Guildford October 17 Share October 17 I am loving this season. The fight scene was lit... I didn't expect the dude to take down both Kev & Dante... would've like to have seen them with a few more bruises on their faces in the following scene in the bullpen, but a minor gripe. Also seeing as most of the team went into Edgar's house at the end, it was a little distracting that non-one came running when Voight fired his weapon. On a shallow note, the 3 younger boys are looking mighty mighty fine this season. That aside, I enjoyed the case & also that Voight was a little more restrained. His grief for his wife was palpable even after all this time. I guess Marina was still on 'light duties' after her Mat leave but Kim kinda disappeared in the back half, although I think I prefer that than not seeing her at all & maybe that's a better way to manage the budget cuts? (Not sure how that works payment wise) .. and now Chapman will disappear for a couple of months (the actress recently gave birth to a little boy herself). I didn't mind the confession from Chapman, but what I want to see is Voight telling her that it's just not going to happen & the push & pull of that play out as long as it stays platonic. Having that between them could be interesting. A strong start to season 12, probably the best 4 episode run this show has put together for a long time. 1 Link to comment

That annoyed me too. It was definitely an eye roll moment seeing Atwater with little band-aids on his arm but nothing on his head. He should definitely have a knot. We rarely see Kevin get dirty, so that was a surprising moment. Lots of unpredictable scenes this season and I am loving it. I've been screaming in shock a lot lol I'm happy for Voight and I ship him and Nina. Rarely do you see a show on this long stick to their character arc, but Voight has been completely asexual. Nina is definitely the type of woman he needs. Remember, he tried that "You don't protect me!" line on Hailey and Ruzek, but Nina challenged it perfectly. He needs an Alpha female like her. People on X are saying they saw this coming since last season, but I had no clue she was feeling him. Nice seeing Trudy in every episode so far. GREAT case of the week. I'm a happy fan! 👏 Link to comment
Snazzy Daisy October 18 Author Share October 18 I always see Hank Voight as a lone wolf. When he talks about Camille, there’s a tender side of him that we rarely see. A bit hard to imagine him as a family man. Quote VOIGHT: “You don’t lie for me. You don’t protect me. Because that’s not how it works.” Quote NINA: “You can’t even hear it, can you? That I care about you. I have feelings for you. And you don’t get to dictate those feelings.” Hey Voight, it’s OK to let people care about you. It’s obvious that CPD writers are testing the waters about this new potential pairing. We cannot deny that Voight and Nina have a reliable working dynamic. Can they survive something more? 2 Link to comment

I think her admission could be very interesting, particularly if Voight pushes back on it. Either way, I'm okay. However, FFS .... are Burzek ever going to be allowed to speak on screen again? There has been zero follow up since episode 3 last season. At least let them have one conversation .... please... it's getting weird. 1 Link to comment

It's been years since I've seen the show but started noticing the boards' excitement and watched this season up to here. The two search scenes looked the same in one guy at a time going in to fight while everyone else stayed on the perimeter. Every scene outside of the station looked like COVID era productions, empty with the lack of extras. While the episode most take place in residential homes, I can understand the lack of bystanders but the lack of uniformed back up did mean that yes one of the casts had to cover the back escape route.
