Oh brother. So lemme guess, gay mom comes out to gay son, whoopee. And bro gets a girlfriend, whoopee. And Sully fucks up again, whoopee. And Maggie and Cal get closer again but not really, whoopee. And Lola, whatever, wet fart whoopee. I seriously have neither sympathy nor any iota of interest in Lola and her never-ending quest for WHO HIT ME. I mean shit girl, that happened decades ago and you're still acting like it was yesterday? I just cant with these people. If Cal and Maggie don't hit the sheets soon I think I'm gonna have to tap out on this.

This show is pleasant enough and most of the actors are admirable, but this "who struck Lola" plot line is absurd and tiresome. First, there very much is a statute of limitations for "hit and runs" in Nova Scotia, as any 30-second Google search will easily reveal. Indeed, the applicable statutes of limitations - in both the civil and criminal contexts - would have run out years, if not decades, ago. Second, why would any criminal indictment be based only on one person's "suddenly restored" or falsely remembered memories of an accident decades ago? Both Lola's and Sully's memories were indeed wrong and suspect - which is exactly the point of statutes of limitations, which exist to prevent nonsense like this. Third, how is Cal now "practicing law" in another country when I think he's supposedly admitted only in New York State? Now that's actually a crime (unauthorized practice of law) and an ethical violation. Emergency medical issues may forgive Maggie's unlicensed practice of medicine in a foreign jurisdiction, but there is no legal analog to this that would forgive Cal.
