  1. The poem was definitely edited way down from its full form. It was written on the front and back of a piece of notebook paper. With that said, what we heard was enough to get the idea that it was hot garbage. I have a hard time believing that the segments not aired were any less bad.
  2. Vivian. I just can't. I want to slap her into next year. The whole combo of: 1. Crying to the camera before going into the office about how she deserves to stay, and 2. Whining to K&J that she wasn't the only girl making mistakes on the field, and 3. The super awkward, cringe-worthy poem, and 4. Saying that "this really sucks" when the news was delivered before awkwardly shaking hands with K&J while glowering down at them, and 5. THEN proclaiming that she is a "damn good dancer and a damn good performer" and she deserves to stay. Are. You. Effing. Serious? The whole series of events just kind of made me mad. I cannot believe she is the captain of the Ice Angels. That is pure lunacy. So yeah, sad face that Chandler and Alexandra got cut, because they both seemed like humble and lovely girls. Vivian can suck an egg.
  3. I definitely don't hate Melissa, but I do think it's silly that they brought her back to mentor as a former DCC, of all people. That said, up until the intervention thing, I think she has done a pretty decent job. I do, however, think it's strange that she's chosen to go on national television looking so ratty. When she walked into the dance studio this past episode with the messiest top knot I've ever seen, I definitely raised my eyebrow. I think about it this way. How she's been wearing her hair is exactly what I do with mine AFTER I get home from work. I don't go to work that way, and never would, because I like to present myself as a professional. What she's doing with the DCC is different from what I do, sure, but it's still work. I don't care if she dresses a little casually, but either wear the hair down and brush it, or put it in a cleaner looking bun. It's just basic grooming. And it's also just kind of common sense to look groomed when you go on national television. Her hair looked better during the intervention scene. I feel like it was the first time we've seen it down and styled, and I thought it looked nice. I'll have to go back and watch again, but I definitely haven't seen any jigglyness in Jasmine's midsection. She's transformed her body from her first season, and every picture I've seen of her in the last year or so has shown a hard, long, and lean body. As far as clunky dancing, I've always thought she was a questionable dancer, and I'm surprised she keeps making it back onto the team, but I honestly have not paid much attention to her dancing since her first year, so maybe she's improved.
  4. It's possible it's not the same routine. I mean let's be honest, most routines of that genre are the same moves strung together in a different order. It's quite possible she recycled the costume and danced to different music. Who knows though. She's amazing regardless.
  5. I don't know what I can say about the Vivian situation that hasn't already been said. I guess the main thing is that I'm baffled she even made it through this episode. I was so grossly uncomfortable during her first visit to the office, what with all the excuses and back peddling. I think everyone has had moments like that -- being asked a question by a superior and knowing you don't have the right answer, so scrambling to just say something that sounds right. So it's pretty easy to call bull shit on everything Vivian said in the office the first time. I also took notice of the Barre Method montage, and the moment where Vivian had her leg up on the barre and was staring lovingly at herself in the mirror while adjusting her hair. I knew something was going to go down that had nothing to do with dance when that happened. On her second visit to the office, I loved everything Kelli said. It just goes to show Kelli really does notice everything, and can figure most of these girls out and what motivates them. Vivian really does just seem to be motivated by "fame" and popularity this year, and it's sad because if she would get her mind off that stuff and really concentrate on her dancing, she could be pretty good. I also really did not understand the "Is it ok to be fun?" thing. Where did that even fit in? Is it somehow tied in with looking at herself in the mirror too much? I don't think I'm allowed to be fun so I'm just going to stare at my own reflection instead? Ugh, gag me. Just go away already. This episode was so Vivian-centric, it's hard to organize my thoughts on anything else... I thought the intervention was awful and inappropriate. I feel like Breelan and Caila were both just saying what they were supposed to say when they gushed about how much it helped them. I think it was uncomfortable for all and did not need to happen. I felt badly for Chandler during cameos. It had to be obvious to her that they didn't like her look, and she looked really stressed. Had they never seen her smile before training camp? Give me a break. They shouldn't have taken her into camp at all, if only to spare the poor girl's feelings. Someone upthread mentioned that the way she scrunches her face up is weird, but the thing is that she's not scrunching her face up. That's just her face. That's what it does when she smiles and the only thing that could possibly fix that is plastic surgery. Alexandra makes no sense to me and I don't understand why she's there. She seems like a nice enough girl, but it's a capability issue and I think it's clear she doesn't have the capability right now. I honestly thought that when Alexandra, Mallory, and Vivian were all called into the office, it was going to be a mass cut. They can all just go away.
