Nadia: The Next Erin Lindsay

Since it seems fairly reasonable to think that Nadia will become a regular or at least semi-regular character, given that Erin has taken her into her home (and there was a bit of hinting that Intelligence has a job opening and Nadia needs a job, I thought she deserved her own thread...)

What do you like or not like about the character? Do you agree with Erin's decision to get involved in "saving" her?

I like her - I am hesitant about trusting her, but she's trying. I like that Erin is trying to pay it forward and I think she will serve as a good "sister" character (assuming we never see the best friend again). She can stay!

Honestly I think she's too young. Is she even 18 in it yet? I vaguely remember it being implied she was no older then that anyway. I don't think the cast needed an additional character much less one that's years younger. Just because her initial storyline worked well doesn't mean she'll translate as a full time character. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I like how Erin's trying to pay it forward. However, I'm concerned about Nadia being a permanent addition to the cast this season. Especially given a video I saw with the actress describing the writers' plans for Nadia this season. I feel like Nadia may be the first really false note they're going to hit with a main character.

And honestly, I don't really care about Nadia other than how she allows Erin to pay it forward and be a bit of a vehicle for Erin to deal with her past demons. Nadia is barely 18, she wasn't even 18 when she first appeared on the show, yet she's now got full access to upstairs? It may be mean but I really don't care. I was perfectly fine with her as a here-there recurring character for the purposes of developing Erin. But that's about it. There are enough characters that struggle for airtime and development that I'd rather see get story/airtime way before Nadia.

Agreed. I like Nadia and love the relationship between her and Erin but that's it. I've no interest in dealing with Erin 2.0 when there's still so much to learn about Erin 1.0. I don't mind her in the sidelines if she's advancing the plot. Hell if they must even give her a little crossover romance with Mills or Otis but that's all I'm interested in. She's not a cop, she's barely out of rehab and she's just a kid or so we were thought to believe last season which brings me to my next point....

How old are we meant to think that she is? Last season it was a teenager, this season I've a feeling they might retcon it. Erin's line to Jay about not hitting on her would be random as hell given we were supposed to think she's at least ten years younger then him. I can't imagine Erin even bringing it up unless it was a legitimate possibility. Jay's not a creep nor does Erin think he is so I'm wondering if we are no supposed to think Nadia is older. To be fair to Jay, he looked pretty taken aback that Erin would think he'd do that so I don't know....
