Drogo February 1, 2018 Share February 1, 2018 Rose McGowan, artist and activist, documents the work being done to spread her message of "bravery, art, joy and survival." Link to comment
SunnyBeBe February 1, 2018 Share February 1, 2018 Great. Thanks. I've only seen one episode, but, was rather intrigued. Rose has a very complicated life. I've been reading up on some things. I do worry about her state though. It seems like things are not as calm and peaceful as she may need. I don't know exactly what is going on, but, she appears to be quite distraught. Granted, she has been abused and targeted. I get that, but, I wonder if she's getting the care she needs. And if airing these personal scenes are wise. 2 Link to comment
Spartan Girl February 2, 2018 Share February 2, 2018 (edited) I don't always agree with Rose, but two moments from this show stuck with me: * When she said how after the rape, Hollywood started marketing her off in the bad guy sex kitten roles. That kind of typecasting must have felt like adding insult to injury. I can't help but think of Eliza Dushku's recent revelation that she was molested by the True Lies stuntman, and how she too spent her career being typecast as bad girls. * The part where Rose was ranting about how Matt Lauer was supposedly feeling awful after being outed: "What about the girl you had locked in that room? How do you think SHE felt?!" Word. Edited February 3, 2018 by Spartan Girl 3 Link to comment
SunnyBeBe February 3, 2018 Share February 3, 2018 Perhaps, I need to watch the episode in its entirety, but, why was Rose targeted? I know that one lady said that abusers are able to spot those who are vulnerable, needy and desperate and those are the ones they prey on. Does anyone have a timeline of the abuse? Link to comment
Tanichka February 5, 2018 Share February 5, 2018 I watched a bit. She's hard to take because of her histrionics. One thing she talked about how movies are made though the eyes of men. They showed James Bond & Pretty Woman. I've always hated those moves. Totally sexist, male fantasies. 1 Link to comment
SunnyBeBe February 6, 2018 Share February 6, 2018 (edited) Rose really does seem to be a tortured soul, from what I saw. I guess that if I watch more, I will be able to determine if this is due to the sex abuse, her family dynamics or something else. I definitely got the feeling that things were very fragile. Like, should I really be watching this..... I don't care for anything Bond or Pretty Woman either. I never saw the appeal of Roberts in that movie. Just awful, imo. But, that's not a popular opinion. One thing that I find odd and possibly due to the direct control of men is the violence in tv commercials. I've never understood why there is so much violence, property destruction, explosions, assault and battery, etc. on tv that is supposed to be funny. It's quite common with everything from cars, trucks, phones, food, office supplies, etc. I don't get it and wonder if it's people with juvenile minds. I mean......it boggles the mind why companies pay big bucks for that kind of junk. Edited February 6, 2018 by SunnyBeBe 1 Link to comment

Spartan Girl February 14, 2018 Share February 14, 2018 (edited) I started reading Rose's book, Brave, and the description what of Weinstein did to her...I can't even think about it without feeling sick. I can't really blame Rose for being so messed up after that, even if I don't agree with her lashing out at everybody. Edited February 14, 2018 by Spartan Girl Link to comment
SunnyBeBe June 1, 2018 Share June 1, 2018 Did anyone see the episode last night of her returning to her birthplace in Italy? It was breathtaking. She shared thoughts on the arrest of Weinstein as well. It appears that she may have healed a bit. Plus, she's happy in a relationship and living in NY. It still concerns me though. She seems so fragile. Link to comment
