Nadine February 5, 2015 Share February 5, 2015 I know there was Damian Westlake and Sophia, but am I forgetting someone else? I mean most people don't know anyone who turns out to be a killer, but it doesn't seem like that high a number for a TV character. The Irish mob guys from S1 and Vinnie the Scar? But Vinnie didn't kill anyone on screen at least. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/20980-s07e13-i-witness/page/2/#findComment-791213
KaveDweller February 5, 2015 Share February 5, 2015 Weren't the mob guys people he knew from book research? If he made connections with them because they were mafia-related, then it's not quite the same as having a friend who you think is just another regular person being a killer. Gotcha - my mistake thought you were referring across the board of people he knew. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/20980-s07e13-i-witness/page/2/#findComment-791408
verdana February 5, 2015 Share February 5, 2015 (edited) I know there was Damian Westlake and Sophia, but am I forgetting someone else? I mean most people don't know anyone who turns out to be a killer, but it doesn't seem like that high a number for a TV character. May be not for a TV character true it's hardly significant but if this was real life I'd be refusing any high school reunion invites and being wary about any "hey lets meet up" invites from old associates what with two murderers in the mix and one who ended up murdered. They all end up using Castle in some way and that's sad. He must have a set of decent set of old buddies and I'd like to have an episode where they meet and it turns into a positive experience instead of them ending up dead or in jail. I'd also like to see Beckett have another old friend show up so we could find out more about her early life. I liked Madison and she must have other pals. pepper February 5, 2015 Share February 5, 2015 But that's Espo for you. That's a pretty stupid thing to do considering it could ruin it for both couples, I know it's only a weekend away but why you would want to increase the chances of having a crappy time? I didn't think Espo was unreasonable. Somebody puts my images on the Internet and signs me up for match.com, all without my knowledge, I think I'd find that kind of manipulative, especially if they did it primarily for their convenience on a weekend away. So he picked someone who sounded a bit flaky but who I'd guess would be a good candidate for what Castle called crazy-people sex, if not necessarily the best choice for common-interests type dinner conversation. (And she may actually be a very sweet person.) It was played for laughs, so I was fine with all of it, but if we're going to analyze Espo's response as a serious character-driven decision, we have to do the same for Ryan and Jenny's actions, as well. And of the two, I'd have to say that Ryan and Jenny would come off worse. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/20980-s07e13-i-witness/page/2/#findComment-792935

(And she may actually be a very sweet person.) They were actually being kind of judgmental of the woman because she was a exotic dancer, right? There's no guarantee that she actually will ruin said weekend. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/20980-s07e13-i-witness/page/2/#findComment-794864
femmefan1946 February 6, 2015 Share February 6, 2015 Oh. I thought it was the slam poet part that indicated a certain level of crazy. Guess I run with the wrong crowd. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/20980-s07e13-i-witness/page/2/#findComment-795097

But either way it's a snap judgement. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/20980-s07e13-i-witness/page/2/#findComment-795224
pepper February 6, 2015 Share February 6, 2015 I doubt you'd be able to make any other kind of judgement on a dating site so I could forgive then that far easier than I could the whole responding-to-women-as-someone-else thing. But I don't want to give the wrong impression -IMO the cast did a great job and the subplot came across to me as funny rather than more creepy than intended, nor did I take issue with Esposito's 'revenge'. KaveDweller February 6, 2015 Share February 6, 2015 Yeah, if you go on a dating site you kind of have to accept that people will be making snap judgments. But usually it's the person doing that dating making the judgments and not their friends. But I agree with you that I liked those scenes and didn't have any issue with what Espo did. I don't even have a problem with Esposito having to do all the paperwork. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/20980-s07e13-i-witness/page/2/#findComment-798305
