Betweenyouandme January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 (edited) Hello. I'm watching A Little Princess. It, along with Secret Garden, have been two of my favorite movies ever. What are some fantasy type movies that are not epics that you all could recommend? I'd appreciate any help. I tend to like all fantasies alright but prefer ones where the characters don't have to go through some quest where there are violent battles (ie. Lion, witch, wardrobe...LOTR). I also really enjoyed A Wrinkle in Time, Alice in Wonderland, the Willy Wonka films, and Ever After. Pan's Labrynth and Hook are kind of on the iffy line but still liked them. I welcome any ideas that are children, family, or adult movies. Even a movie like Stoker is right down my alley. Thank you in advance. (I did see Into the Woods) Matilda and Nanny McPhee also work. Chrissytd January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 Stardust, The Princess Bride, The Adventures of Tintin, Hugo, Dark Shadows, The Spiderwick Chronicles If you don't mind reading subtitles, Studio Ghibli films are a good choice. 2 Link to comment

Betweenyouandme January 11, 2015 Author Share January 11, 2015 Oh great. I love it when there's also a book. I think that's the case for most fantasies that I've seen, really. It makes it much more engaging. Link to comment
Rick Kitchen January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 If you're okay with animation, try The Last Unicorn. It's from a book, too, by Peter S. Beagle. 1 Link to comment
Betweenyouandme January 12, 2015 Author Share January 12, 2015 That seems fun. I love Mia Farrow. Looked it up and it's paired with The NeverEnding Story and Labyrinth on Amazon. I like those a lot. Thank you. Link to comment
