  1. I kinda feel bad saying this about a kid but --- I hate that kid!!!!!!! Ugh! It's clear the dumb little bastard would rather go live as a monster with his vampire mother so let him. I'm done with that idiot.

Poor Nora. She was a favorite of mine. :(

Oh, Eph. You're like the Keystone Cops of the Vampire Apocalypse.

Fet and Abe continue to be awesome. Glad you got dead, Coco.

The only character whose demise will upset me is Tex.

Same here. Tex is my fave. He better not get bumped off. I was happy he found his daughter.

I will be shocked if Rachel is dead. But I fail to see how it's a big cliffhanger. Even if she died, she's already found the cure and her data is recorded and can be passed on to other scientists and doctors. A much better cliffhanger would be if there were some major side effects to the vaccine or perhaps the virus unexpectedly mutates to be resistant to the cure.

I re-watched and I don't think the man who shot Rachel was sick. He looked dirty and sweaty, more than a little crazy, but not sick.

My biggest pet peeve has to be the working cell phones. There's no electricity with the infrastructure down so how are they keeping them charged? More over, why would you keep one turned on all the time knowing there is no internet or cell service? A radio broadcast makes more sense than a cellphone message sent out.

  3. My new drinking game -- Every time someone zaps the Android, take a drink.

Oh, geez, please NOT a One/Two/Three triangle, show. I hate triangles.

My speculation is that Five heard the recording about the plotted murder and assumed it was Six they were going to kill. But it will probably be One they were gonna off, cause they figured out he was an impostor. Five created the program to mess with their memories in an attempt to protect Six but something went wrong with her plan and the memory wipe went further than she was expecting.

Or another theory -- Six could've been undercover for the GA all along. Or, after the terrorist bombing he was blamed for, the GA captured him and offered him a deal if he'd help bring in the Raza members. Perhaps he''s been faking amnesia all this time.

All the standard disclaimers about mileage varying and your being entitled to your opinion and all that stuff, but I had to dig really deep to find a statement I disagree with more strenuously than I do this one. He's every bit as beautiful as she is, and he's also every bit as awesome as she is.

I agree with this 100%. Johnny is the true catch of the show to me. Sure, I think he's good-looking but it's more than his looks. He's a good person who is fiercely loyal and supportive to anyone he cares about. He's the guy who stayed home to care for his (presumably drug addict) mother when everyone else left. He's the guy who'd take his best friend across the galaxy in a heartbeat to protect her. Who'd risk his own neck to save his estranged brother. Who risked his life to save Pawter and the others without hesitation. Johnny is rock solid in my book. Dutch or any woman on the show would be lucky to land him. Or man, for that matter. I'm down with a bi Johnny.

Well, if Johnny/Dutch as a mutually non-sexual relationship is so believable, then what really is the problem with D'Avin/Dutch as a sexual relationship? I

My dislike is because I think it's forced. They jumped right into them as "the pairing" of the show immediately. I'd rather see things unfold slowly, see what clicks and what doesn't. To me, they don't have that great a chemistry and I don't buy "insta-love" storylines. I also don't care for the cliched notion that, if there's 3 main characters, then 2 of them have to be sleeping with each other.

  6. I don't think it's a given that Johnny is secretly (or not so secretly) in love with Dutch. Obviously the writers can throw that in if they choose but I prefer them not to. I like Johnny and Dutch as two people who love each other deeply, that are 100% devoted to each other, but it not be romantic love. I find that way more interesting than just being "Oh, yeah, they're in love". It makes it more complex and will obviously affect any romantic relationships they may have along the way. Kinda hearkening back to the "Dawson's Creek" idea that your "soulmate"is the person who just gets you like no other. And that can be your best friend and you don't have to be "in love" with them. I'd like to see them test Johnny and Pawter, but only if she gets clean. Don't want him with a drug addict. That won't end well.

Whoever said in a previous thread that the showrunners idea of writing a strong female character is just writing her like a guy was so right

Yep. And One is being written as the needy teenage girlfriend.

  8.

to widely held suspicions of Luke MacFarlane being gay.

I don't think there is any "suspicion" about it. Luke MacFarlane is openly gay and has been out for some time, going back to his days in "Brothers & Sisters". It's a pretty well known fact and definitely something TPTB would've known before hiring him. I appreciate them hiring him to play a straight character, too many execs would've have. So I don't think they'd kill him off or get rid of his character for something they knew going in.

I like D'Avin. I like LM in the role. I think he does good. I really enjoy the brothers relationship. I just don't like having a pairing shoved on me from the start. I'd rather things unfold naturally and see what clicks with fans and what doesn't. Dutch/D'Avin doesn't really work for me. But I'm not shipping Dutch/Johnny either. I wish they would've just let them be a platonic team and let love interests come from outside their trio, at least for the first season or two.

Anyhow, I don't think Khlyen was sent by Dutch's father -- I think he is Dutch's father. That scene where she asked if her father really sent him, I couldn't have been the only one expecting him to go all Darth Vader in that moment, "I am your father".

Anybody else catch the 'Battlestar Galactica' reference?

