So true. I'd much rather see someone own their gummy smile or receding hairline.
[I went to a department store makeup counter once to buy something. I was invited back for advice on my eyebrows. I walked away wondering what the hell is wrong with my eyebrows?!]

Sherri guested on Friends and was in a scene with coincidentally Matt LeBlanc and she actually made me laugh.
Sherri does well when she is playing a role. It's when she is herself I find her bothersome.
That's one of my favorite scenes. "I gave you my Snack Pack!" There's a security woman at my local arena that reminds me of Rhonda, except her blazer is gray.

I agree on Bev's sexed-up senior years, but I was a bit turned off my the Gonorrhea thing. I wish they would've just kicked her out of the retirement home "for being too disruptive to the peace and tranquility promised to the residents" or something like that.
AARP says it's a thing, though: https://www.aarp.org/health/conditions-treatments/info-2017/std-exposure-rises-older-adults-fd.html

I found it very odd that Lucille went to Dr Turner (seemingly first) about Eunice and not one of the older midwives, preferably Sister Julienne. Midwives would have been more likely than a GP to have seen it before. The woman had been traumatized and very probably physically damaged by a doctor. And as we saw while she was giving birth, he knew enough to stay away from her.
I kept thinking that we'd seen a woman afraid to give birth in earlier seasons. She ran away? Or am I thinking of the woman who knew she'd give birth to a biracial baby? I remember a young woman running away, though. hmmm...
Dr Turner seems to be showing up a lot more than he did in earlier seasons. I don't like it, or the actor, or his furrowed "concern" brow.

It was subtle, but she was enjoying the sights and smiling happily. Cataracts had literally dimmed her world, so I think they went with her joy of seeing all the nice bright colors. I, for one, am just as happy we didn't see surgery and recovery.
I kept looking at her eyes. They didn't look like she had cataracts. And certainly not enough that she couldn't identify roses. I guess putting clouded contact lenses in her eyes wasn't an option.

I find it annoying that so many of these beach, islands and whatever shows wind up with the Hunters turning down every option they've been shown and at the end you see the couple saying things like "We haven't found our dream place yet". Why even tape these people if they can't find a property? Even during the updates at the end, they still didn't find anything.
Don't ever watch Escape to the Country then! [Actually, I loved the show, and everyone who likes house porn should watch.] It took me forever to get used to it.

I really enjoyed this. BUT, I kept wondering why they don't just get a carer in for the woman with dementia/alzheimer's/whatever's going on with her. Wouldn't that be the compromise between them living alone and having to leave their home.
I'm looking forward to the next episode. Looks like the excrement is going to hit the air circulation device.

The polygamy story line didn't bother me, other than her being 15. The clunky writing did, especially dialogue that sounded like it was written by someone who's never actually heard people speak.
Also, I'm so over Dr Turner and his furrowed brow and condescending concerned voice.

He's been on the cover of multiple issues of Entertainment Weekly and TV Guide so many people do in fact know him.
I'd never heard of him or seen him either. I didn't see covers of Entertainment Weekly OR TV Guide. May people may "in fact know him" but plenty obviously do not. I didn't care for the actor in the role. He neither looked nor carried himself like Philip--with his big nose and play doh face. [imo and all that]

I remember reading in one of Meghan's Daily Beast articles how her being involved in republican politics gives her a connection to her dad like her brothers military service gives them a connection. I think Meghan is conflicted she wants to speak out like her dad on certain issues and continue the legacy however at the same time she is trying to constantly prove herself to conservatives how "conservative she is". I would love to know her thoughts on a proposal similar to Manchin-Toomey since her dad did vote in favor it and one of the few moments McCain lived up to his "Maverick" reputation during the Obama years.
I wonder why Meghan didn't join the military. She, too, could've connected with her father in that way.

Like, I'm trying to understand the thought process behind this. Are they convinced that Jana will never get any Valentine flowers from other men? Are they trying to comfort her? Are they taking the piss? Are they showing their appreciation for her role as sister mom? Support for her single status? Because by the looks of it they actually got together and planned this, so there's got to be some kind of thought behind it.
And Jana looks as ambivalent as I feel about the whole thing. Because that is one massive bouquet of roses. That she just got. From her brothers.
These people are weird.
I think it's because they can't get away with giving her flowers on Mother's Day.

