SnideAsides April 15, 2014 Share April 15, 2014 (edited) That World War I theme leg that lost the Emmy instantly springs to mind. Still. Generally, though, pretty much all of the legs they've been doing in recent seasons that are themed more around concepts than the location themselves are terrible. The one possible exception is the medieval-themed England leg from TAR17, but even then the fact that it's basically all in one place hurts it a lot. Kromm April 17, 2014 Author Share April 17, 2014 I've pointed out in the most recent episode thread that even this last leg was horribly unfairly designed. And possibly PURPOSEFULLY that way (an idea we haven't talked about--times when the show manipulates bunching and other elements to try and craft the race). Although what I think the producers intended to happen didn't. We had this strange arrangement two episodes ago (in what seemed to be a fairly badly designed leg) that led to the Country Singers coming last in a NEL. But then we had a flight out the next day that clearly was designed to put them all on the same footing. That would seem to favor the Country Singers, right? But THEN we had the funkiest Speed Bump ever. One with TWO cab rides through what looked like mid-day Rome traffic to accomplish. When most of the Speed Bumps I can recall are usually a few feet away from the Detours. I think that Speed Bump was specifically designed to eliminate whoever got the NEL, because normally you couldn't overcome the delay from those cab rides. The bunched flight was done not to help the NELed couple, but to make sure there was no sneaky multi-flight situation where some people could get on a possible delayed flight and others not. The actual Detour was not supposed to keep people there so long that it should outweigh that Speed Bump. That it did just speaks to how unpredictable these tasks can be. Link to comment
