swimmyfish June 26, 2015 Share June 26, 2015 What does bother me about Alicia is how she keeps her kids away from Jackie. I get that Jackie is annoying, and has her own agenda. But she's their grandmother and, besides Alicia's brother, the only extended family Alicia's children seem to have. Jackie clearly loves her grandkids, plus she provided all that free child care while Peter was in prison. On my initial viewing, I think I was more pro-Alicia in regards to her cutting off Jackie, since Jackie always used her position to advocate for her son, for Alicia and Peter to reconcile. But, even with that, I think during their fight Alicia says something to Jackie like "But I am this way; your son has made me this way," which always rubbed me the wrong way. It's like, even when Alicia is taking charge of her destiny, she's still abdicating personal responsibility for her own actions. 1 Link to comment
