I know, I was like - amateur... call me when you can take like 10-15 a day.

It's generally the assumption of professionals that whatever an addict admits he/she is using, the real amount is significantly more.  So when Shay says he was using 5-6 per day, I would assume that maybe on his very best days he was only using 5-6, but on average days he was probably using closer to double that amount, and on bad days, even more.

  2. I found it disturbing that there was such a pile-on on Kristen, while nothing was directed at James.  If there's a sociopath in the group, it's James.  I felt like Andy's misogyny influenced the decision to go after Kristen while leaving James's awfulness untouched.

that said, maybe in part 2 or 3 they'll go after James.  He's awful, and if he doesn't face some sort of comeuppance, it just further confirms (1) that Lisa orchestrates some of the scripting (since she's a James supporter but hates Kristen) and (2) that Andy's a misogynist.

  3. I have no idea if this is true but according to reddit the show folded when Yo refused to film with the other ladies.

I thought the whole show was about Yolanda and her marriage to David, akin to the Tamra OC Wedding-type spinoff shows Bravo does once in a while.

(edited)... well, nope, I was wrong... just checked out one of the videos of it on Youtube, and sho nuff, it was its own full-on cast of Dutch Housewives in Hollywood.  Super cheap looking production values.  And Yo's whole story line looks to have been the David Foster wedding thing.

  4. I checked out Sonja's clothing site, and it looks like they must be winding it down.  They never added new product to the rather limited offerings in the original line (maybe a couple bathing suits, or some of the jewelry, but most of it is the same clothing offered a year ago), and at this point, about half of it is marked "sold out."  The rest of the clothes are on sale for half off.

  5. I thought Gigi had a pretty great personality and seemed rather smart, based on her appearances on RHOBH.  Talk shows aren't everyone's forte.

I also think Yolanda's problems stem from some sort of mental/ emotional illness, not something physical.  That said, it kind of troubles me how much everyone criticizes her.  It seems rather merciless.  She's messed up, yes, it's pretty lame how her insecurity plays as superiority, she's a sad and lonely woman.  But after we've identified that she's messed up, why do we love to keep picking at her and hating on her?  You know, who isn't a little messed up, after all?  Why do we get off on picking her apart?  Seems like a weird kind of emotional blood sport.   Which I partly get, have definitely participated in, but now I'm questioning it.

  6. It's so interesting to watch Yolanda.  I think she either somatizes, or she has Munchausen.  I think she's actually depressed-- she's been complaining for years that her "friends" weren't really friends, her marriage has failed, she has issues she doesn't know how to resolved and is overwhelmed by.  It's all coming out as "lyme-brain" and exhaustion, and she's found quacks who will give it a physical diagnosis.

If she didn't bring her kids into it, I'd be intrigued but not repulsed.  But she clearly feels the need to believe that her children-- the non-Gigi's-- suffer as she does.  She has Lyme; they have Lyme.  She has silicone implant leakage; she says she thinks the non-Gigi's may have suffered from it since they breast fed from her leaking boobies.

So that's what Munchausen's by proxy looks like.  So interesting.  Yolanda doesn't know she's doing it, but you can see it from the outside.  I always imagined Munchausen's as being more black and white-- a nefarious mother purposely poisoning her kids.  It seems it can be much subtler.

Anyhow, it's extremely frustrating to watch, especially knowing she's dragged her kids into it.  And the kids feel compelled to believe her and since it's their own mommy telling them they're sick, they're going to believe it, sad as it is.  Otherwise they risk Yolanda's rejection.

Anyhow, it's all extremely deep and complicated.

  7. One thing about Erika, though, is that I'm going to need her to get her bio info correct. In her bio, it says that she is 29. But on the show, she says that she is 44. I can see pushing her age back a few years so she can have a career as an entertainer, but it's quite a stretch to say you're 15 years younger than you actually are.

LOL they started lying about her age too late.  Her husband gave an interview last summer, and the article discloses her true age as 46.  The "29" is from Wikipedia, obviously that number is self-reported/ she paid for someone to edit Wikipedia thusly.  I say the "44" was an attempt to concoct a more believable, but still false, younger age.  She's been married to Tom Girardi for 15 years.

