SERIES PREMIERE — Diagnosed with Leber’s Neuropathy, homicide detective Tess Avery (Dolly Lewis) quits the police force after nearly getting her partner, Jake Campbell (Daniel Gillies), killed. Unwilling to accept help, or even admit her new reality, Tess turns to an assistive app to help navigate the world around her while still “passing” as sighted. Through the EyesUP app, Tess finds an unorthodox partner in Sunny Patel (Agam Darshi), an overly enthusiastic seeing eye guide working from her home in New York City who helps Tess investigate the brutal abduction of a young mother who may still be alive. But Sunny has a secret: she’s an agoraphobe who only leaves her apartment through the eyes of her clients, and is hiding a violent event in her own past.

Premiere Date: April 3, 2024       CW      9pm

I was a little annoyed that Tess and her homicide partner did not put on gloves or disposable shoe covers while they were at the crime scene. Tess wasn't wearing gloves when she broke into the bad guy's house. Don't leave evidence if you are not sure that you have the right guy yet.

I guess it might be good or maybe very bad that Sunny is recording everything. Tess is breaking quite a few laws which might get the case thrown out if Tess is not following proper procedures.

How can nobody notice that Tess is blind, you would have thought that Tess would have freaked out as soon as it happened and ask to be rushed to the hospital instead of working the rest of her shift and then casually going to the hospital later in the day.

I notice a lot of crime shows have the investigators not wearing gloves these days. It always annoys me.

Tess saying her partner can't investigate because he'd need a warrant made me laugh. Like, Tess can break and enter without a warrant-- no problem! Would her evidence be admissable on that basis?

I figure her blindness came on slowly and she was in denial about how serious it was until it reached critical mass or something. I don't know anything about the particular condition they say she has.

Can anyone tell me if the photo on the webpage for Sunny was her, or someone else? It went by too fast and my own vision is iffy enough these days (double vision with vertigo-- a flare, I hope, and not permanent), but I thought it might be that they lingered on it to show that it was someone else... which implies that Sunny is an imposter who stole the real Sunny's identity?

Also, unless he was drugged, that one night stand guy was an implausibly heavy sleeper!

This is the 2nd show the CW has done with a blind crime investigator. I think it's a surprising niche they seem to be carving out for themselves.
