Zaffy Saturday at 10:29 PM Share Saturday at 10:29 PM I don't know if it is the book's source material or the Tv writing (I have read that the show deviates from the books in some points) but the story is quite weak in season 2. Season 1 ended with a big revelation, the existence of multiple Silos. The main character manages to reach another silo and find a survivor and 6 episodes later we barely know anything more than the end of the first season. Cause Jules doesn't seem to care asking a single thing about the Silos. Yes, she wants to go back and save her Silo, but still, she has multiple opportunities to ask Solo for more info and she doesnt. As for Silo 18, the whole story desperately tries to make parallels with our world. The speech about "divide and conquer" is completely ridiculous cause this tactic cannot work in a place like Silo. In their need to talk about our society problems, the writers bend realism. A confined society that has NO way to "refresh" itself with outside help and new people, would not treat the Mechanical like expendable pariahs, or anyone else really. At this point even the fact that the Silo is at least 200years old and managed to survive is not believable. The only interesting thing we have learned this season was that the Vaults get power from an external source. That clearly means there is some kind of central control of the Silos. But instead of focusing in the mystery, we spend so much filler time with unrealistic rebellions and we have the main heroine doing practically nothing for whole 6 episodes with 4 remaining. ofmd Saturday at 11:09 PM Share Saturday at 11:09 PM (edited) Yeah, I'm out. I've gone from "I need to know, g'ddammit!" just a few episodes ago to "I really don't care anymore". I don't know the source material either, but the show feels as if they were hell-bent to artificially stretch out a plot that should be 2 seasons at most to 4 or 5 or however many they are planning. The first season had a lot of thrill/ tension for me and I cared for many of the characters (ofc they just had to kill many of them off bc that's the hot thing ever since GOT, but still, there were some left to care about) ; now I'm just bored. I had to force myself to not do other things or just drift off. I have to give them credit for an unintended lol though: When they had Shirl smear ointment on Knox' conveniently exposed body. Substle, show, subtle! Edited Saturday at 11:09 PM by ofmd 1 Link to comment
