aghst December 20, 2024 Share December 20, 2024 Stars Julia-Louis Dreyfus and James Gandalfini, as two divorcees who start dating. At the same time, Eva (JLL) befriends a massage client of hers who turns out to be the ex-wife of Albert (Gandalfini). Movie got very good reviews. I vaguely recall the movie when it came out because this movie was released posthumously, just months after JG passed away. The set up sounds like an episode of Seinfeld because Eva learns that Marianne (Catherine Keener) and Albert were married but she doesn't say anything to either, keeps hanging out with both her and dating him. In fact she tries to avoid being found out when Marianne tries to introduce Eva to her daughter Tess, whom she had already met through Albert. When she's finally found out, Eva's reaction is like something Elaine might have done, try to pretend like she's learning for the first time. But it's a serious situation, because she realizes that she wants to keep seeing Albert. Lot of funny moments, not Seinfeld or Veep type of comedy. But JLL and JG both show they can go well beyond their most famous roles. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151168-enough-said-2013/
Harvey December 29, 2024 Share December 29, 2024 I love this movie so much! It is endlessly rewatchable and I love the slice of life calm quality it has. The writing / dialouge is really good. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151168-enough-said-2013/#findComment-8542027
Spartan Girl December 29, 2024 Share December 29, 2024 It was a good movie. So glad James Gandolfini got the role instead of Louie CK. The takeaway from this movie is that an ex is not always a reliable source of information. Eva later admitted that all the things Marianne bitched about Albert were things that didn’t bother her in the slightest—until she let herself be influenced by Marianne’s judgement. And that it was obvious that Marianne was kind of awful, so why would Eva even want to keep her secret friendship with her? Poor Albert didn’t deserve any of that from either of him. I was glad that the movie left it up in the air if they get back together instead of Eva being easily forgiven.
