Gerard Butler and Nico Parker, stars of the live-action How To Train Your Dragon, graced the stage to announce that a sequel is already in development! That's right, the first-ever screening was this morning, but they're already so confident in the project's success that they're going to keep on trucking. A beautiful overture of the film's soundtrack played by the live orchestra ended the segment.

'How to Train Your Dragon'

It is typically unheard of that a director of an animation gets to helm its live-action version. Gladly, filmmaker Dean DeBlois will continue to take over the creative direction of How to Train Your Dragon, this time shooting on location and working with actors outside the audio booth. The island of Berk is about to get real (as seen in the exclusive images above), with audiences re-experiencing Hiccup and Toothless' friendship after centuries of rivalry between Vikings and dragons. Similarly to DeBlois, Gerard Butler will return for the live-action as Hiccup's father, Chief Stoick the Vast. The actor told Collider he is ecstatic about reprising his role, this time getting to wear the Nordic helmet:

"It has been a huge piece of my heart to be part of this franchise. This time, instead of stepping into the recording booth, I stepped into Stoick's boots, strapped on his armor, put his helmet on my head and literally entered the world of Berk. I cannot wait for audiences around the world to get swept up in this heartwarming, hilarious and thrilling adventure."
