the mothers until some dramatic moment when Eric can interrupt the wedding to let Sarah know the baby is not hers?  Because:

    1) Salem wedding so of course we need DRAMA
    2) It would be the WORST time to tell Sarah
    3) The menfolk know better than the womenfolk on Days -- until someone loses an EYE.

  6. The fight: Thermonuclear war.  Both lose.  Both fired to deeply hurt the other in a meaningful way.  I want them to come back from this, I don’t know how.  And this fight was coming since childhood.

Beth: Wins the most entertaining award.  Her reactions were priceless.

BabyMama: I’m GLAD Madison is pregnant.  This is her miracle birth.  I’m glad Kevin is all-in.  Loved her telling a barista who wasn’t ‘invested’.

Horse Girl: Just another TIU ‘moment of clarity from random stranger.’

Miguel: He does whatever Rebecca wants.  He made that choice a long time ago and it’s not going to change.

I loved Sophie’s reaction to the billboard.

Nicky remains a hoot.  I’m glad he & Cassidy are still buddies.

I’m glad Toby & Kate adopt another child.

Finally, I think the makeup is off for the aging in the future.  I think they’ve really created a continuity issue with the various children’s ages too.  When they give us ‘the answer’ on the date, I’ll shrug and move on.

But they are talking about the 18 episodes already filmed and only needing post-production. Once again, I believe that they are earnest about their intentions to film the final two episodes as they would have been without this interruption, but I don't believe anyone can offer a guarantee of that happening, unless they have already negotiated and signed deals with all involved. We'll see.

I suspect they added a contract addendum already for the main cast.  Why wouldn't they step out quickly on this?  Seems more likely they would secure the cast first (including Misha, hence he made a comment he feels he can back) and THAT's why they can announce a plan.  Traditionally that's how they've sequenced thing: rough agreement b/w CW & WB, secure cast, announcement by CW.  It may have caveats in the clauses like:
    - assumes production in Vancouver can start by 1 Sept (just a ballpark guess)

DEADLINE article about scheduling changes across the tv board.

    Specific to Supernatural:

Very much what some of us have been speculating on. As to when the 7 episodes air, that's dependent upon when studios and sets get back up and running.

And hey... PRECISELY what Misha was saying.

I'd also add the following paragraph from the article:

    Quote

The CW has become the first network to make primetime scheduling changes in response to the seasons of most of its series getting cut short by the coronavirus-imposed mass production shutdowns.

So... it seems highly unlikely Misha was just posting speculation.

MAKING UP FOR LOST TIME – Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) discover a wood nymph (guest star Meagan Fey) living in the bunker who is determined to protect her family, at any cost. Eduardo Sanchez directed the episode written by Jeremy Adams (#1514).

Looking at this synopsis and the last episode got before coronahiatus, and the upcoming titles:

    15.14 Last Holiday

    15.15 Gimme Shelter

15.16 Drag Me Away (From You)

    15.17 Unity

    15.18 The Truth

    15.19 Inherit the Earth

    15.20 Carry On

This theme of 'close down every other place' is continuing on.  For example, the AU Sam & Dean showing up.  Now we have someone from the Fairy Realm?  And the title after that is "Gimme Shelter".  Just seems like a common theme. Perhaps by the time we get to "Unity" this collapsing thing will be 'done'.

Episode I'm looking MOST forward to: "The Truth".  I'm so desperate for real answers.

Well, the official @cwspn account is pretty much useless, but it being said by Dabb does give it more weight. But a) things can, and are, changing on the daily right now, and b) what else are they going to say at this point?

    B) they could ...

    - say we are committed to completing and leave off the specific timing of ‘by the end of this year’.
    - say nothing
    - say even more like ‘and the sets will stay in place til it’s done’
    - say ‘we are running the remaining episodes we’ve filmed as soon we complete post-production efforts (this begging the question ... what about the yet-to-be-filmed episodes?

    In short they:

    1) made a choice to make a public statement via twitter (clearly less weight than a press release)
    2) choose to set a time limit on how long it will take (this calendar year)
    3) clarified that new episodes likely not to air in the near future

I’d say they made some specific choices and had plenty of options on what they chose to say.

