Portia February 22, 2018 Share February 22, 2018 (edited) I thought you nerds might enjoy this little anecdote. I teach English as a Second Language at a university. During a Grammar lesson on modals today, I gave each student specific instructions to follow as they wrote a sentence to share with the class. The new girl, an extremely quiet young woman from South Korea, was supposed to choose an appropriate modal and use it to make a recommendation. She wrote this sentence: "You have got to watch Stranger Things. It is a very good TV show." I flipped out and told her she got an A for the day!
