There is an image resizing bug with the latest iPhone iOS (18.2.1).

It seems that the option to resize the image smaller (so it's not obnoxiously large) cannot be completed on iPhones using the newest iOS without first saving the post with the large image.

For example:

Here👆is the full size version.
Here👇is the better sized version:

which can not be done on an updated iPhone without first saving the post with the too-big image,
and then coming back to edit it,
because the green UPDATE button doesn't respond until the post has been saved:

But it works just fine with Chrome on my MacBook.

I've looked over the upcoming release notes for the next version of this gen of software and checked the support forums and there is nothing on this reported or noted anywhere.

So that leaves two options. New hitch specific to the latest iPhone software in which case it will start to be reported and then dealt with in a patch or new version (in which case there's nothing I can do) or... maybe you've got some bad JavaScript hanging around on the phone in which case wipe the caches however you like and try try again.

I'd test locally but the newest iPhone here is a 7 Plus so... I do have a newer iPad but not sure if that's the same for browser stuff.

I just downloaded the latest to 18.2, and am not seeing what the original poster is saying? Is this trying to resize an image after posting it using your phone?

Hey @GHScorpiosRule👋

More simply:
On an iPhone with iOS 18.2
The image cannot be resized until AFTER saving the post.
The image can only be resized by editing the post.

Not a terrible problem.
But if there are others here effected, it could be helpful for them to know the image can be resized by editing the post, and that they don't need to post a giant image or no image.
But I don't think everyone here knows how to resize images anyway.

And, like @AllAstronauts, mentioned, it could be something specific to my phone.
I have 2 family members with the same phone, but they have 2 toddlers and work full time, so…