  11. Good of him (and the CW and WB) to ease our hearts.

it’s like breaking up Harry Potter 7, and Game throne Last season.  Maybe they’ll ‘Restart’ in the fall as an alternative to the missing new shows.
It kinda comes down to the Lot in many ways.  They can’t get in there to deconstruct due to restrictions, so they have to skeedaddle in there to film as soon as open.

And Jensen, himself, has not said one word, anywhere, pertaining  to this that I  have seen-unless I missed it; and if so, by all means, do tell to anyone who has access to that scoop.

Around Vegas Con timeframe he said he decided to read the last script out loud and couldn’t do it because it was too emotional.

  13. It took me a minute, but I think I got the double meaning to the title. ‘Destiny’s Child’ seems like it’s Jack ‘fulfilling his destiny’ and ALSO Destiny’s Child were three FABULOUS WOMEN: Jo, Meg, Ruby.

    quick thoughts:

    1) wow, hiatus again... there were more questions than answers
    2) some good humor - I love Meg’s sass, I miss her
    3) ‘Samwitch’ - hee
    4) I don’t trust Death, I don’t trust The Empty, I don’t trust anyone but TFW 2.0.  Jack is back in the Circle of Trust (for now) because he has a soul.
    5) Jo/Ruby was a total retcon.   But I’m happy to give the boys some fond memories time.
    6) oh how I wish we could have had Crowley back.
    7) I like that Dean thinks Amara is part of the deal.  I suspect he’s cottoning on the he’s in the dark because it would be Winchester Dumb to try and save Amara (which they will and I’m here for that).
    8 ) I’m feeling bereft with the Covid19Hiatus.

As mentioned above, the trans dimensional RPS was a win.  Nd I still don’t know where we are headed, but I found the episode entertaining.

  14. Well done AZ & SH.  As fights go, that one got pretty physical.  Both are scrappy.

Kate and Gabi should both be checked for Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).  They take more blows than most football players.

Xarah makes me sad these days.  Because every good thing Sarah says is not going to last.  And Xander feels it too.

I need Chad to de-zombify.  It's just not working for me.

  15. I am COMPLETELY ready to blame the victim.  At this point Kate SHOULD have figured out a way to stash a key, a high powered transmitter, some canned goods or something else in her home-away-from-home known as the Dimera Wine Cellar prisoner room.  Seriously, she should be getting reward points on her next visit -- maybe a blanket?

If they ever get that chip out of Stevano, I want to see it turned to slag. Of course, Rolf may have a backup.

I'm ready for Evan to get his comeuppance and Rafe to get David back.

By the time Rebecca and MIguel get together, Randall is married with a baby.  Randall's hands would be full, and I could see him welcoming Miguel as someone to take care of Rebecca and be there when he cannot.  At that time Kate and Kevin were in California and apparently only saw their mother when they came to visit.  We know that Kevin wasn't too happy with Miguel as his stepdad, but Tess and Annie saw him as their grandfather.  He was welcomed into Randall's family.  As long as things were normal and running smoothly, I can see Miguel and Rebecca quietly living their life without much interference from Randall.  We only see the cracks in the family now when Rebecca is sick.  Randall is also taking over and disregarding Miguel and his role as Rebecca's husband.  We really haven't been shown how Kate and Kevin view Miguel and his role going forward.  I wonder if we will next week.

    Warning: Armchair psychology by non-professional...

Thinking back, Randall also took that "caretaker" role when Jack moved out for a couple of nights. Kevin even called him out on it.  It's not remotely Oedipal from a sexual perspective.  I think Rebecca just was idolized and Randall picked a side rather quickly.  SO... when Jack died, is part of Randall's guilt the underlying belief that Jack was not as good of a husband as he should have been?  Some deep-seeded resentment that Rebecca should have been taken better care for than Randall thought she was?  Or that he had wished (secretly) that Jack would leave and she would be happier?  It would have been childish and wrong but perhaps there's guilt there because of Jack's untimely death.   So he tolerated Miguel originally because he realized he COULDN'T be what his mother needed and Miguel made her happy?

