ProudMary December 10, 2024 Share December 10, 2024 (edited) Hi everyone! I've created a thread where we can discuss the first three episodes of Pop Culture Jeopardy! that are currently streaming on Prime Video. New episodes drop on Wednesdays. I don't know if they'll just be dropping individual episodes weekly, or if they'll bundle them as they did to begin. As we now have a separate forum here for PCJ, anyone can start a new thread. Edited December 13, 2024 by ProudMary Added date to thread title. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151036-s1-e01-e02-e03-12042024/
Bastet December 10, 2024 Share December 10, 2024 I watched all three to give it a fair chance, but it's not my jam. (Which is fine; by the show's own amusing descriptions of itself at the top of each show, it's not made for me.) I didn't like the host, I didn't like the contestants (especially the ones who dressed in matching outfits), and I didn't like the clues. The idea with this was that I might get some pop culture facts to stick in my brain to help me in the regular show, but I doubt I'll watch it enough for that to happen -- based on the first three episodes, it's something I'd just watch if it was the middle of the night and I couldn't get back to sleep (since my cat won't let me get up and do something instead). 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151036-s1-e01-e02-e03-12042024/#findComment-8529597

I used to be great at pop culture. But that doesn’t include internet “celebrities” and other such nonsense. I guess I’m too old for this show! bilgistic December 10, 2024 Share December 10, 2024 I thought I would do well with this show, but I was wrong. Apparently I'm terribly unhip. I did very poorly in the first round but better with the second round (Double Jeopardy, I guess; I only watch regular Jeopardy very occasionally). I loved the unexpected ending of the first episode! I'll keep watching because it's winter and not much else new is on right now. I don't know "internet celebrities", either, but then, I was grown before the internet was a "thing". 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151036-s1-e01-e02-e03-12042024/#findComment-8529623
ProudMary December 11, 2024 Author Share December 11, 2024 I don't care for the "Triple Play." I'm fine with the idea that the correct response has three parts. To me, that's enough to make it a "Triple Play", but requiring a correct response from each individual member of the team isn't working. If one member of the team rings in because thay know all three correct responses, they should be able to name all of them. I could be wrong, but I don't think a singular team has accomplished this feat yet. I guess the producers wanted something unique for this version of the show, but to me, it misses the mark. 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151036-s1-e01-e02-e03-12042024/#findComment-8529816