  6. Not sure I agree with that completely. Kelli and Judy were both pretty teeny, especially Judy. Kelli had a bit more thigh, but she also had the cleavage and tiny waist. Kitty is another story, but the standards of beauty and fitness were definitely different then.
  7. I doubt the uniform will ever stray from the design it is now aside from slight tweaks to the shorts to make them shorter etc. as has been seen in the past. It's just too iconic, and there's value in that, so they'll never change it.
  8. Agree with those who have said Loren is a little odd looking in the face. She has a large Jay Leno chin and her eyebrows are strange. I totally see the Jack Nicholson as the joker comparison. I also sensed a lot of saltiness in her attitude over her makeover. I'm just not sold on her in general.
  9. There's definitely something going on with Stephanie's face. She looks like she's had a lot of work done. Someone posted some photos from the AA Ice Angels auditions in another thread and from a distance I thought she was Fergie. I was so confused why Fergie would be at the auditions until someone told me who she was, lol. Scary face aside though, I thought her teaching style was great and she had a lot of energy. I liked that she taught the girls the dance by demonstrating it herself. She seems to really know what she's doing.
  10. Yes. This has been annoying me all season. She does it EVERY TIME she speaks to K&J or the other judges during auditons.
  11. Amy Reese was cut during season 5 and Kaitlin LeGrand was cut during season 6. I don't recall any vets being cut during training camp in season 7.
  12. I don't really remember Hannah getting more coverage than any of the other rookie standouts last year. I believe Jennifer K. got more screen time than Hannah or Samantha last year, and Jennifer K. was also rookie of the year i believe. So I wouldn't say Hannah was exactly a pet. Several other rookies were picked for show group,-- Jennifer K., Samantha, Ashley N. etc. I agree that they treated Hannah coldly, but I also believe there was something happening behind the scenes that we don't know about. I don't think they would have treated her that way otherwise, but I could be completely wrong.
  13. Maybe they're going to start paying the girls more so they have to make sure not to go over 36 this year? ...lawl. Just kidding. That ain't happening. I thought the "American thigh" comment was strange too, especially since obesity is running rampant in the US. I don't want to see real American thighs in those shorts personally.
  14. I believe the extensions being removed are Alexandra, but I'm not 100% sure.
  15. I don't find Vivian's dancing impressive at all personally. She does have a certain level of showmanship, yes, but the dancing itself isn't anywhere close to the best in the room IMO. She's super unpolished to me but I also don't know that much about dance. What I do know is that the question she asked in the social media seminar was one of the most vapid things I've ever seen on this show, and that's saying a lot. I hate how everything Vivian says and does this season is delivered with a very stilted false modesty. I just cannot stand her anymore. I feel like there is definitely a secondary reason Hannah got cut instead of one of the other girls who got warned for weight, and it probably has nothing to do with weight. IMO some of the other girls looked a lot worse than she did. Paige comes to mind. When she went into the office I was struck by how puffy her face was, and I noticed a jiggly midsection while she danced for Kitty. I think there is definitely something else that was going on with Hannah, but we will probably never know, just like we never found out what happened with Olivia S. a few years ago. I'm sad Meagan got cut and agree that she looked great in the uniform. I don't see what the big deal is about the "thutt." She has a cute butt. So what if it curves a little further down the thigh than the other girls? The more I pay attention to Breelan, the more I notice that she has a terrified looking resting face. It's not just when she's dancing during rehearsal. During the social media seminar, she had crazy eyes and pursed lips the whole time. Just super weird.