Now add that his "Madonna" had feet of clay and lied to him about something important - that crashed his vision.  I honestly believe the 'crime' of not telling him was not a big deal before 18 and after that, there were extenuating circumstances that rocking Randall's world for the next few years would have been debatable.  If William had gone back to using, it would have been devastating to feel like he lost a second parent all over again.  If William was great, he might leap to him as a father figure and Rebecca would likely resent that immediately post Jack's death.  Still, 36 was TOO LATE.  Mid-20's would have been better.  Once Randall was stable, had a wife and a life and identity that could withstand an impact if William was still using or an asshole.  But by then Jack had ALSO risen to sainthood because he died protecting his family.  So her 'crime' was against Jack.

Basically -- by not having told Jack, Rebecca cast the die as her role of 'villain'. That was her biggest mistake IMO.  Second was not telling Randall after some respectful distance post 18 + Jack's death.

But honestly, Randall's fantasy of a Howard fraternity was also telling.  As a black man, raised mostly white, he has shown a constant 'what if' mentality.  His career change from money making weather futures expert to councilman shows that he ultimately rejected his chosen path of financial power broker.  It didn't have the people element he wanted.  So... he had an identity crisis at ~36.  And he's nearly 40 and NOT at peace with it. He's not at peace with what he perceived as a selfish withholding of identity data by Rebecca.

BUT... that's still VERY self-centered.  Life happened.  Those skills he developed as a financial power-broker is WHY he's probably good at councilman from an economics perspective.  That's extremely valuable for his community.  So.. Randall needs to VALUE the tapestry of his life and look forward.  His response to Rebecca's health crisis is him indulging his WORST childish instincts.  And he needs to be told "no".  Firmly, and with love, but he need to be told "no".

But this is This is Us.  And Kevin will have no tolerance for what he already saw as a teenager as an unhealthy predilection to idolize/own his mother.  So... that's not going to go well.

Kate's response is probably going to be "what does Mom want" and will side with Kevin.

So... strap in.. it's going to be a bumpy ride.

  17. I've been trying to put myself in Randall's panicked mind to find a way to deal with the situation.

No matter how hard I try to put on my Randall sympathy glasses, that final emotional blackmail will never be okay.  He's gambling with Rebecca's life.

And then there's the rest of the fallout independent of the risk to Rebecca:
    - He's clearly stating his opinion/needs are more important that theirs.
    - Miguel has been very respectful of the memory of Jack but this is, in fact, HIS wife.  Rebecca and he should talk this out first.
    - He puts a strain between Rebecca and the rest of the family -- because apparently Randall DOES matter more than anyone else.
    - He's likely cheesed off Beth with this "control freak" drama.

And it is blatantly stated as being done for HIM.  HE can't lose another parent.

    There is no good here.

So...what SHOULD Randall have done?  If he truly believes this is the ONLY chance to prolong her life and Rebecca won't even talk to him. It is NOT in his nature to just let it go.  And in this crisis moment - in his hyper-stressed state of mind -- about the ONLY thing I can think of is for him to write a note to Rebecca to at least express his thoughts.  Have Beth edit it.  And then show up at her door, hand her the note, and go for a walk in the park.  He at least lays out his 'case' - thus at least he 'tried' - and provided her the information in a way that she's likely to read  without the Pearson Patented Big Speech.  It's the Big Speech she wanted to avoid.  And her 'not listening' IS like gasoline on Randall's mental fire.  That's Randall's issue but it is true.

So... find another way beyond Big Speech to make your case so at least you feel you tried and were heard.

BUT... this goes right to the codependency that Randall AND Rebecca fostered shortly after Jack's death.  Randall, who always had Rebecca on a pedestal, stepped up and Rebecca let him.  Kevin DID drop out - and Rebecca let him.  Kate DID emotionally detach (at some point) - and Rebecca let her.  Letting her children go their own way isn't bad.  But letting Randall become so enmeshed was an issue.  It plays right into the weaknesses she had all along as a parent with her three children.

I'm NOT saying this is Rebecca's fault, Randall is a grown-ass man who should be capable of dealing with this.  But I am saying she enabled the entitlement Randall is now pushing.  It was just EASIER.  She made a mistake.  But that doesn't mean she has to CONTINUE to make that mistake.  It would be better for Rebecca to own that now and tell Randall 'no' than to just let him control her.
