Snazzy Daisy June 2 Author Share June 2 Quote “Where I come from, when facts are being so clearly ignored, it’s never because of incompetence.” Wise words, Akram. It’s interesting that Sam Haig was a journalist who normally covered organized crimes. Logically, he would be investigating coverups in government agencies and law enforcement as well. Hardy tells Rose that the “boobrie” is actually called the cormorant. Finally, some clues have led Team Doolally to Kirsty Atkins. It’s revealed that Merritt agreed to talk to Sam Haig after Kirsty was attacked by 2 prisoners. Dept Q needs to consider the possibility that the Finch case may not be related to the botched investigation of Merritt’s disappearance. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153780-s01e05-episode-5/#findComment-8676626
tennisgurl June 3 Share June 3 Carl, Akram, and Rose are becoming a pretty good team, even if Carl hasn't really acknowledged it. He's even been caught in the act of mentoring. Very interesting that Sam Haig was a journalist looking into organized crime, but is it actually connected to the crime? There are a lot of different suspects and crimes and backstory here and I am still trying to keep track of everything. I like getting more layers to Merritt, she might have been cold and prickly but she wasn't totally cold and unfeeling, despite what most people said about her. Does Merritt feel responsible for what happened to her brother, did she accidently cause his attack? Is that what took her from angry party girl to ambitious prosecutor? 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153780-s01e05-episode-5/#findComment-8677772
Raja June 3 Share June 3 By the way Moira reacted to "DC Salim" Merritt's action as a prosecutor isn't all that different than from anyone else in those services. Everything seems to be pointing towards Merritt's boss except the four years of torture reads as more personnel than that. I can't get a read on Merritt yet. When she told the caregiver that William was a grown man and not her baby, I understood her concern. But she was so brusque! The character that bugs me is the therapist. I've never been to therapy, but it seemed like she had a flirtatious manner with Carl in their fist interaction. Moira's a bitch, but she's not stupid. And that legal guardian! She should have known Carl peeped her game at their first meeting and that he would be back. I want to see her prosecuted.😠 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153780-s01e05-episode-5/#findComment-8677968
