Snazzy Daisy March 23 Author Share March 23 I never watched any documentaries about Natalia Grace but I know how she looks like IRL. I don’t understand the casting and styling for Natalia’s character. And what’s with the walker? Kristine doesn’t tell Michael the whole truth about the sketchy adoption agency, the incomplete paperwork for adoption and vaccination, Natalia’s dangerous behavior at school and in the car. Michael doesn’t have the courage to to tell Kristine about his retrenchment. And he refuses to see obvious red flags in Natalia’s behaviors — the beheaded Ethan’s cow doll, tacks on the front door, refusing to go to school etc. The pubic hair fiasco is weird AF. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152452-s01e02-jump-the-jitters-out/#findComment-8614377
Pi237 March 23 Share March 23 The amount of things Michael and Kristine hide from each other rings false to me. It’s their side of the story, told in a way that gives them both a lot of plausible deniability. I know they’re not directly involved in the script, so all the ‘don’t tell’ secrets must just be embellishment for drama. It’s bizarre to watch this after all we’ve seen on The Curious Case of Natalia Grace. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152452-s01e02-jump-the-jitters-out/#findComment-8614680

I've been married twice, once for 5 years and now for 40+ years, and from my own experience and that of relatives and friends I know that spouses often hide things from each other. Of course we don't know what really happened between Michael and Kristine behind closed doors, but it doesn't seem unrealistic to me that spouses would hide things that cause shame. A small thing could be something like having a secret stash of chocolate, which both my parents did and I do also. But they may also hide much bigger things such as alcohol abuse and cheating (as in my first marriage) or negative interactions with a child that make the wife feel like a bad mother (as I occasionally did when my daughter was young, though I was never abusive). It bothers me that we are so far seeing only their side of the story, which paints Natalia in the worst light. I know the general story but haven't seen the documentary, which may be more sympathetic to Natalia. I hope future episodes give a fuller perspective.
