A team trapped inside the dysfunctional hell of creating franchise superhero movies, at the end of the day the question they face is: is this Hollywood's new dawn or cinema's last stand? Is this a dream factory or a chemical plant?

The Franchise is an 8 (half-hour) episode Comedy TV Series airing on October 6, 2024 on HBO at 10pm. The Franchise pokes fun at and holes in the Super Hero Movie, especially how they are made. Already deep into the production of a multi-million dollar project, a summer blockbuster movie, "Tecto: Eye of the Storm". A sudden visit by studio executives to give notes about the direction they want the movie to go in, clashes with the director, Eric’s vision. The chaos this causes might make this movie more newsworthy for what is happening behind the scenes, than what is going on on the screen. This doesn't even include the setbacks caused by malfunctioning special effects, uncooperative animal actors, and temperamental human ones.

I was a big fan of Veep - loved it until the last season when it got a little shaky IMO.   Then I saw that a new series called "Avenue 5" by the some of the same people was coming to HBO, I got excited for more sharp comedy.   Unfortunately, I HATED Avenue 5 and only got through 3-4 episodes.

I am a little gunshy about taking a chance on The Franchise and came here to see what kind of reception it got.    Guess I'll take a peek.... here goes nothing.
