AnimeMania September 17 Share September 17 The Franchise is an 8 (half-hour) episode Comedy TV Series airing on October 6, 2024 on HBO at 10pm. The Franchise pokes fun at and holes in the Super Hero Movie, especially how they are made. Already deep into the production of a multi-million dollar project, a summer blockbuster movie, "Tecto: Eye of the Storm". A sudden visit by studio executives to give notes about the direction they want the movie to go in, clashes with the director, Eric’s vision. The chaos this causes might make this movie more newsworthy for what is happening behind the scenes, than what is going on on the screen. This doesn't even include the setbacks caused by malfunctioning special effects, uncooperative animal actors, and temperamental human ones. Daniel Brühl as Eric, a famous European director who wants to create a masterpiece, but is not allowed by the studio execs to do any of the artistic things he wants to do. Darren Goldstein as Pat, a very high-up the ladder producer in the studio system where the film is being made. Aya Cash as Anita, an executive producer, with a personal and professional history with (Eric OR Daniel?), she seems to stoke fires on set rather than resolve them. Himesh Patel as Daniel, the first assistant director, who's main job is herding the cast and crew to their assignments. Lolly Adefope as Dag, the third assistant director, new to the set and pursuing her own agenda. Jessica Hynes as Steph, an overworked screenwriter. Billy Magnussen as Adam, the actor hired to play the Super Hero "Tecto", who can create earthquakes. He is lonely and insecure, and believes his performance does not measure up to the importance of his "leading man" status in the movie. Richard E.
