ApathyMonger January 7, 2014 Share January 7, 2014 Details here: http://tvline.com/2014/01/07/sense8-netflix-cast-wachowskis-spoilers/ The sci-fi drama will focus on eight people scattered around the globe who are connected by a shared — violent — vision. (Because it’s never a vision of kittens, is it?) Each episode — shot in the UK, Seoul, Mumbai, Nairobi, Berlin, Mexico City, San Francisco and Chicago — will follow the characters’ separate stories, even as one entity tries to bring the octet together and another tries to kill them. Among the regulars (as yet uncast) are: a closeted Mexican telenovela hunk, an Icelandic party girl, a German safe-cracker, a Korean businesswoman, an African bus driver and a transgender American blogger (a la Lana?). Perhaps most intriguing, though, are Jonas, an apparently magic African-American who appears to all of the “visionaries,” and his evil counterpart, Mr. Whispers (arguably the best-named villain since The X-Files’ Cigarette-Smoking Man). Sounds Flashforward-y. At least it won't have to stretch it out over 22 boring episodes like that show did. Let's just hope they get actual Asian people for the Korean parts this time. maraleia March 28, 2014 Share March 28, 2014 (edited) I have a lot of faith in the Wachowskis to get this concept done correctly and I'm looking forward to another show with a diverse cast. I had no idea that JMS who created and wrote B5 is behind this as well. Now I have even more of a reason to tune in. Edited March 28, 2014 by maraleia Link to comment
Boundary May 9, 2015 Share May 9, 2015 The concept is right up my alley, so I'm really looking forward to this. Enthusiasm is tempered, though. Great concepts like this tend to fall on their faces because of execution, Flash Forward is an example. Besides an eye raising concept, you really need a great story and well conceived characters to see it through. That's why comic book adaptations have an advantage, both of those things already exist and been proven. The Wachowskis obviously know a great concept when they see one but Jupiter Ascending had terrible dialogue and the actors were phoning it in. But with Netflix and Straczynski's involvement, my hopes are high. I've already set aside June 5 for a binge session. Link to comment

Boundary June 1, 2015 Share June 1, 2015 I read somewhere JMS saying there are natural breaks after the 4th and 8th episodes. Link to comment
