ElectricBoogaloo June 15, 2015 Share June 15, 2015 (edited) SEASON FINALE! Beirut's nightlife is infamous, the population beautiful, and its cuisine legendary. Tony meets up with freestyle artist Double A The Preecherman in the Mar Mikhael neighborhood, has a classic Lebanese meal with writer, publisher, and activist Joumana Haddad, and visits a Syrian community in southern Beirut with CNN correspondent Nick Paton Walsh. NowVoyager June 22, 2015 Share June 22, 2015 Wait. What?! I was just coming on here to complain that that episode sucked---where was the food?!?---only to find out it was the finale! Ugh!!! I watch this show to learn about people's cultures through their food. Not to see a refugee's foot half blown off, or a sick child's bloated stomach. Tony & the rest of the folks at CNN need to be ashamed of themselves. They should have had the decency to help that child get some medical care. Link to comment

biakbiak June 22, 2015 Share June 22, 2015 (edited) So Tony and Octavia only had sex once in a one to two week period? I do think he was changed after his experience having to flee Beirut, just like his divorce and meeting Octavia changed him, or spending a ton of time in Brazil because of her training or becoming BFF with a chef like Eric Ripert because he wrote Kitchen Confediotal changed him. It's one of the things I love about him, he changes because he lives but he is true to himself ( even when it's being a hipster southeast)! He might have had more life experiences than your average dude growing up in NJ, but he was never an average dude growing up in NJ. He spent his childhood.summers hanging in France, got into Vasser and then went to the CIA. Being a drug addict who was a cook on Natucket doesn't change the fact that he was born on third base but unlike others he realizes he didn't hit a grand slam when he landed safely at home. I would have been shocked and bewildered if the Beruit epic side was just more food porn. I thought the dad mentioning all the amazing food laid out before them "my son just wants a chicken burger from Buurger King," said so much. As did them leaving in the convo about suicide bombers while sittting next to his young son and says that he doesn't favor violence but he understands why it happens. It's important to remindef that even reasonable seeming can be blinded. As for the crew not helping out that child, even Tony on his coddled shows (or any one who has been fortunate to travel that is one amongst many, who decides or where is the line drawn.) to many children and people suffering to shame a show.