Clearly, she's put a lot of money into plastic everything.  Someone upthread said they liked how she shows herself naturally (without makeup).  Ain't nothing natural about how that woman looks, but she's had believable work done and it looks good on her.  I think even her hair is enhanced/ weaved/ etc.

  8. Andy decide to engage Gloria Steinem in a RH discussion.  His mistake is he gives the fakest description of the show ever and she calls him on it.  http://www.bravotv.com/watch-what-happens-live/the-after-show  All I could think of is what show was he describing where the theme was the strong friendships between these women.

that was awesome.  She totally schooled him, and it exposed everything that's evil about Andy, and ugly about what the HW shows have become.  (I feel like the first 2-3 seasons of RHOC were so much less awful and more enjoyable-- you just saw the ladies with their families, children, and lives.  Fighting was not the point of the show.  Then I think the production companies changed ... or something.. and Andy took the helm, upon which all the RH shows became a la Jerry Springer.)

I think Andy has major conflicts about women (obvs starting with his mother), and he's obsessed with working out his issues with them by portraying the worst in them-- middle aged women as superficial, pathetic arm-pieces who are bitterly catty toward their so-called friends.

  9. Totally agree with you.  I remember thinking that it was very telling when she said in a talking head that her disliking Brooks was a way to get back at her mom and say, "you're not perfect, either."

Agree, and she does it on the show because her mom doesn't listen to her otherwise.

  10. According to the Real Mr. Housewife Donn won't be joining Vicki for Thanksgiving.  Does that mean Vicki lied?

Oh, I'm sure she was just confused, she was out of town, Donn must have used eye drops to make it look like he was hungry for Thanksgiving, did she say she was having Thanksgiving with Donn?  She meant she was thankful for Donn giving her thanks for a giving tree... she was confused... Donn's mouth said no but his eyes said yes, pass the potatoes...

She's CRAZY and at this point I think in addition to having NPD (narcissistic personality disorder), she's a pathological liar.

  11. I feel like Bethenny is on the verge of ruining RHONY.  Her nasty comments about HWs being expendable (comments she's making cause she's pissed that they're trying to get better pay, and she doesn't think Ramona/Luann/Sonja should command Bethenny-level salaries), her need to have her ass kissed, she's bringing the fake and is only going to get along with HWs who bow down and play her games.  It seems destined to ruin the show (if it hasn't been ruined already).  She can't seem to sustain a good thing.

  12. Oh, and Bravo doesn't care if the public likes Vicki.  Bravo cares about keeping its numbers up.  If people watch because they like Vicki, if people watch because they hate Vicki, it's all the same to Bravo.  Bravo rotates who gets the "good" and "bitch" edits because it keeps Bravo in control of the HWs, it makes the HWs bow down to the Bravo powers-that-be (think the famous rat study with the randomly emitted sugar pellets, random intermittent reinforcement is the strongest reinforcer).  Now, what Bravo is doing, is making sure Vicki doesn't quit the show.  Because for whatever reason, people tune in (or have been tuning in) to watch the Vicki shit show.

So now, Bravo is essentially filling Vicki's "love" tank.  (Witness:  Vicki talks about how Bravo sent flowers when her mother passed, so did the HWs, and she put all those flowers around her mother's casket, for goodness' sakes.)  Bravo needs to keep Vicki roped in enough that she doesn't quit.  The sane, healthy thing to do would be to quit the show.  But Vicki ain't either of those things.

Fame must feel wicked good for what these people seem willing to do, and sacrifice, to keep that fame high going.

  13. I don't think Vicki will ever walk away from the money.    I always wondered what made Brooks so damn special that she would take this type of risk for him?  Surely, there are plenty of gigolos out there that are better looking and do not pretend to have cancer.

Brooks was so damned special because he's such a great manipulator/ he's really desperate for material support, so he really services her-- all that Hallmark crap, affirming Vicki.  He was her perfect gigolo.  She ate that up.  A non-paid escort won't act so fake.  Vicki doesn't deal in reality, she's a narcissist and needs constant adulation, even if it's fake.  She don't know the difference, and even if she did, she don't care.
