whatsatool December 24, 2015 Share December 24, 2015 (edited) The late great Salon site Table Talk, had a Fluffy Books thread, that I sorely miss. I'm hoping this can be home to all fluffy book reviews. Edited December 24, 2015 by whatsatool Link to comment
Sandman87 December 24, 2015 Share December 24, 2015 Might be nice to explain what a "fluffy book" is. Link to comment
alias1 December 30, 2015 Share December 30, 2015 It will be interesting what people post here. I think any romance is a fluffy read. Sometimes, even feel good books are a fluffy read. A beach read, on the other hand, is something that is fast moving with an ok story line but no real literary substance. These are just my opinions, of course. My example of a beach read (which I am reading right now, even though I'm not on the beach) is The Monkey's Raincoat (Robert Crais) the first in the Elvis Cole Private Detective books. It's just a fun read with crisp, humorous dialogue. Nothing life changing. But I would post this in the What Are We Reading thread and say the same thing. Link to comment
NewDigs January 3, 2016 Share January 3, 2016 I think of a fluffy/beachy read as a kind of guilty pleasure. I guess I'd put cosies in there. Can be kind of touchy in a, one person's "fluff" is another's all-time favorite author, kind of way. 1 Link to comment
flaviafan February 24, 2016 Share February 24, 2016 I do read a lot of cozies and I guess I do consider them fluff but not all... I think I would put Louise Penny in fluff but yet her Armand Gamache novels are really not that fluffy (for lack of a better term). Leslie Meier, Joanne Fluke, Rhys Bowen, and Sue Grafton are just a few of my favorites for fluff........ Link to comment

Pretty dark, actually. I'm not sure I would put Sue Grafton into cozies either. That's where I agree with NewDigs that this category is difficult because "one person's "fluff" could be another persons favorite author. 1 Link to comment
