“Who was Suzie’s husband?”

Suzie was a hikikomori (extreme avoidance of social contact) when she first met Masa. They have bonded over this since Masa used to be one too.

While she’s coping with his disappearance, she discovers that he has been hiding things from her for the past 10 years. That’s frustrating for Suzie. Is Masa bound by a NDA or some sort and not allowed to talk about his job in robotics? Or is it because he knows Suzie hates robot?

According to Mixxy, a robot can be reprogrammed using the “Dark Manual”. Did Masa actually write this dark manual? A veteran roboticist is blown away by how advanced Sunny is despite its standard exterior. Why does Sunny suddenly malfunctioning before entering Imatech HQ?

Imatech HQ has a futuristic look with retro vibe and creepy ambience, quite Severance-esque. The closure of Division 5 must be due to the murder coverup in E01 opening scene.

With a creepy guy spying on Suzie, I think Masa is hiding from someone. It could be Imatech or some other parties who are after the “Dark Manual” for robots. The manual could be used as a guide to make robots perform evil deeds.

Then Sunny having a dream (or repressed memory) of the day after the murder with Masa covering its up with a cloth and Masa saying “it must stay in the darkness”. Was Sunny the killer robot? Sunny could’ve been wiped and reprogrammed into this chipper homebot. If Masa has done something bad, irreversible or regrettable, why Zen has to pay for it too?

After 2 episodes, I like Sunny more than the grumpy, prickly Suzie. Sunny is a bubbly, chipper homebot who cares too much and a bit clingy at times. Sunny is adorable! Joanna Sotomura does a great job as the voice behind Sunny. 😘

This show is very different so far. Obviously there is a lot of mystery surrounding both Masa’s work and his disappearance. I wonder what he programmed into Sunny for Suzie’s benefit (in case he disappeared?). There is a lot to unfold here for Suzie.
