AnimeMania February 26 Share February 26 Three Women is a Drama TV Series with all 10 Episodes released on February 16, 2024 on Stan in Australia and the series will air at a later date on Starz in the US. Three Women was originally commissioned by Showtime before being dropped after its completion as a tax write-off in the Paramount/Showtime restructuring. Starz rescued this TV Series that is based on the 2019 narrative nonfiction book, Three Women, by Lisa Taddeo, that was based on 8 years of interviews. The TV Series has no connection to the 1977 film "3 Women". Three Women is an intimate, haunting portrayal of American female desire that finds three women on a crash course to radically overturn their lives. Gia is a writer grieving the loss of her family, who persuades three spectacularly “ordinary” women to tell her their stories, and her relationships with them change the course of her life forever. Maggie is a 23-year-old woman in North Dakota who accuses her former married English teacher for an inappropriate sexual relationship with her when she was 17, causing an intense community backlash. Lina is a mother in her 30s who rekindles a flame with her high school sweetheart when her husband refuses physical affection. Sloane is a glamorous restaurant owner in Rhode Island, in her 40s in an open marriage, whose husband and business partner, Richard picks out her experimental sexual partners. Shailene Woodley as Gia, a writer chronicling the lives of three women, as well as her own. John Patrick Amedori as Jack, a seemingly short-term guy in Gia’s journey towards the final chapter of her book. But when he tries to go all in on the love of his life, it sets off a series of chaotic events that propels them both into uncharted, unsafe waters. Betty Gilpin as Lina, a homemaker in suburban Indiana, in a passionless decade long marriage, who embarks on an affair that quickly becomes all-consuming and transforms her life. DeWanda Wise as Sloane, committed to an open marriage with husband Richard, until two sexy new strangers threaten their aspirational love story. Blair Underwood as Richard, Sloane's husband, a popular island chef. Lola Kirke as Jenny, a sparkling, free spirit – and possibly the only woman Sloane has ever gotten close to. Blair Redford as Will, the alluring oyster farmer who threatens to upend the perfect world of Sloane. Gabrielle Creevy as Maggie, who reports to the police, the married "Teacher of the Year", as having an inappropriate relationship with her. Jess Gabor as Billie, Maggie’s spunky, loyal best friend, and one of her only supporters in the community that turns on her. Jason Ralph as Aaron Knodel, a North Dakota teacher. Brían F. O'Byrne as Mark Wilkin Heather Goldenhersh as Arlene Wilkin Zane Pais as David Wilkin Ravi Patel as Dr. Henry, a charming doctor who is confident about his effect on women and his intuitive ability to really listen to them – when, in fact, he’s often doing more talking than listening. ShellsandCheese December 2 Share December 2 After finishing the show, I’m convinced this show was made by a narc to get people to hate women. Women are complicated. We all know that. Why? Because we’re human. But this show: Lina is so distracted waiting to hear from her booty call that she ignores her kid, and then isn’t around when her kid falls into a pile of shit. Sloane wasn’t a slut, but she was a huge dick. Manipulating people for her own sexual pleasure; Gia was a total lunatic when it came to jerking around the man she got pregnant by twice!!! Lina had her moments but the only real relatable character was Maggie. The other ones seemed like caricatures. And were we supposed to dislike Sloane’s mom? Because she was great. Link to comment
