  1. MVP Cordelia...YES! And 'The Wish' is the exact point I went from liking this show to loving it.
  2. Is anyone else here watching this for the 1st time? As a first time viewer, I a) love the show, b) love S3 and the Mayor (and Cordelia for good measure), and c) hate Angel. I just finished S6 -- oh boy, I can't wait for Sarah's rewatch of that mess! -- and have to say S5 is my favorite so far, it really should've ended the show. But maybe S3 is a favorite because of nostalgia? Which is fine of course, but between the Willow/Xander romance, Angel doing/saying anything, and inconsistencies in the plotting, this season just doesn't feel like the "best" (to me).
  3. Not only does this show get better after Season 1, it just keeps getting better all the way (for the most part)! Season 5 Episode 1 was my favorite of the series and (SHAMELESS PLUG) I submitted it for the canon not-so-long-ago. Hope you guys get around to considering it ;-) Oh, and thanks for the reports Tara! Looking forward to the rest
  4. I have to agree with you on both points. First, I've had relationships with people who couldn't speak outstanding English (granted a lot better than Amia) and lived in another country, but it was totally possible to communicate through other methods besides language: eye contact, smiles, body language, etc. It's a completely different kind of energy and passion. And truthfully those relationships can never last (for me at least), which was echoed in Louie. It was never going to work out for Louie and Amia, but that was never really the point I don't think... And to your 2nd point, the awkwardness and "misses" of this show are part of what it makes it wonderful and realistic :) I also really don't think Amia was referring to the sex as "no good". I interpreted it as being "I didn't want to have sex because it's too emotionally painful to say goodbye now". And I think Louie understood that as well (eventually).
  5. Hi Sarah! Just saying thanks for the Buffy Rewatch, enjoying it a lot :) I'm watching the show for the 1st time and up to about the halfway point of Season 5. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Season 4, which has been my favorite so far. I thought the transition to college was handled pretty well actually, although I'm still really bummed by the departure of Cordelia. Although Spike is a good "replacement", nobody is able to ground the Scooby gang with a cutting remark like Cordelia was...
