  1. Was it super cheesy for Rocker to say “Hulk not know his own strength?”  Yes.

Did I love it anyways?  Also yes.

Also those jeans looked fantastic on Powell.

  2. I’m not saying this just because of Notre Dame, but the playoffs building in that conference champions are guaranteed seeds one through four is ludicrous.

  3. I would have to be paid handsomely to willingly watch the NBA All-Star game, and yet I still find it awesome that the East won.

  4. Rick Pitino sounds like such an asshole.  If you hate it so much, leave.

Public humiliation is NOT going to motivate your players, jerk.

  5. I lived in a small apartment over a garage in 2001.  The hubby was out and the three year old was at his grandparents, so I was chilling at home and turned on Daytona with only a few laps to go.

I saw the crash, and will never forget how surreal it was listening to DW excited for his brother, and in shock at what happened to Dale. I ran to the computer and refreshed CNN for hours until the awful truth was released.

Rusty Wallace was my guy, so I had vitriol for Dale for decades, but I’m not heartless.  And even up here in Central New York Big E’s fandom was immense.

23 years is a long time, and also the blink of an eye.

  6. They wouldn’t have timed out because you could get an answer wrong, the whole trick is that you’d have to carry more weight.

Corey did say on Twitter that it was crap that Nurys and Colleen had to carry those heavy boxes and they should have been more equitable per each challengers ability.

I think Corey had to drag all of the orange ropes with him until he made it back to the circle.  And if the time they showed was correct, even if he didn’t drop one they weren’t going to finish in time.

Corey gets no props for throwing Jay in.  Little late to complain about how he was running the game, pal.

  7. If dynasties were going to be assigned to the Super Bowl era would it be

    Sixties Packers
    Seventies Steelers
    Eighties Niners
    Nineties Cowboys

And then do the Patriots get the Oughts *and* the Tens?  And now the Chiefs already get the Twenties?

  8. Looking back on it, it’s amusing (to me anyways) that at several different times Cam fired Hodgins, Daisy, Finn, Wendell and Rodolfo, but none of them stayed fired.

  9. To be honest, my bellyaching was about NE vs. KC.  I had completely forgotten that the team the Bucs beat was the Chiefs.  But I appreciate your thorough comparison!

  10. The 49ers coming out and admitting that they, too, did not know the overtime rules reflects poorly on the coaching staff.

He's also behind (forever so, in the minds of some) because he lost to Brady and the Bucs in the Super Bowl.   And it's not like he had a masterful performance either.

Ugh.  That Super Bowl sucked and Mahomes lost like all his offensive linemen and then some.

  12. Patrick Mahomes getting labeled as not being able to beat the Patriots when Brady was there is annoying, because, and I know this is only one game, the defense was entirely responsible for that one loss at Arrowhead.  Brady was intercepted!  And it was called back!  Nothing to do with Patrick!

  13. Now that this Super Bowl is over, what was your *first*?

I know we got a new TV (with a remote!  It had six buttons on it!) for Super Bowl XIX but I don’t recall the game.

XX, however, I do remember.  Jim McMahon and his headband made coverage even in Central New York, and the “Super Bowl Shuffle” was EVERYWHERE.  At twelve years old I knew enough to be mad at Mike Ditka for giving the ball to Fridge and not Sweetness.

  14. I was very confused about the end of OT.  I thought it was 15 minutes and then if you didn’t score when the clock expired that was that, but apparently since it was the Chiefs first possession in OT, if they didn’t score, they would keep the ball until they were out of downs?  Romo, shockingly, did a shit job of explaining that.

It is amusing how Moody kicked the longest field goal in Super Bowl history, and the record stood for about an hour.

My bad! I didn’t know in the playoffs the rules changed. Is that because of the Bills/KC matchup?

    Yep.

Taylor hugged all over Travis when he was sweaty and grassy and gross.  That’s love, baby.