    "So say we all."

I wish they'd stop trying to force Dutch/D'Avin.

Johnny is freaking awesome. I love that guy.

  10. One is so horribly written. How can all the other characters be interesting and him and Two just make me want to turn the channel?

The report listed Three as a "suspect" in the wife's death so I doubt he will have done it. But, if he did, the wife probably hired him to kill her to put her out of the misery of being married to One.

  11. I'm not sure the show even realizes how much it's re-enforcing all of Pope's accusations against Tom putting his family above "the greater good" vs others. For all of Tom's claims that he'd risk his own life to save his loved ones but he wouldn't risk the mission -- well, guess what he does? This week he's told that he's the Special Snowflake Unicorn Baby Jesus, the only one who can save the world. And his response is a basic "Screw the world, I'm going to save Hal". Who cares if there's no world left for Hal (and his other kids) to live on afterwards. Guess the 2nd Mass shouldn't be so picky about the planet it wants to reside on.

ITA that making Anthony a villain is just cheap writing. Pope, ok. He's always had the potential to turn on Tom. But Anthony? That one is out of the blue.

  12. Yes, show, we get it. Tom Mason is it. The only man anywhere ever that can save the world. In all of humanity that is left on Earth, no one can do anything but Tom Mason. Nope, not one other soul can save the planet. Has to be the Super Special Glitter Snowflake Unicorn that is Tom Mason. WE GET IT! Ease up on the anvils thrown at our heads every week, thx.

I guess Pope is now the big bad for the rest of the season. Cause mutant aliens from outer space wasn't enough. And Hal will hook up with Not-Nurse to pave the way for Pedophile Maggie and Ben or whatever the middle Mason is named. Thank God this show is ending soon.

  13. I don't know why the show feels it has to jump right into a possible Dutch/D'avin pairing. I like it when shows build slowly, test the waters first and see how it goes. Plus, I uber-hate "love triangles" which is what it will end up being (even if it's just in the sense of Johnny feeling like a third wheel if they get together). I'd much rather they be a platonic trio with their love interests being outside their little group.

I think there could be some truth to the Level Six legend. Perhaps that is what D'avin was a part of in the military that he can no longer remember.

  14. I'm so glad One finally got laid. Maybe now he can go a few scenes without acting like he's a 12 year old boy and Two is his first Playboy Magazine.

Three is my favorite as well so I enjoyed getting a little backstory on him.

But for them to be in outer space somewhere, how come all the accents were of Earth origin (Australian, German, Swedish, etc.)? They couldn't come up with some cool new planet name to claim the accent belonged to?

    • Love 1
  15. Exactly, tv echo! You summed up my thoughts perfectly. It's all about the double standard Tom has when it comes to his sons vs. others. Which I can see a father doing, but not the leader of their little army. An army that Tom's sons have chosen to be a part of so they shouldn't get special treatment over any other soldier. So Tom can call me when he makes a conscious choice to leave his kid in epic peril to go win a battle instead. Otherwise, he's just blowing hot air.

I got to hand it to Anne, though, she masterfully threw Tom's sons under the bus with Pope. She was basically like, "Oh, Tom doesn't love me nearly as much as he loves his sons. They are everything to him, I'm just a second thought". Heh. Well played, Anne, well played. (I know, I know, this wasn't what the writers were going for but it kinda came across that way.)

  16. I really hate this plotline. Isn't it enough they have to fight aliens and skitters and overlords and freak-wasps, now Tom has to go fight Pope, too? Meh, I'll pass.

I hate them doing this with Pope. He was the one character who could call the Mason's on their crap and nepotism. But now all the valid points he's made will get brushed under the rug of "Ignore Pope, he went cray-cray and is the villain now". Also, BaldPope is just wrong.

However, if by some miracle he succeeds next week and does killl Hal, he'll be my favorite person ever.

Tector mention. *Wails* I miss you, Tector!

  17. I like both shows but I definitely think "Killjoys" is the best. It's better written, more well-rounded and just all around more fun.

The Android on DM is my biggest gripe about that show and the one thing that keeps taking me out of scenes. The performance is horrible, IMO. I feel like there's an irritating, peppy cheerleader in there just dying to break free. She needs to watch "Humans" and take pointers.

  18.

Maggie confirmed that Pope allowed his group to sexually assault her

Didn't Pope say to her (was it last season?) that she should've told him what was happening and he'd have stopped it?

Yeah, it's a very human reaction to want to save someone you love, even make their lives a priority over someone you don't care as much about. But it's not necessarily a good leadership choice. Do you really want the man in charge, calling all the shots, deciding to risk everything to go save his wife or kid but saying "screw yours, I'll get around to them later". Tom's family have chosen to be soldiers in his army, they should get the exact same treatment as any other soldier.

    • Love 1
  19. Pope was spot on when he said that, if it'd been someone Tom loved as opposed to someone he loved, Tom would've dropped everything to go save them. Some Mason's need to die already, any not just the alien spawn child Lexi. I need some Mason blood on the ground by season's end to even things out here.
