  1. While I am certainly sympathetic to anyone with Post Babe is Love Stress Disorder, I do think Brooklyn is the one being irrational here. Lulu dislikes and distrusts BLQ for understandable reasons. But she is not blackmailing her with this information or spending all her time needling her. She thinks it was unfair to keep the info from Dante, which is a valid opinion. Should Lulu have this info? No. But she didn't seek it out. Once she knew it, she couldn't unsee it. And since it impacts both Dante and Rocco, she told BLQ that Dante should be told. I think that's fair. But she has not told Dante because that is not her place. The one behaving irrationally is BLQ. That ultimatum to Maxie is way out of line. Too many people know at this point -- most of whom were told by BLQ and Lois, not Lulu. She needs to bite the bullet and go to Dante. Lulu is not forcing her hand here, the sheer number of people in the know and the weight of the secret is. And for the record, I like Lulu in the reporter role. Is it an accurate portrayal of the journalistic profession? No. But neither is Isaiah running tox screens or Sonny being a gangster who doesn't deal in drugs, guns or prostitution. And I have to echo the sentiment that Gio is way too passive here. He's a pawn in the story with no agency. And my guess is that Rocco is going to need something medical and that's how it comes out. That's bog standard soap. But other than Gio being upset to never know he was adopted, the people responsible for that are dead so where is the drama ? Compare that to the drama around Sam's parentage, or Carly's or even Lucas's. At least give us an ELQ story where he becomes the tiebreaker vote. Instead he's an affable guy with no hard edges so this will all be a shrug in the long run.
  2. So someone finally bought and remodeled the Spencer home? Because it sat derelict for 50 years so Luke could have a dramatic scene there during his exit story. One of Ron's weirdest quirks, where all the important places in Luke and Laura's lives (Spencer home, the Diner, the freaking Campus Disco) had been left untouched for decades so there could be a scene there in the future.
  3. I'm shocked moss has lasted this long without a story where we find out it was the secret child of one of Aunt Ruby's houseplants or something.
  4. Good. While he has lifted right out these past couple months, he should be a load-bearing part of the canvas and I'm not sure he will every feel as important as he should with Duell in the role.
  5. We've got two major paternity reveals out there, one involving Jason and Carly's kid, it is 100% time for Robin to come back for the Nurse's Ball!
  6. @statsgirl I think we have to concede defeat on the begging the question thing. It's become common usage. I feel your pain because it grates on me too. I'm a day late but I didn't hate the anniversary show. It's the 62nd not the 60th or 65th so a one day special event didn't bother me. And like it or not, Sonny is the patriarch of the show at this point so the prominent placement makes sense. I'm just glad Laura was positioned as matriarch instead of Carly. I hope they are waiting to write in Monica's death until they can do it properly - they may want to include some folks like maybe Amber Tamblyn or Stuart Damon's family. And I hope whatever they write has a real impact on the canvas and the story. That is the best way to pay tribute to a major character like Monica. (I still want her last act to be signing an affidavit that she witnessed Sonny kill Jagger from her window.)
  7. I think that was with Campbell's. Suddenly a bunch of folks started talking about the "GoRed Ball" like those were words that had meaning together. I think it was just AMC and/or OLTL that did that. But I don't remember if anything exciting happened during the actual event. There were some shenanigans about dresses or dates. Maybe David spiked the punch on AMC or was that another event. And it may have been tied to one of Viki's heart attacks? Anyway not very memorable but Campbell's footed the bill for some of it at least.
  8. Maxie is kinda turning into the matriarch of the show. She's everyone's talk to and truth-teller. I actually love this for her and the show.
  9. He's pretty much the Ted McGinley of daytime. But I love always liked him as well. Wonder who he is intended for. Maybe Nina?
  10. I think he was filming it or just wrapped when he passed. They have been sitting on it a while. Most of those Marvel shows have long post production for effects and whatnot but I do think Daredevil had a longer one than most.
  11. This Drew crusade really is moronic. He wants to disinter Edward and Lila (and Alan, AJ, Emily, Justus - did they bury Bradley there, I can't remember.) How would he sell that to his constituents? "I want to dig up that nice old lady from the relish jar because her daughter got mad at me for sleeping with my nephew's wife in our children's nursery like ONE time?" I mean I have seen some districts elect some real yahoos, from both parties...historically. But they are usually promising something or at least sharing their voters anger about something, real or imaginary. Ain't nobody anywhere getting on board with a guy whose signature achievement is digging up basically a saint and the child of a civil rights hero. And even if those people exist, they would probably think his other signature issue, the Espanade, sounds foreign and would not support it. We definitely seem to be building to a whodunnit which in true soap fashion will be a whocareswhodunnit because the victim has been made so odious that no one is sad he died. The really great mysteries are about people who we cared died. Harlan Thromby was a cool dude, Lily Kane was awesome, True Detective is usually about some great evil who has to be stopped. These are stories with stakes where we empathize with the victim(s). If everyone, including the audience, hates the character, everything else is hollow. The only person I will be mad at is Frank because come on, the dude's house just burned down.