  16. The easiest way is to just type it like so, deleting the spaces I'm putting between the brackets: [ spoiler]Type your text with spoilers here.[ /spoiler]
  17. Agree with everything you said blairwaldorf. I chuckle every year when K&J spout off about how "this is the most talented group of girls we've ever had audition EVER," but this year it was especially funny after Kitty Carter said none of the girls who came to her studio were going to make the squad dancing like they did that night. Obviously many of those girls made training camp, and many of them make the team, but it was just so deliciously ironic and contradictory. I felt like that was sloppy editing, honestly. Sure, what she said was a sweeping generalization -- she did compliment a few girls on their solos -- but they probably should have left that comment out of the show completely if they were then going to use footage of K&J talking about this year's group being the best ever. I have to agree with those who have said Melissa Rycroft has been fun to watch on the show. She always had a cute personality, and I guess that's why she's gone so far in reality television. However, I still think it's silly that she was asked back, out of all of the retired cheerleaders. I'll just take it with a grain of salt, though, because while I'm not in the school of thought that K&J are horrible, having someone different on the judging panel who gets actual screen time is still refreshing. I'm interested to see how she "mentors" the girls during training camp -- will she actually have anything of substance to say to these girls? We will see. It's been a few days since I've watched the episode, so I'm honestly having a hard time remembering most of the girls. Melissa and Erica were the only ones who stuck out to me -- Melissa because she is SUCH a fantastic dancer, and Erica because of all the flack she took over her hair. I really don't get that. I'm going to have to watch it again though because I don't remember noticing she was that great of a dancer, but I was doing two things at once so I probably just didn't see. I. Cannot. Stomach. Vivian. She's awful this year, and last year I was one of the people rooting for her and whining on TWOP when she didn't make the squad (even if her legs did look funny in those boots). IMO, she came across a lot more genuine last year. This year it's all about "my fans my fans my fans," *flutters eyelashes* and it just kind of makes my stomach hurt. Enough said about that. Hannah's body change is confusing since she was SO thin last year. I never would've thought in a million years that she'd come back for her second season looking so soft, but I definitely agree that it looked like it would be an easy enough fix. Her stomach just looked like it needed a little toning. Otherwise she's still thin.
  18. Are there people who actually don't condition? Lol, I can't imagine because my hair would be totally unmanageable without it. I don't think it's true that it will always stay healthy if you condition though. Hair changes with age just like skin does and some people are just more lucky than others. A lot of women have complete changes in texture after or around menopause. Judy has maintained what looks to me like a very nice texture and thickness. But enough hair talk. :D
  19. I've always thought her hair was gorgeous. I hope mine looks that good when I'm 50.
  20. I feel like they very well might say the fan vote saved her skin, and we've seen in previews that she will be in the office at least once. I don't know much about dance, but I will say that I thought her dance video for the vote was horribad, and I don't think she's that cute in the face either. Too many thoughts on the episode to put them all down right now, but I just have to say: 1. Good riddance Morgan, and 2. Breelan's clown face really frightens me.
  21. Disagree, but that's just me. IMO none of them look great in that video and every girl there is generally a great dancer.
  22. They're not shy about saying girls are heavy by any means. The "heaviest" girl by DCC standards I can think of who made it to training camp was Elizabeth Reuter, and she was let go only because of weight. So...they don't have to come up with a reason for anything, lol.
  23. Agree with everyone that Vivian was beyond annoying on the first episode. I was rooting for her last year, but this year, not so much. I also have to say that after browsing her "fan" Facebook page, I find her insufferable.
