Does anyone watch Shakespeare & Hathaway? I love a light mystery series!

Yes. I find it amusing. Easy to watch but the plots are silly. The behavior of the lead male, Hathaway is quite ridiculous. But still ok to watch. Just glad our PBS channels have gotten some new programs to show. Also the translated from Italian Thou shalt not Kill. It’s pretty good

  2. At least when Joe rants he rolls. She stumbled through that TelePrompTer so unrehearsed. However whoever wrote that was indeed feeling the girl power and drove home a great point. Damaged by the delivery.

Mikas lips look a little overinflated today.

  3. Regarding self checkout lanes: I don’t use them. Maybe if I get an employee discount I would.

Back to the show- I don’t know what it is but whatever they say today I.e., “we’ll be right back with more of our coverage of this historic moment” sounds like it’s all about them. I don’t know why.

This is my longest standing gripe with the show.  She is completely unprepared to engage.  She doesn't have the merest handle on topics to offer a rejoinder or amplify a point, or even gab.  She says, "uh.  thanks.  We'll be right back."

She likes to say “ Name of Guest, thank you VERY much. We’ll be right back”

heavy emphasis on the very is her value add to the show

  5. I just saw the episode where the lady didn’t know anything about the finances and was angry right off the bat. I call producer shenanigans.

She knows what show she’s going on, she knows the plot is for him to get angry about how they running the restaurant. I believe she was told say you know nothing about the finances, get angry back at him all the time. He’ll take you boxing to teach you another way to express anger, fix you and the restaurant.

    Definitely scripted plot.

  6. Show is terrible today. Watched a few minutes. Mika can’t read. Andrea Mitchell was on. Seemed very random. Joe asked her a multi minute question “where are the Republicans?” Andrea went off asking where are the Reagan eupblicans, the George Bush Republicans, the Colin Powell Republicans, ending w a Party of Lincoln reference

    this show is pointless

Tom Friedman should have been on.  As a favorite son he is still very connected here in Minneapolis (in fact we grew up together).  He should school M, J and panel on the facts.

Friedman was on CNN this morning. Guess he didn’t want to be on Morning Joke.

I saw the discussion of Thomas Friedman's recent column "Trump's Going to Get Re-elected, Isn't He?" I know this is a nit, but Mika said it (twice, I think) as "Isn't HE?" instead of "ISn't He?" She also said "moderate Republications" as though it were the verb (MOD-er-ate) instead of the adjective (in a list of people Trump might be alienating).

I don't know why these little flubs bug me so much. OK, maybe I do. Her main function on the show seems to be reading from the teleprompter.

    Be better, Mika.

I was driven a little insane by her reading of this headline. It was wrong and changed the meaning from people are desperately begging the Democratic Party to get it together to defeat Trump ....to people are begging Friedman for reinforcement to their belief Trump will win again

What a surprise Friedman wasn’t on. He may have been scheduled but when he heard her reading the headline he was like umm never mind gotta go.

Anyway Mika sounds particularly stoned this morning.

Can't get rid of the quote thing (not sure how it appeared!) but no matter...

On the official PW Facebook page - I admit to looking at it if very bored - there's a buncha photos of Ree with visitors in the Merc on 4th July.  Her tunic top is a tad ill-advised and not exactly flattering, to my non-fashionista way of thinking. (sweet looking little girl, tho!)

That forehead and eye area is so Botoxed she couldn’t smile w her eyes if she got a free lifetime supply of sprinkles, jalapeños, mini marshmallows and rubber snakes.

I am one that does not mind enhanced S'mores. I admit to using peanut butter cups, Hershey Symphony bars with the toffee bites in them, Nutella, various Ghirardelli chocolate squares (mainly the caramel) and other chocolate options in my S'mors.

Yeah ok, but all at once?

Would it kill you, Joe, if you pledged to give your own money to help the kids?

Mika sat by with a smug expression nodding her head while do gooder Joe promised to fund raise.

I noted that he kept saying he “WOULD” do a fundraiser to get soap to the kids, he “would” do this or that for them....

He would, if what? If he were still in Congress. That’s stupid then he COULD influence the legislation.  Fundraisers are what private citizens do.

He would, if what, he were a completely different person?

  12. If anyone watched season 9 episode 3 Cold River.... at the end Vera comes out of a business, Aiden is waiting outside. She’s asks

if he likes it what he sees. He’s says he doesn’t know what he’s looking at. She says perfect. What was that? What business was she in?

Later, alone, she pulled a card ofsome type out of her bra? What was that?

  13. Omgod Joe says DTrump believes in nothing but whatever is in vogue. Eddie Glaud says ok then lays out a case that horrid level racism is a core belief of DT and Joes reply is “Doesn’t matter doesn’t matter!!” He’s not racist he told me that! He just plays one on tv and DT once admitted to me that it works for him and that’s even worse!

he literally replied to Glaudes articulate impassioned points on rascism by saying “doesn’t matter! Doesn’t matter!” And it went downhill from there

    what an absolute ass

  14. I’ve watched many many episodes w my daughter throughout her teen years. We just rewatched the insanity that is the Sword of Guillame and decided it is the quintessential MM episode. It has everything!

shady land deal, ancient ancestors, imperious titled family, beheadings, priest, anonymous letters, blocked walking path, Barnaby getting hit on by town sexy woman, bus trip to the sea, absolutely bizarre motive, town council meetings and Jones on a tear the entire episode! All because his lunch was interrupted! He does his best work hangry!!