  12. So Noted Bigot Natalia is maybe getting another queer kid? To what purpose? That said, I am down for Lucas getting a new love interest. I don't buy him ever truly forgiving Brad. But even if that does end up being endgame, the idea of an actual gay love triangle does make me happy. But this show, called General Hospital, now I think has literally more contact lawyers than doctors with this guy, Alexis, Ric, Martin and Diane plus Molly and the new DA. Only contract docs I can think of are Portia, Lucas and Isaiah (plus Terri and TJ on very light recurring and Kevin who is barely on and rarely doctors) add in Liz and Willow as nurses and that's only 5 medical workers on contract. I think Martin and Diane are recurring but heavily so. Now, with the exception of the one character whose name I couldn't arsed to remember or look up, I like all of those lawyer characters (yes, even Diane) but still, this doctor show may be a little unbalanced. I mean Grey's doesn't even make folks regulars unless they are actual surgeons. I'm not expecting that. But how many contracts and legal cases can these people have? I know it hasn't really been a doctor show since Steve Hardy died. But you know, it is called GENERAL HOSPITAL for chrissakes. Am I still cranky that now I can never have my story where Lucky's absence is explained by him being in medical school and not telling anyone for fear of failure who comes back married to do-gooder Serena Baldwin - who Liz hates for Franco reasons - who he met while working an internship with Doctors without Borders, making Scott and Lucy Laura's in-laws and positioning Lucky to fill the too-long empty shoes left by Steve Hardy both at GH and on GH? No, not at all, why do you ask?
  13. Wasn't Cop Lucky also a part of the Kiefer stuff back in the day? He and Kristina have known each other for a long time.
  14. Her first story was as the side piece of a serial killer so this is just her returning to the mean.
  15. I've only seen episode 1 but I'm in. Really enjoying the subversion of tropes (it's the token white couple who are almost purposely boring.) But it is fascinating to see so much exposition. And at least in the first ep the act outs are pretty tame. Once the relationships are more established I'm sure we'll get some soapier shots going to commercial. Karla Mosley is the standout to me. This may only make sense to DS9 fans but she's got them Gowron eyes and I am living for it.
  16. All I can say is I hope Easton is getting residuals every time we have to hear about Finn's sperm.
  17. Joss broke into the cabin and shot Cyrus. It looks pre-meditated. And one of her childhood traumas was her brother going to prison for killing someone in self defense. I buy her going along with a cover up. I'm not necessarily entertained by this Joss story but I am curious where it is going. Anyone else getting Rod Serling vibes every time Chris McKenna talks. Something about his cadence.
  18. I was thinking more that fake Drew was not getting the story right. But the is context I didn't have. With Sam gone there is a lot less reason to bring that character back.
  19. Is it possible that all the posturing from Drew about his poor childhood is a tell that he's not actually Drew and the spec that he's really Shiloh was spot on? Not that I want that and I don't think the writers are that clever but it would at least explain the heel turn.
  20. Jeff Kober did a long exit interview with SOD. He flew to India for a month the day after he taped his last scenes. Maybe explains the temp Lucky since they couldn't postpone all the Cyrus stuff. https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/gh-exclusive-jeff-kober-has-nothing-but-gratitude-as-he-says-good-bye-to-cyrus/
  21. Since these were probably Jeff Kober's last days filming that may explain the temp Lucky. Hard to reschedule if one of the actors is already off the show.
  22. When was the last time this show did anything genuinely surprising? Even the one recent shock - the bomb at the penthouse- was spoiled by the promo team when they dropped the clip early. Gio, Natalia/Sidwell, Cyrus were all telegraphed or guessed months ahead of time. It's giving incompetence.
  23. So, apparently Brick is running for president. Probably shouldn't get into it here but I hope it at least prevents him from popping up to perv on Jordan.
  24. I'm sure Lois gets a cut of Miguel's Spotify earnings. Or they used one of Eddie Maine's songs in like a truck commercial or something. This whole Gio story has been such a waste of time. There is no suspense and as I said before outside of Dante being in the dark and having some feelings there everyone likes Gio, he has good relationships with everyone and this is an inconsequential change to the canvas. Compare this to say Carly's intro or even Alexis/Sam. There is no drama here except maybe some momentary butt hurt. Meh. MEH I say!