How does one workout on a treadmill and type email responses??? I mean when I think treadmill, I think walking fast or jogging or running, I can't imagine typing too. Maybe I'm just super uncoordinated.
There are treadmill desks. A neighbor has one with a big Apple monitor on the desk. I don't think I'd be able to read the screen. I don't walk smoothly enough, I guess.

Re: Military couple, Sasha and Ronelle: I have never been to this HH forum, but purposely sought it out to vent about the above recent episode. So glad a few others had to post about that wife too. I was so disgusted and aghast at her ! She gives new meaning to narcissism. And those two lovely daughters, just tagging behind Sasha & Ronelle while they were filmed shopping and making more clothes purchases for Sasha at what appeared in a high end clothing boutique in that Netherlands' town. No focus on the girls at all. They were like appendages. The wife, Sasha says "I don't care about a budget". "Its what I want, no compromise. " So they end up choosing the most expensive house, above budget because she needs "5-6 bedrooms" !
While she was very pretty, and even allowing for some production editing to make 'a story theme " about them (i.e. her personal clothing /shopping excesses). There was something eerily cunning, manipulative, and uncomfortably sly, even evil about her. Yes I know that's a strong word, but I cant quite nail it. Her glare at the camera, her glare at him, the detached interaction with the daughters. Then the last scene shows her lounging by the pool drinking wine, while husband Ronelle mows the lawn. And we see the one bedroom converted into a dressing room/closet for all her mega collection of tacky clothing. Mind you all that stuff had to be shipped from the U.S. to Europe , on a limited military employee salary (low rank at this point, I assume due to his young age, thus a lower salary and budget).
Yes, I found her Facebook page too. Many vanity pictures just about her. Not her daughters, her husband, or much else. Frightening.
Military takes care of having it packed up and moved. You're entitled to so many thousands of pounds, depending on rank. Vehicle is also transported. https://www.move.mil/entitlements

I've been marathoning the 3 seasons they have on Hulu and have questions:
They only ever show them renovating the main rooms and the master bedroom and bath. What about the kids rooms or other rooms? I assume they do them too or do they just leave them for someone else?
If they have extra money to give them 3 options, why don't they use that when the inevitable problem with flooring, electrical or whatever comes up? Or is that from a separate fund?
Exactly! I guess there wouldn't be any "drama" then, though. I haven't watched in a while but it seems they spend every single cent. The Magnolia crap is just for the reveal, right?

"B..but I luurve him!" No smart woman throws her future away because they love some dude. She wasn't smart she was just a suck up.
Plenty of smart women do. Ambitious women don't. Maybe.
I think Darlene was smart early in the show. She just wasn't motivated. Like anna0852 said, once she found her passion she went for it. I don't think there was a retcon for Darlene.

The misspelling is developmentally appropriate for a 6 year old. The words are spelled phonetically, and that's fine. It's the mislabeling that bugs me. It's Jessa saying he named the shapes correctly. Spurgeon isn't reading the words. He's naming the shapes.

Why the hell should they care what people do with the houses after they've been on the show? If anything, they should be proud that they've added value.

The spelling is less concerning than the mislabeling of shapes. Oh, and Jessa's "good job." I would have expected her to fix either the labels or the shapes. Or does she not realize?
I taught K-4. Shit like that bugs. It's a whole lot easier to teach than to unteach.

Just watched the BBC version of The Coronation on Youtube. My favorite part was when the guy asks that the Imperial State Crown be moved closer to the Queen. Curator in white gloves moves it about half an inch closer. The Queen just grabs it with her bare hands and plants it in front of her laughing "this is what I do with it when they give it to me." I am sure Mr. White Gloves was having a heart attack but who is going to tell the Queen she can't do that?
But she can. She's one of the couple (maybe 3? Queen, jeweler, and __?)of people who's allowed to touch it.
I was disappointed in the special. I think it was a case of already seeing the Queen's segments before watching.
